His eyes which had been heavy with lust sharpened and became distant.

He nodded, but his eyes were on my body, hungry again.

He made to grab me but I held him away, moving further back,

‘You did not tell me.’ I said my voice wobbling.

There was a long silence. When he spoke, I knew it was Lucien Delano the Boss, speaking.

‘Are you planning to cage me and prevent me from doing what I want to do, woman?’ he said, his voice quiet and silky and I stiffened.

I knew it was impossible. He was a man who was free and would always do what he wanted. I had fallen in love with him, had created three marvellous children with him.

It was too late to try and cage the lion he was, wild and powerful.

Untameable.

That was what he was, that was what he would be, no matter how much I wanted him to change. I bowed my head slightly. It was a dangerous road. If I chose to stand my ground, there would be conflict. Did I want that?
