I could see the displeasure in her face like she wasn’t really in support of what I had just said. I knew I had to do more than just ask for a truce.

“Please. All that happened in the past, I would love it if you can put it behind you. I know it hurt you back then and it still hurts you, but please… Even if it’s on my behalf, let’s just call it a truce. Please let’s start on a new note, and I promise you, things would be much better.” I said to her, hoping she would consider my plea now that I had brought it out to her humbly without a hint of pride as well.

Estelle scoffed and moved around a bit until she came to a halt.

“You think it’s that easy? To be sent out of a pack you call your home, not even bothered to know how my family and I could have weathered through the storm. I mean, we could have died, but if not because of the moon goddess’ immense love for us, who knows? You would have forgotten me and probably remember me when you die.”
