Mia’s pov As soon as the door closed in our faces, I felt myself tense up in Lorenzo’s arms, making it almost hard for me to breathe as we began to walk towards his car until he dropped his hand.I was looking at everywhere but at him, while wondering if I had overstepped in there, not knowing how Lorenzo actually felt about the girl, and if he had liked that I had gotten into a fight with that Lily girl. After a few moments, I blurted out the next words that came to mind.“I wasn’t the one who started the fight.” Lorenzo remained silent after that, and the only indication that he had indeed heard what I had said was the little arch of his eyebrow as he regarded me with a flat look, which made me avert my gaze. “I wasn’t the one who hit her first, or—” I continued after a few seconds because I couldn’t stop the words from coming forth, but the words died on my tongue when Lorenzo abruptly stopped walking. Not knowing what to expect from him, I stopped walking as well, and al
Mia’s pov On blinking my eyes open, I stared up into the roof for a few minutes while thinking about multiple things at once. I let out a long breath and rolled to the side, eyes landing on the window whose curtains were slightly parted in a way that let the sun into the bedroom a little. I let out a long sigh and glanced away from it, and then I slid out from the bed, tugging the curtains shut completely as I walked past it, heading towards the bathroom. As I cleaned my teeth, I found myself lost in thoughts while staring at my reflection in the mirror. After taking a quick shower which left me feeling extremely refreshed, I checked out the side of my face where I got slapped in last night by Lily, which I had thought was going to end up bruising. Thankfully, it didn’t end up bruising, only purpling a little. I patted it gently and lattared the ointment over it, and then I regarded it in the mirror once again. As I did that, I noticed the bruise at the side of my throat, and
Mia’s pov Surprisingly, he didn’t force the food into my mouth like he had done yesterday. But, he also didn’t invite me to come eat out with him.Instead, he ignored me and ordered food for himself, eating it by himself and leaving me to starve, which made annoyance brew inside of me.I knew it was pretty absurd of me to be feeling entitled to this extent; but I don't even care.I’m being held against my own will, being forced to prepare a bunch of stupid ass food which I’ve never been made to prepare in my entire life. It’s only fair that he fed me, since he had literally kidnapped me in the first place.I didn’t bother to hide my scowl each time our eyes met.I diligently cleaned up the entire kitchen which I had turned upside down when attempting to prepare breakfast this morning, and as usual, it was extremely stressful. The smell of Lorenzo’s food which kept wafting into my nose wasn’t helping matters as well.I let out a sigh every now and then as I worked, wishing there was
Mia’s pov It took a few long seconds for me to get my bearings together, and as soon as I did, I realized a lot of things at once.Which were firstly; I was on top of Lorenzo, splayed out on top of his body, and secondly, I could feel all the hardness of his body underneath mine, that even the hard surface of his stomach burned the skin of my palm through the material of his shirt.Thirdly, my face was a few inches away from Lorenzo’s in this state, and before I could even think, I let out a startled squeak and attempted to pull away from his grip at once. The grip he had on my right wrist prevented me from doing that, along with his second hand sliding across my waist to pin me against him and color flooded my cheeks at once in the next moment. My heart was pounding super fast and it was unnerving for me to keep staring into Lorenzo’s eyes in this position, and so I tried to avert my gaze, choosing to focus on the exposed skin of his throat, which I realized almost immediately
Lorenzo’s pov As I watched Mia flee, it took everything in me to not go after her, like she was a prey who was edging me towards some kind of mock race.I let out a harsh breath and glanced down at my hand which had been wrapped around her waist minutes ago and I clenched that hand tightly as a low curse slipped past my lips. Her waist had felt ridiculously tiny in my grip, that I wanted to shove her shirt up to come in contact with her warm skin but had to stop myself from doing that after a moment’s rethinking. She had felt so damn good on top of me, a welcomed, pleasant, warm weight that I didn’t want her to ever get up.I knew I was already in deep than I even realized, which isn’t a good thing at all.I had long established the fact that I wouldn’t be able to kill her like I had planned to, despite how much I want to. But, lusting after her wasn’t what I was supposed to be doing. I should instead be looking for multiple other ways in which I could still make her father p
Mia’s pov As I carefully climbed down the stairs, I made sure to be as quiet as possible. It’s past midnight and I’m currently creeping towards the kitchen because I couldn’t ignore the hunger pangs any longer. The last meal I had was the one Lorenzo had forced me into accepting, right before the weird encounter between us had taken place. After I fled the sitting room once I was able to; I made sure to remain in my bedroom throughout the rest of the day, because I didn’t want to come across Lorenzo no matter what. The large wall clock in the sitting room clearly read 12:26am.It’s quite late, and I’d have been fast asleep by this time on a normal day.As I made my way into the kitchen, my stomach began to growl at once. I knew there wasn’t any snack or easily prepared food laying around in the kitchen, I can tell because I’ve thoroughly turned the kitchen around the two times I had been forced to prepare breakfast. The only reason I’m here right now, is because I had hop
Mia’s pov As I descended the stairs, the smell of food being cooked wafted into my nose, shocking me out of my bones and prompting me into hastening my footsteps until I was standing in the doorway of the kitchen.I had woken up about an hour ago and took a lazy shower before finally leaving my bedroom and starting to feel hungry.A middle aged woman is in the kitchen right now, moving around in the kitchen like she belonged in it. She had an apron on and looked like she knew what she was doing right now, telling from how nice the food she’s currently preparing smelt like. Moments later, she was heading towards the sink when she noticed me. The shock had been clear enough, telling from how she jolted before hurriedly bowing her head at me in respect.“Good morning, ma’am.” Her voice was raspy but pleasant to the ears as she spoke and I felt taken aback instantly at the respectful title in her greeting, knowing damn well that she had definitely mistaken me for someone more imp
Mia’s pov When Lorenzo came down for breakfast, he barely glanced at me twice, and I wasn’t sure of what to make of that. The fact that he isn’t paying attention to me right now is supposed to feel relieving and pleasant, which is why I’m unable to place my finger on the meaning of the weird feeling bubbling in the middle of my chest. It’s been two days since I last set my eyes on Lorenzo. The last time we both saw each other was that night in the kitchen when he had returned from somewhere in the middle of the night, whereby I had made myself a bowl of cereal after being unable to fall asleep on an empty stomach. The days that had followed that midnight, I had been glad that Lorenzo hadn’t come to call on me to come prepare food for the both of us, and I had been pleased that he left me to myself. I spent those two days eating snacks and food that didn’t require me to turn on the gas.I had thought that was how I was going to be living the rest of my life seeing as he left to
