Gerald's POV

I pile all the books by author and make sure didn't forgot anything. After my biological father decided to be a father and filled his shortcomings as father I gave him a chance, a chance to prove he's sorry. I don't wanna become cruel, and hate him forever.

"I didn't know you cherish these books so much," I was stopped from piling all the books when father spoke behind me.

I didn't sense him, "You love popping up, don't you? I started getting used to it, and treat you a ghost."

"You really are my child," he answered.

"Why? You're not certain about me being your son because of my way of talking?" I said when turning back my gaze to the pile of books in front of me.

"Perhaps."

Silence prevailed between us and he didn't speak. I was confused why he suddenly become quiet. That is why I turn around to confront him and saw how sad his eyes were, which is confusing to me.
