169. A Mother's Responsibilities

Sofia's POV

I was awakened from my sleep by the ringing noise of my phone and blinked my eyes open with a loud yawn.

Francesca had my phone in her hand and she was staring at the screen until she noticed my movement.

"Mamma, it's Uncle Danny" There was a big smile on her face as she stretched out the phone to me.

Instead of collecting it, my eyes turned to the corner of the room where my other daughter was seated in front running TV screen and her chin was resting on her pair of knees.

I know Marcela was pretending to not hear us and this made my heart heavy.

"Marcela won't talk to me" My attention was drawn again to Francesca who was speaking with a frown on her face.

I took the phone from her and caressed her cheek with my thumb, "Your sister needs her alone time. She would be back"

Talking to Marcela when she is annoyed would only fuel her emotion and the only way was leaving her to switch to her other personality.
