Mia’s pov The car ride back to Lorenzo’s main apartment was one which was filled with silent almost throughout, but unlike those tense ones we shared in the past, this one was quite different. It was comfortable and it also felt like we were somehow communicating through the silence without having to say a word.“Are you sure it’s gonna be safe back there?” I tentatively asked as I realized that we’ve almost arrived at our destination. Lorenzo gave me a look before cracking a small smile.“Why? You nervous?” He asked and I glanced out the window at first while absentmindedly chewing at the inside of my cheek. I had a feeling that who ever it was that was behind that raid incident is someone who definitely hated Luca and a little bit of fear has settled in my chest as the thought of anything happening to him.“Just a little bit.” I admitted and he hummed in understanding.“But nothing’s gonna happen to you, you know that, right?” He asked after a little while and I almost roll
Mia’s pov Dinner had already been prepared before we arrived. Apparently, Lorenzo had given Cat permission to come prepare some food for us before our arrival, and all that’s left is for the food to be microwaved. Lorenzo was in the kitchen doing just that when I arrived in the kitchen door way, he had his phone plastered against his ears as he moved around and I remained in the doorway for long moments until I got sighted.“Look who decided to show up.” Lorenzo murmured and I rolled my eyes and I walked into the kitchen while stretching my hands as I did that.I had taken a quick, unexpected nap about thirty minutes ago and it seemed to have helped me relax even more. When I crawled into Lorenzo’s huge bed, one which now supposedly belonged to me as well, I had felt extremely giddy as I slipped underneath the covers. The pillows had no smells of Lorenzo whatsoever but I knew that would get fixed in no time. After that, I somehow got lost in my thoughts until I drifted off to sleep.“
Mia’s pov A shiver coursed down my spine but i squared my shoulders and net his gaze with a neutral one. “Never planned on doing that. What’s there to run from in here?” I asked and the small grin on his face slowly stretched until he face had lowered to my height.“A lot, princess. A lot.” He whispered, voice husky and I shivered and shifted my weight from feet to feet.I made a show of glancing over the entire interior of the room before returning back to staring at him.“It’s just a room which I’ve been in a handful of times. What’s where to be scared of?” I whispered and he cocked an eyebrow before speaking, eyes dancing with what I’d term as mischief.“Is that so?”“Mhhm.”“Have you perhaps wondered what laid on the other side of that door?” He asked, eyes pointing towards a door positioned at the left part of the large bedroom. My eyes followed that angle and I swallowed emptily as I returned my gaze back to his face. I cleared my throat before starting to speak.“I- I t
Mia’s pov A smile was already dancing across my lips before I crossed my eyes open, and it only widened when all that happened the previous night slowly crashed down on me. I rolled to my side, nose sinking into the second pillow beside my head and I breathed in Lorenzo’s scent which was now clinging to the pillows. Unlike when we had just arrived whereby the entire place was completely devoid of our scents, now was the complete opposite and i reveled in it.Lorenzo was already out of bed, which isn’t surprising because he has always been an early bird since I could remember and I wasn’t sure I’ve ever woken up to him still sleeping beside me since the moment we began to sleep together in the same bed, aside that first night whereby he had come to my room after supposedly having a nightmare, and till date, we’ve never talked about that night, but it doesn’t mean I didn’t think about it every now and then.I let out a contented sigh as I rolled to my other side and tucked the b
Mia’s pov I’ve stuck trying to decide on something to wear tonight for over thirty minutes and I was yet to come to a decision. It was starting to stress me out and I hated the fact that I was getting this stressed and worked up over this, but I knew it was because I cared, and because I was actually looking forward to this.Throughout my life, I never stop to wonder if I’d ever get to go out on a date or something, because somehow, I was already aware that I’d end up getting married off for the sake of the family. It had come as a complete shock to me when Lorenzo had asked me that question three days ago. The fact that Lorenzo and I had gotten to this level, from hating each other so much to getting ready to go on a romantic date together, was certainly something I never saw coming.I contemplated on dressing in a color blue tonight because I knew it was one of Lorenzo’s favorite color and I wanted to look extremely pretty for him.He was fond of flimsy outfits, and there wa
Mia’s pov The car ride was silent, except for the soft music playing from the radio. The silence in the car wasn’t awkward in any way, and neither do I feel nervous, all I felt was curiosity or excitement. After Lorenzo and I talked out that little Tuff back at home, we decided to go to somewhere else entirely, but he made sure to remind me that we’d go to the initially place he had planned to take me to today, on some other day, and I hadn’t minded that one bit, not just because it was my fault since I had been the one to take over an hour extra while getting ready, but because the point of this date is to just do something romantic together, no matter how small or tiny it might be, it would definitely still be a date to me.Which is why I was still brimming with excitement right now.“Where are we going?” I asked as I glanced at Lorenzo he was focused on the road since it was quite busy right now. All he could spare me was a fleeting glance before facing the road again as he
Mia’s pov I took in a deep breath from the bunch of flowers which I’ve been holding against my chest since the moment it got gifted to me. It still felt like a dream, and my brain was yet to wrap around it, which is probably why I was still clutching it like it was gonna disappear any time I let go of it. If I was acting weird to Lorenzo, he didn’t point it out, or perhaps, he didn’t mind.As we were exiting the museum, one of the workers who had previously welcomed us in stepped forward and presented Lorenzo with a bunch of flowers which I assumed were already arranged by Lorenzo before hand. When he handed it to me, it felt like all the silly dreams I used to had in the past were coming true all at once.I was very aware that I wouldn’t be able to live a normal life since I was little, but that didn’t stop me from dreaming about being treated like a literal princess by a man. It was still mind blowing and maddening that, that faceless man of my dreams has turned out to be L
Mia’s pov The dinner could be described in one word.Perfection.But, that’s if that word is enough to describe it. If there’s a word that could best describe how the entire thing when, then that would be the best thing to use in describing it.It went extremely smooth, without an hitch. At a point while we were having dessert, I began to feel a little paranoid, not because something suddenly went wrong, but because everything was going too smoothly and perfectly. In this kind of world that Lorenzo and I are in, things rarely go this smoothly without us getting surrounded by bad guys. When I was still living my previous normal life, then I was used to things moving on as planned with barely anyone jumping us, except on a very few occasions. But telling from the entire time I’ve spent by Lorenzo’s side, then we’re supposed to have gotten surrounded by bad guys at one point tonight. When I brought that up to Lorenzo, he only laughed it off before pointing out that I had only a lit
Mia’s pov “I had a lover back then, I kept it away from you because I wasn’t sure you’d approve. He was a little bit older back then, but was very good looking and brilliant. We were in love. After I realized that I was betrothed to Mr. Romero, he suggested we eloped, he was ready to turn his back on his family for me, and I followed him, because well, our lives were already miserable, so I took the first outing I saw. It killed me doing that because then I knew you’d be subjected to my fate, but I just had to be selfish, you know?”As she spoke, I felt shocked to the core on realizing that I really didn’t know my twin like I used to think. It made me feel chills run down my spine as I stared at her right now.I used to think we were best friends, that we didn’t keep secrets from each other. But, it’s very clear that I had been wrong.“I wouldn’t have been selfish though. I’d never have done that to you,” I ended up whispering after a few moments because it was the truth. That was
Mia’s pov “There’s a little traffic but we should be at our destination in no time.” One of my guards who was today’s designated driver called out and I nodded in response, flashing him a warm smile.“Of course, thank you.”I relaxed into my seat after that, letting my mind wander around. I had left the house almost two hours ago, because I wanted to get something for Lorenzo amongst other things. Lorenzo had taken it upon himself to make my birthday the best day I’ve ever experienced in my entire life, and till now, it still manages to make me giddy whenever I think about it.It started with a birthday sex. Lorenzo said that’s the best way to celebrate being a year older and I really couldn’t agree more. After that, we went to the various locations Lorenzo had listed out. He managed to arrange surprises in every single location that I kept smiling from ear to ear as we exited each location. It felt insane to even comprehend. He showered me with so many gifts that still makes
Lorenzo’s pov I found myself drawing up into a sitting position along with her. Her eyes were wide open and she was staring straight ahead. Her mouth were parted in what I’d term as shock, and I wasn’t sure of what to make of her reaction to the brought up topic.Wasn’t I supposed to bring it up? Or, is this also a part of the bunch of stuff she read online?“Is something wrong?” I asked as I reached for her hand. Her eyes were still blown wide when it locked with mine.“I- I didn’t come to your office, it wasn’t me at all, I swear.” She breathed out, grip tight around my fingers. I nodded my head as I tried getting her to relax.“It wasn’t a bad thing, Mia. We were just having fun, weren’t we? Is this also a part of the stuff you read online? For you to act this way when the topic gets brought up, hm?” I asked, watching as her eyes widened even more before she frantically shook her head.“No, no. Lorenzo, you’re not getting what I’ve been saying. You’re yet to understand.” She be
Lorenzo’s pov Mia’s lips were slightly parted as she slept peacefully atop me. We had been lazily discussing about a bunch of random things before she slowly drifted off to sleep. I was sitting on the couch in the sitting room and she was perched over my laps, curled up in a cute ball. I felt my heart sting flutter a little as I let my gaze wander over inch of her face. She was so gorgeous that it sometimes hurts to look at, it makes me wonder how her peers hadn’t been ridiculously jealous of her while they had all been growing up together. She let out a small yawn as she snuggled into me even more, causing me to smile fondly as I reached out to brush the small strand off her out of her face.I was madly, stupidly, ridiculously in love with her that it was ridiculous to sometimes to think about. It was ridiculous before it had never crossed my mind that I’d one day ever have this much raw, intense person got someone, for someone whose father had ruined my life decades ago.I lo
Mia’s pov I was busy cleaning the counter when Lorenzo said most unexpected thing ever.“I love you.”It was just three words, but it made everything stumble to a stop in my mind as soon as it registered in my mind. I blinked once, shock resonating in my mind as I slowly glanced up from what I was doing to blink at Lorenzo. He was standing at the other side of the island, hand lastly wrapped around a glass of drink. His eyes was lazily trained on me and I blinked once while wondering if I had heard wrong. He hummed as he lazily walked around the island till he was standing in front of me. One of his fingers tipped my head backwards until I was staring into his eyes.“I love you.” He breathed out softly and I felt my lips tremble in shock.“I- I thought I heard wrong.” I whispered and he snorted, a small grin tugging at his lips.“You clearly didn’t.” He hummed, eyes glistening. The words swirled around my mind, right into the middle of my heart to settle there.I love you.
Mia’s pov “I guess I understand where you’re coming from, I’d just be lying if I claim to not understand, seeing as I also grew up with so many dumb stereotypes.” I breathed out before pulling away from his grip, back facing him as I folded my arms around my middle.“But I still don’t like it though. Why do random women have to sit on you like that? That should always be me and no one else.” I breathed out. It took a few minutes for Lorenzo to be blanketing me with his large body from behind as he spoke.“You jealous, princess?”I scoffed and almost pulled away from his grip but his hold was unmoving.“Of course I am. Who wouldn’t be jealous? You tell me, wouldn’t you be jealous if you see me perched on a random man’s laps?” I asked and I felt his grip tightened around my waist almost immediately as he nosed at the side of my throat.“I wouldn’t be jealous.” He finally mumbled in response and I scoffed because I knew he was lying through his teeth. He hated the thought of othe
Mia’s pov I had just returned from the mall where I had gone to shop for knitting supplies when the text had arrived in my phone.‘Come over to my working spot, miss you’Along with an address attached. The text had arrived from an unsaved number but I could tell Lorenzo had been the one who sent the mail because the address was one of his clubs which I haven’t been to yet. It was already early evening and I wasn’t really doing anything; so I decided to go get ready because I miss him and couldn’t wait to see him.I’d have put a call through to him first but I didn’t any to do that, I wanted to just arrive there like that, and that’s exactly what I had in mind as I got ready. It didn’t take long for me to settle on something to wear, and putting a light makeup on as well. Once I was done, I gave the address to one of my guards and we were driving over to the location almost immediately. The drive was a bit long but as soon as we pulled up at the location, I felt energized al
Mia’s pov After Lorenzo went to his meeting, and that was had to convince me to stay in the office and not come into the neighboring room where the meeting was taking place in. After he left, because I was bored. It didn’t take long for me to fall asleep. My initial plan was to ignore his words and walk into the meeting, but because he had sounded quite serious while asking me not to come in, I decided to obey his instructions like a good girl xxWhen I blinked my eyes open, Lorenzo was crouching in front of me, fingers moving through my hair strands and a soft look in his eyes as our eyes locked.“Why did I think you weren't gonna listen to me and was gonna come into that meeting?” He murmured softly as his hand brushed over my cheek to rest a thumb over my bottom lip.I couldn’t help the snort that escaped my lips. “You’d be surprised by how well i can listen to instructions.” I breathed out and he laughed softly. When I sat up moments later, I arched a brow at him.“Was th
Mia’s pov I was accompanying Lorenzo to the office today and I was very excited about that. This decision came up after I complained about being bored to Lorenzo. He decided that the change of scenery would do me good, and that he’d also like me to be to his office got the first time. I had been hyped as soon as he informed me that he I’ll be going with him, which is why I’m currently bursting with excitement. We’re currently in the car which and as usual, I fiddled with the radio while trying to settle on what to listen to.“Do you have anything in mind that you’d like to do today?” Lorenzo asked and I turned the question around in my head for a few minutes.“Something like what?” I asked and he shrugged one of his shoulders.“Anything, it doesn’t have to be something special or serious.” He suggested and I contemplated on what he said after a long while before responding.“We could go play a game.” I suggested and when he snorted, I glared at him.“You told me to pick anyt
