Chapter 41

His large form was crouched, blending in the dark. I could only see its two shiny black eyes that reflected the little light that the night gave off. I could see a white cloud forming as he exhaled out. My chest dropped that I held my breath, hoping he would do nothing.

Slowly, he straightened his body to his towering height. His right foot slid over the ground in my direction followed by the other. It felt like I was on my way to my coffin with each step he took. I wanted to close my eyes and wake up to somewhere else. I wanted to run but I couldn’t. My body was frozen in exhaustion and shock. I couldn’t even feel my legs.

He was right. He was faster, stronger, and better than a werewolf. No werewolf would be able to run through the forest without making a sound, appearing behind me without even me sensing him. He was the ultimate wolf race. He was powerful.
