Chapter 19

Violet's POV

With the short footsteps of one of the men, my body was damp, and the floor was dusty and smelly, making it hard for me to breathe as the water came in contact with it, the dust choked me and I didn't know when I started coughing.

I used my good hand to support myself in a sitting position, as I kept on coughing.

Two men walked up to me and grabbed my upper arm and placed me on an iron chair with a wooden seat.

I used my good hand to take my hair off my face, I heard a click of fingers, and the next thing a bright light shone in my position almost blinding my eyes and I used both hands to protect my eyes from getting blind.

In a few minutes, my eyes adjusted to the light and I was able to open my eyes, but I couldn't see anyone's faces clearly.

No one said a word to me, for reasons I couldn't understand, and I knew they were looking at me, I was not some circus show doll or something because nothing here was funny.
