I stared at the letter in my hands in disbelief.

An invitation from the Council of Werewolves to appear as a witness tomorrow at the trial against Princess Cissy, a case initiated by Xanne! The complaint reads: attempted murder and insulting of the Royal Princess.

Moon Goddess!

I scan the lines once more. No one had prepared me for this. The last time I spoke with my father, he mentioned that his investigation was ongoing and that the Council granted him a one-month extension.

And here I receive this summons to appear in court, long before the deadline has expired.

'No!' Xan roared in my head. 'No one touches my mate! I swear to you, Harad, I'll kill them all. If the Council dares to sentence Cissy to death, they will experience my power. As my name is Xan, and with ancestors dating back to the creation of the earth!"
