A few weeks later...

There was a knock on the door and Mia frowned, looking at the door.

"Are you expecting anyone?" She asked, Emma still with a frown on her face.

"I think so." Emma said, sheepishly and Mia raised her brows.

"I'll get the door." Mia said, placing the basket of farm produce in her hands on the table.

During the past weeks, she had taken on odd jobs to get more money.

The money she had stolen from Audrey was being depleted.

A few seconds later, Mia opened the door and a handsome man came into view.

"Hi there." Jonathan said, with a smile.

"May I speak to Emma?" He asked. His smile was beautiful and Mia was a bit entranced.

She then turned to look at Emma who had already seen Jonathan.

"I'll take over from here." Emma said, standing up to her feet.

As she passed by Mia, the maid whispered, "Be careful."

Emma nodded her head, discreetly and walked out of the door.
