Jasper

The sleep that had been wanting to engulf me flew out of the window when I heard him.

What the hell was my brother plotting?

“Kill the Vampire lord?”

I repeated, wanting to ensure that I was not hearing things.

Edriel shrugged, “Killing would maybe be taking things a bit too far, but subduing him maybe?”

I scoffed.

My brother had lost it.

I slid the sheets aside and looked at him pointedly, furrowing my eyebrows.

"What do you really want, Edriel?”

My gaze was sharp, piercing and though he was elder than me, I knew I could make him uneasy.

He was jealous of me since childhood but knew better than to mess with me a lot. But he would get his satisfaction in little things such as getting a rise out of me.

A way to boost his ego, I guess.

And as long as it was harmless and just borderline annoying, I would let him.

He was family after all, or whatever was left of it.

“I want to be the next King, Jasper. Simple as that”

Edriel answered and I shook my head. My eldest brother was not

JasperI read through the pages carefully, committing every little thing to memory.I was surprised to see no mention of his romantic life or partners there. Did they have mates or did they marry?I was unsure but I knew they lived for a long long time, just like us so we kept away from them.Just like the fae king. Or the head of the witches.Goddess, there were so many enemies to deal with but I was going to tackle them one step at a time. For now, my attention was going to be on the Vampire Lord-Ivan Henzler. He ruled over the vampires and also had a penchant for carrying around humans on leash- his personal 24/7 blood bank.I raised the photo to look at him and saw that there was something sinister in the way he looked, something that was definitely wrong. But, I couldn't say that I was not broken either. We left each other alone and had signed an agreement that didn’t sit quite well with the other supernaturals.Particularly, this Ivan. There was a knock on the door and I spoke ‘

CeliaI was not sure what emboldened me to say that but I bit my lip nervously as Jasper’s gaze locked on mine.A low growl left his lips as he looked at me with those smoldering hot eyes and replied,“Seduce me”I blinked furiously trying to understand if he was not playing tricks with me. This could not be real. He did not say that. I was hallucinating.“Excuse me?” I blurted out, realizing he had said something highly sexy without making it sound like it...like an alpha would claim his title as if it was merely for decoration.“You want the job, right? You want to volunteer for the task. Show me how worthy you are”Jasper quipped, his voice still having the same husky tone to it. He gave me an even look and waited for my reaction or rebuttal.I swallowed nervously as butterflies suddenly fluttered in my stomach.Jasper was just in his shorts and I had been wanting to touch him, my hands ached to feel those hard muscles on his chest but I did not want to jump on him like a lusting

CeliaThe thought excited me as heat pooled around my core, melting me from the inside out.I was wet already and I knew he could smell me. Goddess, I was such a pathetic weakling. When I did not reply, he bent forward and gave me another smoldering hot kiss before pulling away, still holding my lower lip between his own before releasing it.'Nooo, don't let go of me...bring back those lips on mine.' Of course, I said that in my head, not out loud.I would sound like a bleating goat if I tried speaking a word for my throat felt dry.My heart was racing, it could definitely defeat a cheetah in a race right now.My eyes had fluttered shut and I was so lost in the sensation that it took me a second to open my eyes and meet his gaze.My nerves were all tingling and I felt as if there would never be another face I would want to look at, another pair of lips I would want to assault me.The dark prince was just as alluring as he was mysterious. His kisses were both gentle and hard, bruising

CeliaHe growled, his voice coming out huskier than it had before. I pushed myself forward, barely, and was awarded with another kiss as he pulled me in.This time there was no gentleness to him. He grabbed me and in a minute, pinned me to the bed, turning us both around in an instant, and flipping me over. Both his hands held my wrist, pinning me to the bed as he lowered himself upon me.“I just wanted to know…”I croaked an answer as the nearness with him made me swallow nervously. The Lycan’s hold on me was not gentle and I feel him part my legs as a nervous energy crackled through me.I was wearing just a flimsy nightgown and did not have anything under it. Now that I was lying on my back, I could feel my nipples grow hard with the strain of him having so near. They would tear out of my nightgown any moment as my traitorous body gave in to him.He slightly parted my legs with his knees, just enough to make room for himself. But he was a man hulk so he did require a lot of space.

CeliaJasper kept sorting and shuffling through the papers and did not even look up to meet my gaze. That angered me even more as he replied,“I just stated the fact. You cannot let your guard down in front of the Vampire Lord, he won’t be so gentle…or careful with you”He said while turning the paper around, reading through the other side as if we had not just finished reading that and his hands and lips had not been all over me.How the hell he could act so smug?“You were gentle?” I cried, my voice shaking, hell no, my entire body was shaking, “look at my neck, you practically sunk your teeth in there like a….”I started but stopped as I realized what he had been doing.Jasper blinked and feigned curiosity, “Like a…like a what? Complete your line, my lady”He muttered in an oddly calm voice, waiting for my answer. If I had been wanting him to kiss me senseless just a minute ago, now I just wanted to snap his neck. I wanted the moon goddess to give me the strength to strangle him wi

CeliaMatron Arwen looked very angry as she brandished the whip in the air. She seemed to enjoy whipping and when I looked to the other end, I also noticed that there were three more women who were cowering in fear.Just like Grace, they were sitting with their bare backs, which were colored red as Matron Arwen must have whipped them black and blue.“I know you girls have nothing better to do than gossip about the princes. Know your place. None of you are fit to even look at them forget even fantasizing about them”She spoke as she pulled the long whip towards her and began coiling it around her arm.The girls all were shivering in fear as they anticipated the next lash that would sting their back and bite into their skin, drawing blood. One of the other girls whimpered as she continued, “No no...Matron Arwen, my-my lady’s dress was a…a good choice”Matron Arwen seemed to start talking to herself as she muttered, “I wanted her to look just like the slut she was…but that bitch seemed t

CeliaI let out a shaky breath as I heard the King’s voice strong and imposing voice, “come in”Rain spoke in my head, “This is a bad idea”“Oh, now you decided to show up?” I grumbled in my head.“I always do when you are reckless, which you always are” She quipped.I rolled my eyes at her and she went silent again.I switched my attention to the scene in front of me. For a minute, I had been worried that I had simply shouted at Rain out loud and guards would come to grab me but nobody came to drag me out of my hiding spot so I was good.I knew I was being reckless and debated over my decision of slinking into the room and how was I going to do that without either of them noticing.Matron heard his voice and opened the door as she bowed politely again. She then held the tray in her hands, balanced it to distribute weight, and then walked inside the room.I had no idea where exactly the king was standing if there were other people inside and if they could see me slink in and simply lu

CeliaMy brain seemed to have momentarily shut off as I saw the Matron leave with the tray. The snacks had gone cold and were left untouched. Her earlier gait and confidence had completely disappeared. The last line spoken by the King had probably brought her to her senses and her confidence had deflated like a balloon that had been pricked by a needle. She walked away from the King who continued to look outside the window. Matron Arwen held the tray as she walked through the length of the room, her shoulders drooping and her head bent low.I would have felt sorry for her if I had not seen her whipping the maids just some time ago. ‘Eat that, bitch’ I spoke in my head as she walked with the speed of a snail and after what seemed like an eternity, stepped outside. The faint creak of the door was the only sound that echoed through the hall as she pulled the ornate door’s large handles and shut the door. And that made me realize what a stupid fool I had been.I had slipped into the room

Jasper I turned my head to look at her from a distance. I could see the nervousness in her gaze, in her body language. My gaze flicked to the guests, all of whom were looking at her. She cleared her throat, “Today is going to be a big day of my life. But before I take that step…I…I wanted to tell you all something.” Her gaze found mine and I only smiled at her. Before she could speak another word, one of the many people in the crowd placed a hand on his chest and bowed down to her. Celia was stunned and watched him In surprise. Behind her, Nymeria, Xenos, and Vasil were slowly descending the stairs too. Following the first person, a few more did the same- place a hand on their chest, their heart to be precise, and bowed to her, going down on one knee. “What is going on?” She asked In a low voice. Soon, everybody followed suit. In a matter of minutes, the entire crowd was on its knees, bowing to her. Her eyes flicked to me and I too did the same gesture. Placing my hand on my

JasperI cleared my throat and looked down at the crowd of people who had come to witness the wedding. There had been no happy event or celebration in the palace after my birth. That day had been a day of celebration but Isadora had turned it into a nightmare. And after all those years, finally, we were having a moment to rejoice. But as I watched the hopeful eyes of the people surrounding me, I could not shake the uneasy feeling gnawing at me.I had to get rid of it. And the only way to do that was to be honest. For a confused moment, I stood on the stairs, looking at the excited faces of the people around me.My gaze flicked to my father and brothers, all of whom were smiling proudly at me.“Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention please?” I asked in a loud voice, turning even those heads that had been momentarily distracted while looking at the grandeur of the palace.“First of all, I would like to thank you all for being present today. Frankly, I did not expect so many of

JasperThe huge room suddenly felt too small and the air in the world did not seem enough to fill my lungs.Celia had spoken something, but I was too busy staring at her.My heartbeat was roaring in my ears as I took in her beauty that shone radiantly, nothing short of a thousand lanterns. Her face looked distraught and her eyes were red, her cheeks puffed up. Her makeup had smeared a little too.But despite that, she looked like an angel. A Goddess.I had only seen her in her usual gowns and training clothes, but this marvel…this was just for me.For a minute, I simply stood in front of her, drinking her features. How could she be so blissfully ignorant of what she was doing to me by just standing there in that beautiful dress?I took a step forward, and I saw a tear trickle down her eye.“Shh, don’t cry,” I said softly, reaching for her face and cupping it. And when I did, a surge of electricity rippled through me.My Lycan roared in my head, feeling exhilarated to see her all dolle

CeliaDread settled in my heart when Xenos and Nymeria revealed my life’s biggest secret. My whole life had been a lie?But then what about the people I grew up with thinking they were my parents?Nothing made sense anymore, and I only stared blankly at Xenos.“Is…is that true?”I asked, and he nodded. “There is a reason I never found the courage to tell you all of this earlier. And to be sure that I was not guessing it all wrong, I asked Nymeria to allow me to show her that memory, too. I touched her and with her permission, I looked through her memories…childhood memories, to be specific. There was no trace of me or Isadora in it.”My heart felt like it would break into a million pieces.“But then, how could I never do magic? I never sensed it and…and then why was I not able to fight her when she…she killed me?”I was sobbing hysterically and Nymeria’s face looked like she was cursing herself for ruining my day.She apologized over a thousand times that she did not want me to learn

Celia "Are you going to tell her, or should I?" Nymeria's question hung in the air like a storm cloud, casting a palpable tension in the room. I looked from Nymeria to Xenos, confusion and a growing sense of foreboding twisting in my chest. Their solemn expressions conveyed that something grave was afoot. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, my heart beginning to race. "Tell me what?" I pressed, my voice laced with unease. Xenos, usually a man of few words, hesitated for a moment. His eyes held mine for a second longer than I expected, and I could see a mix of guilt and apprehension in them. He opened his mouth to speak but closed it again, the weight of his unspoken words lingering in the room. Nymeria, her expression torn between sympathy and responsibility, finally broke the silence. "Celia, there's something you need to know." I felt a shiver crawl down my spine. The room, once filled with warmth and camaraderie, had now become suffocating with uncertainty. My thoughts raced as

CeliaThe grand lycan palace was alive with anticipation, every corner adorned with flowers and delicate decorations in celebration of our wedding day. Two weeks had passed in a blur since the night Jasper had proposed to me in front of my pack. And every day after that seemed like a dream to me. I would wake up and pinch myself, wondering if it was all my imagination. But it was true, every single moment of it…just like today. The air was thick with the sweet scent of blooming roses, and the palace echoed with laughter and the sound of joyous conversations. In my room, the one I used to live in before I moved in with Jasper, a sense of nervous excitement filled the room as I sat before a beautifully crafted vanity mirror, surrounded by my maids and my dear friend, Nymeria. Their skilled hands moved with grace, tending to every detail to transform me into the radiant bride I aspired to be.The maids began to braid my long, dark hair, weaving flowers and jewels into it.As their nimble

"Are you guys ever coming out?" Jasper called with a good-natured grin, standing a few paces away from the porch. He had his hands placed on the doorframe and looked at us with his eyes furrowed as he saw Vasil holding my hand which I gave a gentle squeeze.“Don’t forget what I told you. Think about it,” I added, looking at Vasil while getting up from the chair.Jasper folded his hands over his chest and asked, “What secret are you guys discussing?”Vasil too got up from his chair and gave my arm a light squeeze.“Of course. And just so you know, if he ever hurts you or makes you sad, you know where to find me.”“Ha ha ha, very funny, bloodsucker,” Jasper replied humorlessly and looked at me to indicate that he wanted me to come out of the room.Vasil outstretched his hand as if to say, “After you” and I looked at him with my eyes wide, “Why are you always mean to him?”Jasper grinned, “He tried to take you from me. Am I not great for letting him live?”Vasil, who was just behind me,
