CAMERON

I halted on the spot as my gaze landed on the large footprint that was obviously not that of a werewolf. It was quite relieving that we were making progress on tracking the rogues as the rogue attacks were on the increase.

With a deep inhale, I sniffed the air in hopes to find more links to the attackers. My nose crinkled in disgust as I not only made out the rotten smell of rogues in the air, but also the empty smell of an ominous being. I was sure it belonged to someone more powerful than regular werewolves even though I am barely able to perceive its very faint aura that lingered somewhere in the air.

This wasn't good at all. Looking at it from another angle, these rogues probably had the support of a larger shifter, could be a werebear or even a Lycan. Whoever the bigger presence was, he was very skilled in covering his tracks only that it was almost impossible for a Lycan to leave traces. Could this mean that they wanted to be traced? I pondered on the possibilities.

CAMERON I joined Landon and his group alongside the three alphas that were with me. There were carcasses of rogues scattered around with the smell of rogue blood heavy in the air. Landon was still in his beast form. “Good job.” I spoke gruffly and swept past them with everyone following behind as we continued our mission to track the rogues. We hadn't gone too far when we came across another set of rogues. It looked like they were guarding another set that seemed to be their masters. We handled them like the rogues they were, dirty, smelly and useless. With a sense of urgency, we bursted into a large clearing with a small house situated in the middle and was greeted by an awful sight. Right before the front of the house was a group of female werewolves almost the size of a small pack with numerous chains entwined on their legs and hands that showed that they were been held captive. These she-wolves stared in horror as they watched the show an athletic man who stood before them was

CAMERON I allowed her to proceed with applying the contents of the bottle on my injury, its black liquid trailing down my arm, the potency of the lethal substance had weakened considerably and the injury was starting to heal faster - much faster though with my Lycan genes. My eyes continuously strayed from the injury to the dark haired woman applying the antidote. What in the name of doppelganger was happening here? I thought to myself. Landon too had stopped for a moment to take a good look at her. She looked like she was in her mid thirties even though her skin looked beaten up by the harsh weather and perhaps, untold sufferings. The green eyes, the long dark thick hair, their pale and smooth skin- this woman still had the looks even amidst hardship. I had a feeling that she would have a relationship of some sort with my mate. “Shit!” I muttered, guilt washing over me as I realized that I had not really had a heart to heart conversation with her save for very few exchanges. OLIVIA The air in the room was thick with tension. Luna Claire glared at me. Her features tightened in a frown and her eyes gleamed with disgust as they swept over me. I lowered my eyes to the ground, shifting uncomfortably. From the corner of my eyes I could see Lisa narrowing her eyes at me in annoyance alongside her friend, Bella, who was right beside her shooting me an icy glare. My eyes fell on Rowan, he was slouched on the couch next to his mother like he had not a care in the world. The news that I tried to seduce Rowan had reached the ears of the Luna. I knew that Bella or Lisa would report the matter to her but I really did not prepare to face her wrath.Luna Claire sent for Rowan immediately. She, of course, wanted to hear from the horse's mouth. Her face widened in shock as Rowan answered in the affirmative at the subject of me being his fated mate. Luna Claire laid back on the couch and propped herself on one elbow. Her eyes narrowed at me for a brief moment and the

LISA It would be an understatement to say I am displeased. I am as furious as hell about how this whole mate issue was playing out. Rowan doesn't seem bothered, if anything, he seemed to be very much pleased with his mother's decision. Everyone in the pack knew that Rowan liked Olivia. He had liked her for years now, even though his relationship with her had only been that of mere friends. Although he grew distant from her shortly after the loss of his father, our alpha. Their friendship went totally sour when Luna Claire picked me as her son's chosen mate so he could take over the pack. I never expected that this same Olivia would be fated to Rowan as he had been in search of his mate for over four years with no success.I suddenly feel a bit of guilt, wondering if I didn't do too much by hitting Olivia the previous day.Flashback Smack! My hands landed on the face of the girl I disliked the most in this pack. “How dare you attempt to seduce Jason?” I spat in rage. She looked

OLIVIA I walked into the large hall with Lily. She had insisted that she wasn't going to leave me all by myself in my room. She wasn't hearing any of the excuses I made to not attend the party.Lily is Lisa's younger sister, they are the present beta’s daughters. While Lily was calm and feisty, Lisa’s the opposite of her sister, loud and rude.“If you really want to go ahead with your rejection, then you should watch him mark Lisa. You would see yourself hating him for real.”Those were her words to me all through the day. Her idea of motivation marvelled me at times. She was always blunt at it with no hidden feelings. Lily had rejected her mate a few months back, on the very day she met him. She stumbled on him plunging ferociously into another she-wolf. I often wondered how she was able to cope.I had let her know that I would be rejecting Rowan. His regular sexual episodes with Lisa were getting to the height of it since the Luna's order. My chest burned and tightened with pain ea

CAMERON No sooner had I sat on the seat reserved for me, than my beast was on the verge of taking control. I fought hard to remain in control, releasing my Lycan aura as I reigned in my beast. Everyone bared their necks, submitting to my Lycan aura including the alphas present at the occasion except this beautiful werewolf. She stood straight and unbothered for a few seconds, then in the next, as though she realized herself, she bared her neck too in submission.Something about her that got me hooked. It was deeper than mere attraction, I was completely smitten by her. As my eyes darted to her every passing now and then, the desire to own her arose greatly inside of me.The oath taking commenced immediately after I made my entrance. I wore a bored expression all through as the ceremony was honestly boring. These werewolves were just too extra, doing too much at once. By the time the alpha had been sworn in with his Luna, I was already fed up with their shenanigans. I looked at the

ROWAN The ceremony came to an end much faster than I expected, all the hard work put into making it a success were productive. My days as the ‘acting’ alpha were over, I am now officially, the Alpha of Cold Moon pack. I felt different now, maybe it was the feeling that came with being an Alpha. I smirked.“My Alpha,” my Luna called sweetly, her eyes appealing to me seductively. I smiled at the beautiful woman sitting on the edge of my bed and was tempted to join her. But Echo, my wolf, gave a low growl of disapproval, he wanted his mate. With a shake of my head, I stepped forward and leaned to kiss her on the forehead. “Not tonight, Lisa.” I uttered softly, wiping the sweet smile off her face. Her eyebrows shot up at me questionably, “How do you mean?” She cupped my chin, drawing me closer to herself gently. “We should consummate our mating process tonight.” She pouted. “You're right! But not tonight.” The disbelief on her face was slowly turning to a frown. “Baby, we've had p

OLIVIA“Come on Via, you should calm down. Leaving the pack isn't the best option.” Lily said calmly, trying to talk me out of packing my things to leave the pack. “So what am I supposed to do now? Stay back and continue to see Rowan every other day?” I asked in a mean voice, as I continued to pack my stuff, not even throwing a glance at Lily. I picked only the necessary things, I didn't have much stuff anyway. I honestly would not like to remain here when Luna Claire finds out that I rejected Rowan last night. Although I have no place to go to, I still needed to get as far away from this pack as possible, now that they were still unaware of what had transpired in my room the day before. The door opened to reveal Lisa walking into the room. My heart did a flip as I got up to my feet, showing respect to her as the Luna of Cold Moon. Bella took a stance as she hovered at the door. “Look who's trying to run away, the alpha's precious little mistress.” Lisa taunted, her eyes glittered m

  • The Lycan Prince's Mate    CHAPTER NINETEEN

AVA Olivia was so angry that she couldn't remain in the house with the blonde bitch. I was sure I disliked her with everything in me but my human’s dislike for her greatly exceeded mine. We had just returned home after a good sprint in the woods. It was our regular way of putting away boredom as our mate was always unavailable and in the real sense, it helped us avoid the blonde as much as possible. Just as we thought we had succeeded for the day, my human ended up getting enraged by the blonde’s manipulative words. I figured she was going to return to the woods, so I took control and led us back to the woods. Right after she pulled off her clothes, I shifted, pushing her to the reccess. The very first time we shifted when we located this place, I surprisingly felt unexplainable energy burst through me. I felt much more stronger than the usual beta I was. I also discovered that I could pick up sounds much sharper and clearer than how I used to back then in my former pack. Whether

OLIVIA The days went by, and soon, it turned into weeks. With the frequent raiding of packs on the increase, Cameron had gotten so busy as he was often out to help the invaded packs and to apprehend the perpetrators. In order to see less of the blonde, I often locked myself in his suite except on days when I stepped out for a run. I discovered a route that led to the woods and it's been a very reliable way to kill boredom. This way, I've been able to avoid the annoying blonde that was practically everywhere only seeing her whenever Cameron was around and even at that, it's always irritating to see her act all nice and sweet around him. Right now, I badly needed a cold drink as today had me going on a running spree again. I had left the house almost at the same time Cameron had gone out to rescue a pack that was being attacked as at the time he was notified. In as much as I would prefer to head straight to the bathroom to take a cold bath, I made a beeline for the kitchen. “There y

OLIVIA The warm rays of the sun shining into the room and settling on my skin, roused me out of slumber. I made to sit up and I'm stopped by Cameron's firm grip still on my waist. My eyes take in the sleeping figure lying peacefully on the bed like a log of wood. He had worked late into the night, making and taking lots of calls that had me wondering what the whole situation was all about. I did not want him to think that I was curious about his ‘Princely’ responsibilities, so I settled myself on the bed patiently waiting for him. I badly wanted to express my displeasure about his girlfriend or probably, his ex-girlfriend. But as the minutes ticked by, with the wait becoming longer, my eyelids had grown heavy and I succumbed to the irresistible pull of nature. Good thing he's not up yet I thought as I reached out to trail my fingers across his peaceful looking face. I jumped in surprise as Cameron grabbed my hands. “I didn't mean to wake you up.” I said awkwardly, feeling embarras

CAMERON “What?” I inquired, staring at her as she blushed, a soft pink hue appeared on her cheeks. I took a peek into the bag and chuckled at her adorable embarrassment. “Do you not like them?” I gestured to the beautiful sets of undies the assistant at the mall had chosen. “They're beautiful. Thanks for being so thoughtful.” Her voice, barely above a whisper as it dripped with embarrassment. “Not me. I had asked one of the assistants at the mall to pick up the choicest and most pretty items for a lady.” I explained. The last thing I wanted was for her to see me as a man with no shame. “Oh.. Still very thoughtful of you.” Her face pulled up in a smile this time. I returned the smile, relieved at the easing tension.I sat cluelessly, unsure of what else to do as I watched her unpack the items, displaying them all around her alongside her unending appreciative comments. I was suddenly glad for stopping over at the mall this evening in spite of the stressful day I had. Seeing her che

OLIVIA I couldn't stop thinking about my mate all day and the way he made me feel. Although I have been fighting so hard to not admit it, but I craved his presence. Scratch that, my wolf craved the presence of her mate.‘And you too. Admit it and stop being a bitch!’ Ava snapped in my head. ‘Whatever.’ I rolled my eyes. “I don't want another mate.” I said out loud.Keep lying to yourself, Olivia. After having breakfast, I had settled down to see a movie on the smart television in the foyer. My eyes were fixed on the television for a long time until the rapping sound of a knock disrupted my attention, momentarily shifting it away from the movie I was seeing. I looked up to see Mrs. Mila walk into the foyer with a bowl of Popcorn. “Right on time.” She shot me a bright smile.Apparently, she was here to serve me the bowl of popcorn. “I heard the sound from the television and I figured you'd made do with a bowl of Popcorn. So, for the movies.” She handed me the bowl, a large smile spre

OLIVIA I woke up to find the other side of the bed empty. I sat up just at the time Cameron walked out of the closet, his hands worked up the button of the plain white shirt he wore on a neatly pressed pair of brown pants, and he looked ready to go out.My eyes slowly scanned his appearance in fascination, he absolutely looked like a demi-god, his hair was firmly held in style with his muscled arms threatening to rip off his shirt. A deep masculine voice snaps me out of my drooling. “Hey,” He flashed me a smile, his perfectly white dentition sparkled under the soft natural light that drifted through the drawn drapes on the window. My heart fluttered in my chest as his eyes zeroed in on me. “Where to?” I questioned, narrowing my eyes at him. He took a step towards me, another step and several others until he got to the edge of the bed. Then he raised his hand and brushed my chin lightly with his forefinger.“Missing me already?” A smirk made its way onto his lips spreading into a
