HADES POV
I tapped my fingers continuously in a rhythm as I gazed down at the stage below. My eyes were glued on the figure that had her head down, her hair is white, just like the little tattered dress that did nothing to hide her small body. “Ladies and gentlemen, our next item is a true prize among our ranks. I present to you a pure breeder”. A breeder, huh? I tilted my head with a frown as her scent- lavender and a mixture of honey continued to draw me in, almost like a spell, igniting my senses. “Item twenty five is rare, breeders like her have an extraordinary ability to pass on formidable traits, ensuring that any offspring will be powerful and resilient. Her bloodline is a rare treasure-one that can elevate any pack to greatness”. “Bidding starts at one hundred silver!”. “Three hundred sliver!” “Five hundred!” “Mate” Cyrus, who had been quiet since we got here, suddenly growled in my mind, making me scoff. “No”. “What do you mean no?” Cryus asked menacingly. “I can't smell a wolf in her- she's weak and a breeder too” I replied casually and for a while Cyrus didn't say anything as I continued watching, accessing her. I sighed, drumming my fingers on the table. I’d come here with high hopes, convinced I would finally find what I’d been searching for. Just a scrap of information would have made this trip worthwhile. But once again, I’d hit a dead end. And to top it off, I was bound to an utterly useless mate. Her head snapped up to my direction and I watched as her completely white eyes widened in shock before she quickly kept her head down. Great, she was blind too. “You seem to like her, King.” I turned to the voice. My Beta, Draven, looked at me with a big smile on his face but I didn't answer. “Eight hundred sliver!” The auctioneer yelled. “Do you want to buy her?” Draven asked again and I shook my head. “No”. “So you are going to ignore our mate just because you think she is useless” I acted like I didn't hear Cyrus going crazy, trying to take over. Cyrus, the strongest crystal wolf in the world was currently fighting for control, he's a powerful beast but I easily won over the internal struggle. “Hundred thousand sliver” I looked over at the owner of the new voice— A white-haired old man raised his sign up as he stared lewdly at the girl on the stage. I stopped tapping the table and narrowed my eyes at the old bastard. Suddenly I had the irresistible urge to pluck out his eyes. “Hundred thousand sliver. Any higher?” "Who is he?" I asked, and Draven followed my gaze. "Alpha Watson," Draven answered beside me. "He’s got a line of girls who never seem to last. His reputation is dark, and anything but honorable." I frowned and glanced back at the girl, she hadn't even raised her head up ever since– like this had nothing to do with her. She was different from the others that appeared scared. This was the one the Moon Goddess bestowed to me? I leaned back and watched in slight amusement. “Do I hear two hundred thousand, does anyone want to pay two hundred thousand for this premium good” No one raised their number up, I could see the sickening smirk on the bastard's face when he thought he had won. “Please Hades,” Cyrus desperately pleaded in my head. “She can be useful to us so don't let anyone else take her”. I don't reply. “Two hundred slivers, going once, going twice…” Silence reigned as the gavel was about to strike the wooden podium. “One million sliver” My voice rang out and instantly the crowd turned to me. The once silent room erupted into a frenzy of voices, murmurs rippled through the crowd but no one dared to outbid me. For the second time that night, she finally raised her head and looked at me. She couldn't see but it felt like she could as she stared into my eyes. “The Lycan king?” “He bought the breeder” “Sold!” The auctioneer’s grin widened as he brought the gavel down. I stood up and took my coat from the chair, ignoring the whispers. “Bring the girl to the car” I told Draven as I walked out of the auction house. It was boring and there was no use staying there any longer. I entered the black limo and poured myself a glass of whiskey from the bar while I waited. Ten minutes later, I watched Draven walk to the car with the girl trailing behind him. She looked fragile, a small wind could easily sweep her off her feet. Nuisance was what she screamed, I was already regretting this decision of mine. Draven opened the door and I watched her hesitate for a moment, he brought his hand to her back in a reassuring manner and she relaxed a bit under his touch. I raised my eyebrow as Cyrus growled, wanting to surge out to claim her right there. When she entered the car, she crawled into a ball to the farthest corner away from me, making herself seem as small as possible. I took a swig of whiskey and watched her with narrowed eyes. From up close, she was prettier. White hair, white eyes and a white dress. She looked like a ghost; not fit to stand by my side as Luna, not fit to be my mate, fit to warm my bed- maybe but with how skinny and weak she looked, she would break easily. “Your name” I asked, my tone lazy. Her head was down and she didn't reply at first, getting me angry. I wasn't a patient man in the first place and I didn't have time for a timid she-wolf. I brought my hand to grip her by the chin, tilting her head up. She gasped, her eyes moving frantically. “Your. Name. I don't like repeating myself” “Davina,” She whispered timidly. My gaze lingered on her lips— soft, parted, drawing me in without even trying. I wondered how they’d taste, the thought alone sent a slow heat through me, daring me closer. I tilted her neck to the side and leaned against her neck, sniffing her intoxicating scent. It took me a few seconds to finally release her with a frown. "When we arrive at the pack, you’ll follow my every rule without question. Do what you’re told. Don’t speak unless spoken to. Keep your head down unless I allow otherwise and do not make your presence known”. I paused, letting the silence stretch, watching as each word sank in. "And above all," I leaned closer, my voice low and threatening, "No one can know you’re my mate." I saw her flinch at the word ‘mate’. We are now inches apart, I could feel a force pulling me to her, inviting me to break the little space between us and take her right there. “Break any of these rules, and I’ll make you wish for the mercy of death." I said, leaning back while letting the full weight of my gaze settle on her. "Is that clear, slave?"Davina’s POVThe Lycan King is my mate.I felt my heartbeat racing with each passing second, I tried to control my breathing and appear as small as possible away from him but when he leaned closer, I felt an intense spark from his touch alone, and a foreign sensation pulled between my legs, invoking a moan from within me.I held my breath and replayed his earlier words in my head. “No one can know you’re my mate” I swallowed and my heart tightened in pain. Why didn't reject me instead? Even if he didn't necessarily reject me, I could still feel the slight pain of rejection coursing through me.He didn't seem like he wanted me and he could have left me at the auction house if he didn't want anyone to know I was his mate so why did he buy me.My stomach dropped as a thought flashed through my mind. I closed my legs tighter and raised up my head slightly towards his direction but quickly looked down when I felt his eyes on me.He had remained silent during the rest of the journey. He ha
HADES POV“Claim her, Hades” Cyrus's voice resonated within me, almost like the devil tempting one to do its bidding.“I know you want her, Hades. You want to take her– to feel her” “Let's mark her, Hades. I want to feel her warmth. Her scent is driving me insane” Cyrus spoke again with an impatient growl but I ignored him, fingers flipping through the pages and eyes scanning the content of the file yet my mind was clouded with other thoughts.I couldn't pay the slightest attention to what I was reading but it didn't seem that what I was looking at was worthy of my attention either. Another waste of time, I frowned and narrowed my eyes.“Your majesty, the first agender today is the allocation of resources” The royal advisor announced with a loud voice. I didn't raise my head– only continued flipping through the poor attempt of a proposal with an unimpressed expression.“Your majesty, we need to allocate more funds to the northern region. More packs are being attacked by rogues and su
Davina’s POV “Get her cleaned up” Emmanuel ordered and I held the hem of my dress tighter. “Make sure she is properly dressed too and give her suppressant, she must not get pregnant since she will be spending the night with the Lycan king”. I froze the moment those words were uttered. A chill ran down my spine, my heart pounding in my chest. Every nerve in my body went rigid as my mind scrambled to process the weight of what had just been said. Did I hear wrong? Suppressant? Spending the night with the Lycan king? My legs almost gave way but I stretched my hand out to hold onto anything that was near me– I touched a hard surface and I held the edge of the table, keeping my body steady to stop myself from falling. "Oh, Moon Goddess. Is that true? What could the Lycan King possibly see in her?" one of the girls murmured, her words heavy with disbelief. I could feel their stares pressing down on me and they carried a weight of judgment and resentment. "Right? She looks like
HADES POV I rushed through the corridor, the sound of my footsteps muffled by the thick carpet. The air was suffocating, it felt like I was drowning. I couldn't breathe but I couldn't stop. I had to get to them—had to reach them before it was too late. As I ran, the air was thick with tension, heavy with the scent of something darker—blood. Lifeless bodies laid sprawled across the ground, ruined, mutilated and broken— left forever in the cold embrace of death. It was a sight that would leave even the goddess in tears. “Prince!” As I turned the corner, the warriors followed closely behind, urging me to turn back, that it was too dangerous but I didn't stop, I couldn't. “Please…” I silently begged as I stopped at the grand doors of the throne room. Blood splattered on the door and my heart lurched in my chest at the sight. I hesitated. It was a brief moment but I hesitated as I stood frozen in place. I couldn't bring myself to do it, I didn't want to open that door bec
Davina’s POVWas I going to die? Right here and right now, by the hands of my mate?I stopped struggling and closed my eyes as the world around me faded with every passing second. My breath grew shallow and I knew I was going to die. But was that… a bad thing? At least the pain and suffering would finally come to an end. But then, “I will find you, Sebastian. I promise”. For a split moment, I saw him and my chest tightened in pain as I thought about the promise I made to Sebastian, my younger brother. A promise I won't be able to fulfill.Just as I was slipping into unconsciousness, his hand loosened and he let go of my neck. My legs gave way and I fell to the ground, coughing and trying to gasp for air. My throat burned and tears threatened to fall but I held them back, refusing to cry yet I couldn't help as my body shook in fear as a thought flashed through my head– he would have killed me if he hadn't stopped a second sooner.I felt his presence close to me and a finger lifted my
Davina’s POV“Protect your brother, Davina. I am counting on you”Mother’s words echoed in my mind, and I watched as she shifted and charged towards the rogues without hesitation– I knew what was about to unfold, but I couldn’t stop myself from yelling, pleading for her to flee with Sebastian and me. She didn’t listen. I closed my eyes, unable to witness the scene that was bound to happen. When I opened them back, the scene changed. I found myself standing before Father and Mother. A strangled sob escaped my lips as I ran to hug them, desperate to feel their warmth again but– they pushed me away. They glared at me with hatred in their eyes, and I flinched from their gaze as they cursed and blamed me.“You failed us! You didn’t protect your brother! He is dead because of you, you!”“No… that's not true” I pleaded as tears clouded my vision, my heart shattering at the words that aimed to break me– to leave me utterly defeated.“You survived all by yourself, you left everyone to die. It'
Davina’s POV That instant when a sensation creeps over you, sending a shiver down your spine, and suddenly, you know you’re doomed. That’s exactly what I was feeling now. The whispers grew louder, and I could feel everyone’s stares on me, their gazes tinged with an emotion that made me uneasy. Was it... pity? “Poor girl, she's probably going to end up like the last one” “Hey, as long as it isn't us” Yes, I was indeed doomed. Eva stepped in front of me and spoke to Emmanuel, "But she's new. I don’t think it’s right for her to serve under the Lycan King, especially since she’s... blind." She hesitated, the word blind lingering awkwardly in the air. "King’s orders, Eva. Now, please, don’t bother me—I’m not exactly in what you'd call a good mood at the moment." Eva opened her mouth to speak, but I stopped her by holding her hand. “I understand. What should I do first?” I asked, hearing the satisfied hum of approval. It didn’t matter if I had to serve under Hades. I was leaving t
Hades POVI had woken up to a fucking boner.I stared at my sweats, a frown pulling at my lips as the air around me grew colder with each passing second. This time I had a dream– the dream had been about her, and when I woke up, the physical reaction to it was undeniable, pressing uncomfortably against the fabric of my pants.I had dreamt vividly about last night when I ordered her to strip, her figure seemed to be imprinted in my mind. I could remember the curves of her breasts in that bra, her slender waist, and enticing hips. This time, I didn't stop her as she began to undress completely. Instead, I listened to Cyrus urging to have her. I kissed her until she was breathless and I took her right there on my bed until her screams of pleasure echoed throughout the room.Running my hand through my hair, I sighed. What was happening to me? The effect of the mate bond was getting harder to resist, especially to Cyrus, he was getting much harder to control. Normally, I had full control
Hades pov.Waston’s eyes widened in horror at my words, and he stumbled back as if I had physically struck him.“What?” he muttered in disbelief.I tilted my head slightly, narrowing my gaze, my expression cold and unreadable. Silence stretched between us like a taut string. Then he broke it.“M-My King, this must be a misunderstanding. Surely, I would never—”I raised a hand, cutting him off mid-sentence, and stepped forward, holding out the wine.“Then explain this to me. Why would your beta try to poison my drink with wolfsbane? How do you explain this, Waston?”I glanced at the bastard I had just killed moments ago, my eyes settling on the severed head of a man who had no idea his end was coming.Waston followed my gaze, and I saw the way his body tensed as he stared at his beheaded beta.Without a word, I walked over to the head on the ground and crouched down to its level, tilting my head as I studied the man's wide, lifeless eyes. I pointed at it, then looked at Waston with an
Hades pov.“Two choices?” I repeated, my voice laced with confusion. The moon goddess nodded, her gaze unwavering as she stared at me.“You have to make a decision between two choices," she said, her tone serious. "And either choice you pick will change everything. It will have an effect in one way or another in your life”I raised a brow and frowned, my gaze shifting away from her. It wasn’t fear or nervousness that made me look away, but even with her aura suppressed, staring at her for too long strained my vision. After breaking down in tears earlier, the goddess had comforted me, and maybe because she was the mother of all werewolves, I felt every ounce of pain and frustration pour out of me at that moment. It was a release I hadn’t known I needed. I couldn’t even remember the last time I had cried. After my parents' deaths, I had locked away every sign of weakness— including my tears.“What do you mean? Could you tell me what choice I would have to make?” I asked. The goddess's
Hades pov. “Moon Goddess.” The words slipped from my mouth before I could stop them, and I froze, my eyes locked onto the woman before me. She was exactly as I remembered— unchanged, untouched by time. The same presence that had left everyone speechless that day, the same piercing eyes that seemed to strip away all privacy, as if she could read every thought in my mind. And that same knowing smile, the one she wore when she named me king instead of Thorne. It was all there. “Hades, my child… my favorite child.” Her smile widened as she gazed at me, an unsettling warmth in her eyes. My expression remained unreadable as I bowed my head in respect. There was only one being in this world that a king could bow to— only one deity worthy of such reverence. Not a mere person, but the Moon Goddess herself. The mother of all werewolves. “Greetings to the goddess,” I said, my voice cold. Almost immediately, I heard a light, amused chuckle. She lowered herself gracefully and sat onto the f
Hades pov.“Alpha Watson will be here shortly, my king. He apologizes for the delay, he wasn’t aware you would be arriving,” the man before me bowed his head respectfully. I waved him off nonchalantly, too preoccupied with the words that girl had said earlier in the car."With his hands, my king."I frowned, my fingers instinctively drumming against the chair— an unconscious habit whenever I needed to think.A kid had broken a wall that had remained unbroken for years? I didn’t need to think too deeply to know this was the same child Thorne was using to kill my Alphas. This wasn’t the first time I had heard whispers about him from survivors."He was merciless. He killed without blinking, he tore through people like they were nothing to him. But… he saved me. I don’t know why. He killed everyone but spared me.""He didn’t touch me. He told me to run and never look back. He spared most of the children, like me.""He was cruel, a monster. I can still remember how he tore the Alpha’s head
Hades pov.Despite keeping my eyes shut, I could still sense her gaze on me— stealing glances before quickly looking away in fear. The rhythmic drumming of my fingers against the seat came to an abrupt stop as my frown deepened. I opened my eyes, staring into the distance before shifting my gaze to the slave I had bought at the auction house.Earlier, when I stepped into the car, I was surprised to find the little slave crouched to the side, trembling. That was when I remembered her. I had told her to leave, to return to her pack, making it clear that I had no intention of taking her with me. But instead of leaving, she had fallen to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded— insisting that she had offended me. The desperation in her voice had genuinely taken me by surprise.“Go home to your family, you’ve been released,” I had told her back then, but her response was,“No, my king. I have no family to return to, and if I leave, I’ll only be captured again and forced int
Draven pov.“Your dinner is ready! Look, I made your favorite meal, Draven. Remember how much you used to love it when I cooked for you?”My mate— no, the woman before me spoke with a bright smile, placing the freshly cooked porridge on the table, her eyes filled with eagerness for me to try it.I stared at the porridge for a moment, my gaze cold, a tired frown tugging at my lips. With a slow shake of my head, I pushed the bowl away, my eyes flickering back to her.“You’re not real,” I repeated, for what felt like the hundredth time. “You are not my mate. You are not here. And this… this isn’t real.”Her smile faltered for a split second before she quickly masked it, forcing a cheerful expression back onto her face."Draven, please…" she whispered, her voice trembling slightly, almost sounding rehearsed as she pushed the bowl back toward me. "Just try it. I made it just for you."I clenched my jaw, my fists tightening on my lap as I stared at her— at the woman who wore my mate's face,
Davina pov.I gasped, my eyes snapping open as I stared up at the stark white ceiling, my heart pounding wildly against my chest, sweat trickling down my face. The room was eerily silent, except for the steady ticking of the clock. Yet, with each passing second, the sound grew louder, almost deafening, as if it were counting down to something— something unknown, something inevitable."Where am I?" I murmured to myself, blinking as I tried to recall what had happened. But it felt like something was blocking the memory—so close yet just out of reach.Clank! The sound of something shattering on the ground snapped my head in that direction, and I froze when I saw my mother's stunned expression, her eyes widening as she stared at me."Mother…" I murmured under my breath, my voice hoarse. In the blink of an eye, she ran toward me, pulling me into a tight embrace."Oh my goddess, Davina! Davina, you’re awake! You've been unconscious for a week now, and everyone was worried. I’m so glad you’r
Davina pov. My father always used to say that when you are close to death, your life flashes before your eyes in the form of a dream—like watching a movie. But this one shows everything: your past, your present, and the illusion of the future you long for. The future you would do everything to have. Maybe that explained why I was here—why they were all here. “Haha! You should have seen her face when she thought she could land a strike on me, only to end up flat on the ground.” I turned to my right, watching as my father laughed, clapping his hands in amusement, his eyes glistening with mischief. “Really, Dalton? Do you have to make fun of your daughter after knocking her down?” My mother shook her head in disapproval, shooting him a glare. “Hey, ‘knocking her down’ is a strong phrase. I was merely… training her, dear.” My father smirked before turning his gaze back to me. “Davina needs to learn how to fight and control her powers. She’s twenty-four—she needs to step up her game
Hades pov."I—I don't know where Thorne is, Your Majesty. Please believe me," he pleaded, his voice trembling with emotion.“Do you expect me to believe that?” I asked, my tone bored and empty as I released the bastard, letting him collapse to the ground with a soft thud. Without sparing him another glance, I walked to my seat, reached for the glass of wine, and took a slow sip. Resting my head on my hand, I narrowed my gaze at him.“Do you expect me to believe that you have no idea where you supply the women? Don’t take me for a fool, Valen. Or perhaps… you fear Thorne too much to speak the truth, hm?” I drawled, lazily twirling the wine in my glass, a cold smirk curving my lips.“N-no, Your Majesty. That is not true—”“Or let me guess,” I cut him off, my voice turning sharp. “You’re one of those fools who worship Thorne. Who believe he is your true king, your savior, your rightful ruler. Is that it? Do you think the Moon Goddess made a mistake choosing me? That I stole my brother’s
