Valentina pov

The vendor gave me a look as Felix dug into his pockets and handed him the money for the cotton candy, his small hand outstretched as he stood on his tiptoes. I pretended not to notice the disbelief in the vendor's eyes as he took the money from the small child. Clearing my throat, I took the two cotton candy from the vendor with a bright smile before handing Felix one.

Hehe, cotton candy!

"Thank you, Mommy," Felix mouthed, his smile lighting up his face. I ruffled his hair affectionately, my own grin widening as I took a big bite of the candy, savoring it with my eyes closed.

Gosh, how long had it been since I’d eaten anything other than greens and vegetables? This tasted like pure heaven.

For weeks now, Martha had been refusing to let me eat anything that wasn’t healthy. According to her, my body needed all the right nutrients—blah, blah. Long story short, she even denied me a simple bowl of ramen!

"Look, that woman is making the kid pay for her things. Isn

Anastasia pov “Y-you…” The woman was the first to react, her finger jabbing toward me as her eyes widened in shock. Everyone around us froze, staring at me as though I’d just sprouted another head. And I knew exactly why—this woman was easily twice my size, probably weighing around two hundred pounds, and yet, I’d shoved her without breaking a sweat. Wow, I didn’t realize I was this strong. But then again, I couldn’t remember much of anything at all. “How dare you! How dare you push me?! Who do you think you are?!” Her voice was a shrill screech as she jerked free from the man’s grip and stormed toward me, fury blazing in her eyes. Shit, this wasn’t going to end well. I didn’t know what came over me. One second, I was fine, and then, like a switch, my body acted before I had time to think. I rushed in, thinking I was some kind of hero, when in reality, I was nothing but a weakling—a very scared weakling. I moved back with my hands in the air as the woman moved closer. “Wait, st

Alexander pov “Alexander,” Daniel began, his voice calm but laced with a hint of frustration. “Let’s just say I understand that you placed a GPS on your son’s clothes because I know that you're screwed in the head, or the fact that you’re mobilizing dozens of your men in different cars behind us just to go to an amusement park. But what I don’t understand is why you feel the need to drag me along. Frankly, I can’t wrap my head around it, what do I have to do with this?.” I didn't reply, my eyes closing as I brushed him off, my fingers drumming faster against the seat as different thoughts clouded my mind at once. My son was missing again, and this time, he was with that girl– Valentina. Had she kidnapped him, or had they been taken together? To be honest, I couldn't care less about what happened to her . The only thing that mattered to me right now was Felix. I had to find him, no matter what. Earlier, when Sebastian had barged in to report that Valentina and Felix had gone m

When did it all begin? Oh, it started when Felix slapped the kid without hesitation. The kid stood frozen in shock, unable to process what had just happened. Before anyone could react, Felix raised his hand and slapped him again. You'd think a five-year-old wouldn’t be able to do much damage to a ten-year-old, right? Wrong. The cheek Felix struck turned bright red almost instantly, and the boy’s shock quickly transformed into tears as he began to cry. But Felix? He sneered, his hand rising once more, ready to strike again. That’s when I snapped out of my shock and quickly pulled him away before things could escalate further. Now, to cut a long story short, the kid’s mother wasn’t exactly pleased with what had happened, and before I knew it, the situation escalated into a ridiculous tug-of-war— both of us were yanking at each other’s hair and yelling. At first, I was concerned about Felix, especially when the kid lunged at him too, but Felix easily tackled him to the ground and sta

Valentina pov “Open your eyes,” Alexander commanded, his hand gripping my chin roughly, forcefully lifting it upward to meet his gaze. I shook my head, my lips trembling as I refused to open my eyes to watch the scene before me. No, I couldn't bear to watch it. “I won’t repeat myself,” Alexander’s voice dropped into a low whisper as he closed the distance between us, his body pressing against mine, pushing me harder into the wall. “I said, open your eyes and look at me.” His breath brushed against my lips as he spoke, sending a shiver down my spine. I hesitated for a moment before finally forcing my eyes open, my gaze locking onto his intense gray eyes—eyes that resembled that of a monster. Scratch that. He is a monster. “Good girl. Wasn’t that difficult, was it?” Alexander’s lips curled into a cold, calculating smirk as he gazed down at me. My eyes instinctively flickered behind him, briefly locking onto the lifeless body inches away from where we stood. I couldn’t help bu

Alexander pov“What are we doing here?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly as I dragged her down to the basement. Her steps faltered for a brief moment, her gaze locking onto the unconscious man tied to a chair, his head slumped forward. She let out a startled gasp as recognition dawned on her—the man tied to the chair was the one from the amusement park, the one who had dared to almost lay his hands on her.“You’ll see soon enough,” I said in a low, controlled voice, dragging her toward the empty chair directly in front of the bastard. Without giving her a choice, I forced her to sit down.“Sit, and under no circumstances must you move or look away. Do you understand?” I leaned in, my breath brushing against her ear. “Disobey my words, and I will swear I would be more brutal” She closed her eyes at the sensation, her body tensing as if she wanted to shrink away but dared not to move. After the scene in the car earlier, the way she looked at me changed. Valentina pov “Madam, you need to eat something, or you’re going to get sick,” Martha said, her voice laced with concern. “Yes, madam, you have to eat. You haven’t eaten properly in a day. You need to eat something or else you are going to be weak,” Sebastian added, adjusting his glasses nervously, while Daniel muttered a curse under his breath. “Look what that bastard has done. He’s terrified the poor girl.” He wasn’t wrong. Why wouldn’t I be terrified? I had just witnessed a murder—a brutal one at that. What the hell was going on? How could everyone be so composed, as if that monster hadn’t just taken a life so effortlessly? After what happened yesterday, I hadn’t slept a wink. Every time I closed my eyes, the image of the bloodied body would appear, forcing me to wake up gasping for air. How could he kill so easily? I thought Alexander worked for the government, so… Felix’s tap on my shoulder broke my thoughts. I turned my gaze toward him, weakly, and saw him holding out a

Alexander povI couldn’t sleep. With a frustrated sigh, I sat up, reaching for the pack of cigarettes and lighter on the desk. I needed something—anything—to stop the thoughts clouding my mind. But no matter how many drags I took, the gnawing feeling wouldn’t go away. What the hell was this? Guilt? No, it couldn’t be. I was Alexander Knight—cold, ruthless, and immune to such pathetic emotions. Or so I thought.Running a hand through my hair, I exhaled sharply before flicking the cigarette into the ashtray. Smoking wasn’t cutting it. I needed something stronger. A drink. If a cigarette couldn’t do the job, then a bottle of whiskey sure as hell would.I walked out of the room, brushing a few stray strands of hair from my face. Alexander. What was I doing here? No matter how many times I asked myself that question, I couldn’t come up with an answer. I had retreated to my room, determined to block out that insufferable nuisance and force myself to rest. Yet, somehow, my body had betrayed me. Before I even realized it, I had wandered here, my steps carrying me down the hall without reason or logic. And when I finally became aware of where I was, I didn’t stop. I just kept walking. Now, I stood at the entrance of the kitchen, staring at what could only be described as the most ridiculous scene of my life. “Well, good for you! I guess you moved on really easily. You found a new girl, and it only took a couple of weeks! Remember when you said that you wanted to give me the world?” Valentina stood on the stool, eyes closed and chopsticks clutched tightly in her hand as she sang the lyrics at the top of her lungs, one hand dramatically pressed against her chest as though she were performing on a grand stage

Alexander pov “We have them surrounded, and the goods from the warehouse have been secured. What should we do with Nico’s men?” Adrian asked from behind me. I didn’t turn around. My eyes remained fixed on the scene below—twenty, maybe thirty of Nico’s men, all forced to their knees, hands bound behind their backs. Some trembled, others glared defiantly, but they all knew their fate. They were going die either by me or Nico. I exhaled slowly, the smoke swirling around me before speaking. “No loose ends, Adrian. You know what to do.” “Understood, boss,” Adrian responded with a bow before turning to carry out my orders. “You really are ruthless, aren’t you? Not even a shred of mercy,” Xavier remarked from behind me as he strolled to the railing, casually leaning against it with a smirk. I took a slow drag from my cigarette, inhaling deeply, but didn’t bother responding. I watched as Nico's men were forced to their knees, roughly lined up as if awaiting execution. No— they were ab

The man turned his attention to him, forcing a smile. "The ceremony should be starting soon. I didn’t respond, my eyes remained closed as I toyed with the coin in my grip, my mind clouded with thoughts. “Luca, I know you can hear me! Why do you always have a habit of ignoring people? Can’t you be nice to me for once? I don’t want to be anywhere near this place, but I’m here because of you! I even had to cancel my date with my wife. Don’t I at least deserve your attention?” he rambled, his voice breaking at the edges as he sniffed, his eyes boring into me with a sadness that should have moved me but… Silence. I kept flipping the coin between my fingers, the corners of my lips curving into a faint frown. “Should I go through with this… or just drive away?” I murmured to myself. I could feel Marcus’ deadly glare burning into me as he finally dropped the act, no longer pretending to cry. Instead, he sighed in frustration. “This i

Valentina pov The older man before me raised a brow at the word that slipped from my mouth. Before I could process what was happening, my body moved on its own—I fell to the ground, scrambling back, desperate to put distance between us. My entire body trembled, drenched in sweat, and the air around me felt thick, suffocatingly slow. "You useless girl! Can't you just pull the damn trigger? You act all fucking innocent, but if you don’t learn how to kill, you’ll die instead. This world is survival of the fittest, not some fucking fairytale!" "Even though you're useless, you should at least learn how to fight. I don’t care if you’re tired—you’re running those fucking laps until you pass out!" "How dare you! Lock her up in the basement and do not feed her. Maybe when she starves, she’ll learn her lesson." "Continue whipping her, but do not touch her face. Be careful about that." Images. Blurry, fragmented images flashed through my mind like a broken reel, forcing me to squeeze my e

Valentina pov The entire place buzzed with guests, each exuding an air of wealth and importance. The men were dressed in suits, the women in elegant gowns—everyone screamed money and status. My gaze trailed over the massive mansion, and I felt uneasy. With each passing second, the pounding in my chest grew stronger, my breath hitching as everything felt suffocating. This place was suffocating. “Good evening, Dr. Daniel, Madam Emily, and Sir Julian. Welcome.” My eyes snapped to the elderly woman dressed in a maid’s uniform, her head bowed in obedience. I raised a brow, studying her face. She looked familiar. No—scratch that. This entire place looked familiar. I frowned as Daniel responded with a brief greeting, and the maid led us toward the garden where the ceremony was set to take place. “Do you feel okay? You’re looking really pale. Should I check up on you?” Daniel asked in a low whisper. I turned to him, noticing the slight worry in his eyes. Even Sebastian and Julian look

Valentina pov The ride was steeped in silence. No one spoke. Daniel and Sebastian looked awkward, constantly glancing at each other as if silently communicating, while Julian appeared almost bored, lazily crossing his legs as he yawned and scrolled through his phone. Alexander wasn’t here with us. When I woke up this morning, he was already gone, and Martha had told me he had an important business matter to attend to. He would meet us later at the engagement ceremony. To be honest, I didn’t know how I felt right now, but I was restless. I wasn’t sure if it had to do with what happened between Alexander and me again, or perhaps it was something else—maybe it was the place we were going to. Either way, I didn’t feel good. My heart pounded heavily against my chest, my palms were sweaty, and I felt sick, especially with the persistent headache throbbing in my head. “Ugh, I should have asked for some medicine before I left,” I muttered under my breath, closing my eyes and rubbi

Alexander pov I grunted as I pushed into her, and almost immediately, Valentina’s walls clenched around my dick, gripping me like she was made just for me. Fuck, she was tight. The first time I’d fucked her, she’d been just as tight. It had been hard for her to take me fully back then, but this time, she seemed more relaxed, letting me slide almost all the way in. Almost. My hand reached out, grabbing both of her legs that were dangling beside me, giving her a moment to adjust to my dick. Valentina’s eyes were shut, her lips parted, her back arched, and her breath coming in ragged gasps as she gripped the sheets beneath her. I had never seen anything hotter than this — the sight of her trying to take it all, her bare body laid out before me, waiting to be fucked. It was fucking intoxicating. Shit, I was barely holding myself back from slamming into her right then and there. “Mmmm,” Valentina moaned, and before I even realized it, she had started moving her hips on

Valentina povA breathless gasp escaped my lips as Alexander stripped the dress from my body, leaving me bare. His hand parted my legs with a rough urgency, while his other arm wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling me flush against him—against the undeniable hardness straining for release.Fuck.My bra was gone in an instant, and Alexander’s mouth found its way to my nipple. I bit my bottom lip, eyes fluttering shut as his sinful tongue flicked over the sensitive peak before his teeth grazed it just enough to send a sharp jolt straight to my core—leaving me breathless, trembling beneath him. Before I could stop myself, my fingers threaded into his hair, but in the next second, he pulled away, seizing both my wrists and pinning them above my head. His dark gaze bore into me, setting my body ablaze with nothing more than the sheer intensity of it.I wanted him. • The Mafia Don's obsession    61|Valentina is a distraction.

Alexander pov Drugs, weapons, and death. Those were the three words that defined the mafia. When I was younger, father would always sit me down and remind me that nothing was more important than staying on top. "Emotions are a weakness, Alexander. Something the likes of us cannot afford. They’re a distraction—nothing more than a fleeting delusion meant for humans. But you are not human. You are a monster, a creature of the darkness, and that is what you must be to everyone… even your family, even your child. Because your own blood might be the first to stab you in the back." Emotions were a distraction, something I couldn’t afford—not now, not ever. I had made too many enemies to allow myself to slip up. I had to stay focused, always on alert, because one mistake could lead to my death, the fall of my empire, and worst of all, my son’s demise. I knew this. It had been etched into my mind from day one. So tell me, why was she—the one I should despise for having my enemy’s blood
