Chapter 022

When the car pulled to a stop outside Mario's house, I hopped out and headed upstairs to my room.

I was tired and I was upset. A lot happened while I was at Marco's place, and I needed to rest.

I did not want to see Mario.

Not after he told me that he would never set me free. I wondered why he was still keeping me in his house.

I had nothing to offer him. He took everything from me, and I was left with nothing.

If there was anything left to give anymore, it was my virginity.

"Are you all right, Gia?" Sofia asked when she walked through the door.

She still had that briefcase, and I thought of changing the direction of the conversation and talking about the briefcase instead.

"I'm all right. What is in the briefcase?" I asked as I sat up on the bed and looked at her.

"I- ah- well," she stuttered, "There is nothing important in it," she answered.
