Fabian's patience wore thinner. "Talk!" he snarled.

The smirk wavered off Santos' face. "I-I know nothing."

Mikel did not take his eyes off Santos while Fabian turned violent.

But Mikel intervened. "Fabian, stop."

He pulled Fabian back.

"It's true, he knows nothing."

Fabian's eyes blazed. "You expect me to believe that?"

Mikel's face remained placid.

"Santos is telling the truth."

Fabian's anger ebbed away, leaving desperation behind.

Mikel let Santos go. Santos scampered away in fear.

Fabian clenched his fists.

"Dead end," he muttered.

Mikel laid a calming hand on his shoulder.

"We'll find another lead."

Fabian's frustration boiled over.

He punched the wall. "Ah!"

Mikel caught Fabian's arm. "Mr. Antonio! Hold!"

Fabian's eyes blazed with anger.

Mikel held tight. "Stop, sir. You'll hurt yourself."

Fabian's chest rose and fell.

Reason slowly replaced ire.

"You're right."

Mikel released Fabian's arm.

"We'll regroup, reassess."

Fabian nodded. "We have to find Loretta."
