Gianna's POV
"Dane, I can explain... I." I trailed off when he glanced at me for a moment then continued wiping the sides of his mouth.
My mouth suddenly felt heavy and bitter and it was worse because his mind was blank. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, I didn't even know he already knew the secret I was hiding, being embarrassed was an understatement to how I felt right now.
He smiled. "It's fine" He waved it off like it was nothing since he already knew I was lying.
It wasn't fine, he had already discovered a huge chunk about my past and this was something I wanted to tell him myself and I was worried by the fact that he was so calm and cool about it when he was supposed to be shouting the whole house down.
That was the Dane I knew, the man I was mated to.
The man sitting in front of me wasn't Dane and it made me so scared as I wrapped my hands around my body for comfort.
