Zhander dug his hand from his pocket as he reached for the knob situated on the door to his room. For some reason, he was afraid to enter…

Perhaps because he knew what awaited him behind these very walls; nothing but painful words and a gaze that staked his heart continuously.

Marlie seemed angrier than usual today, he could see the murderous glint in her eyes, the resent as she hammered the stupid knife forward. She wanted him dead, but then again, why wouldn’t she?

His fingers hesitated around the golden knob, the pain in his heart making it harder for him to open the door. What would she say to him this time? How would she look at him?

Or worse, what if she cried again?

Zhander staggered backwards until his back was against the walls opposite to the door. He had purposely stayed out until the day turned into night, trying to get rid of this same fear, but all the confidence he had built was now drifting away like waves created by the strong winds of his determination, but destroy

“Rosa…?” Zhander’s eyes hardened as he stared at her. “Who told you that you could call that f*cking name?” Marlie shuffled back on the bed, his gaze was tempestuous; so strong and murderous. “I…I…your friend…h-he told me…” Zhander’s eyes twitched, his hands clenching into tight fists against the mattress. “I don’t want to hear you say it again, do you understand?” Marlie nodded her head, even if she wanted to, she couldn’t defy him. His aura was so heavy, floating with so much power around the room, compelling her to cower. “O-Okay.” “Good. Now get some more rest, we’ll be leaving early tomorrow morning for father’s pack.” “W-Why?” “My birthday’s coming up, he wants me to celebrate it there for some reason.” Marlie didn’t say another word after that, instead, she turned her back to him, trying to calm down her hectic breathing. She had been scared just now; scared and angry. Why was it that she couldn’t call the name? It was her mouth, wasn’t it? What was so special about a st

After being forced to eat, Marlie brushed her teeth, took her bath, and then she was forced into a corset that squeezed tightly against her skin. A dress that fell lower than her ankles was zipped over it and then she was told to put her feet into shoes she couldn’t even walk in. Twice she had nearly fallen on her face, and it was close to the third time that Zhander had taken pity on her and given her slippers instead. Her hair was lightly trimmed and straightened and after about an hour of ‘getting ready’, she was standing in front of Zhander who was well put together as well. He was wearing a suit, just like the night of the celebration, but his hair was caught way neater. The back was loose, floating in curls down by his shoulders, but the top was garnered and then neatly wrapped. It was nice, or it rather made him look nice. Like a gentleman he looked, especially with that smile on his lips. “Just as I expected…you’re an angelic being Marlie.” He got it wrong…he was the angel

As soon as they descended from the woods, Marlie was greeted with multiple buildings compressed against each other. Some were short, some were tall, but all were coated in white paint. Xanthus hauled her towards the tallest one, making sure the sound of her slippers scraping against the stone paved entryway could be heard. “Let go of me!” “Shut that little insolent mouth of yours, I’m merely assisting you…don’t be ungrateful.” Marlie glared towards him, she knew now that he didn’t like her, but the feeling was mutual, because the mere fact that he was a werewolf made her hate him too. Huffing, she stayed still as he continued to drag her into the building. There were a few people around who bowed to Zhander who walked in front, but apart from that, they were walking in an empty hall, nothing but bland, white walls. It was until they walked a ‘mile’ more that they were able to see something other than the f*cking walls and it was a f*cking white door. Zhander shoved it open and in

“Shhh angel…” An unexpected smirk formed on his lips as he roughly grabbed her face. “The fact that you didn’t answer was what saved you…because if you had…I’d have broken your neck right there and then…” “So, I…you’re not angry? You’re not going to punish me?” “No, I am angry, but I won’t punish you…not if you open your mouth.” Marlie fumbled with her dress, her eyes casting away from him. She knew what those words meant, if she opened her mouth like last time, he’d kiss her again…and did she want that? Marlie shook her head, pursing her lips together…her fear wouldn’t make her do stupid things again. “No.” “As defiant as the very first day I met you.” He chuckled as his hand fell from her face, his head gently falling against her shoulder. “You did well…if you had answered when he called…if he had touched you…I’d have really lost it. I’m the only person you should answer to…that name, I should be the only one to call it and get a response.” Marlie felt guilty…after all, she kne

Zhander pulled away from the kiss, and Marlie shuffled uncomfortably in her spot. Her panty was wet, and her body was shaking. She thought the kiss would quell her desire, but it did nothing but heighten it. “I’ve dreamt of you actually taking the initiative…but I never thought I’d actually get to see it in real life. I can smell how needy you are, Marlie…I know, I’m sure that you want me.” Marlie clenched her legs together when the sound of his voice started to disturb her in multiple ways…just the sound of it had heat flaring up within her. Her core kept clenching and unclenching, and her clit kept convulsing. “This side of you gives me hope…” He forced his hand between her closed thighs, feeling for the part of her that was more desperate than any other. “That you will really be mine soon.” Marlie moaned when he roughly clutched onto her…though there was a dress, though there was a panty…she could still feel it all…the sparks and the undeniable pleasure. “Z-Zhander…!” “Hmm…?” H

“Because I…I want you to f*ck me.” An animalistic growl left Zhander’s lips and after that, Marlie found herself on the bed and him on top of her. “You don’t know what you do to me…I swear.” He ripped the top of her dress and Marlie gasped out in surprise at the sound of the material being destroyed. “Turn around angel…let me take the corset off too.” Marlie slowly turned her back to him, feeling as he easily unlaced the leather material, pulling it off of her. He undid her bra and pulled her dress down her legs before turning her back to face him. “Don’t let this be like the last time…if you end up regretting our mating again it’ll be painful.” His finger ran along the waistband of her panty and Marlie stared anywhere but at him. “I-I won’t…” “So you’re telling me that I won’t have to worry about the pain? I won’t have to worry about your glares…any harsh words or your tears?” “I’m not a baby…I won’t cry, not this time.” “And if you do…must I punish you?” “A-Are you challengin

But now that Zhander’s chest was bare, she couldn’t help but acquaint her eyes. There was a wolf howling towards a broken moon drawn beautifully on his chest, and these four letters were written beneath it… R. O. S. A. It was that name again…the one that now lived in her head; Rosa… Marlie blinked away from it, ignoring the way her heart churned in what she could only call pain. She didn’t know why, but for some reason, the fact that the name was printed across his chest didn’t sit right with her…she didn’t like it. It contradicted the words he’d just said. He said she was made for him and him for her…if that was so…why was Rosa’s name on his chest? Marlie’s hands loosened the sheets to cover herself once again…. Marlie slid out of Zhander’s arms, the towel garnered beneath her on the sheets that had been too wet to sleep on last night shifting along with her movements. Zhander stirred beside her, his heavy arm falling around her waist once again. “Where are you going?”“It’s none of your business…” Marlie looked away from him, away from his squinted eyes and away from the bold and annoying tattoo on his chest. “It’s nothing.”Zhander perched his head on his palm, staring down at her with deep curiosity. “If you were looking for your dress, then it’s all torn. I had the maids pack us a suitcase of clothes in the trunk of the car, but last night it had been too late to pack them out. I’ll go instruct someone to get them so you can shower and get dressed.” He sat up, finally releasing her. “Stay here until I get back.”Marlie’s eyes floated back over to him, holding a glare that depicted her hate for him. “Like I have anywhere else to go…how will I go outside naked?”“You’re right…” Zhander smil

So much for not going in when she was in there now, shaking like a leaf in Zhander’s arms. The bastard had shoved her in without a warning and when she was on the brink of drowning, he had come to her rescue. “You’re e-evil…I almost drowned.”“You weren’t drowning Marlie, you were just being overly dramatic.”“I wasn’t…” Marlie’s hands gripped his shoulders tighter, glancing down at the water that almost killed her. “I was going to die.”“As if I’d let that happen, stop exaggerating…the water is so shallow that we’re literally sitting in it.”Marlie puffed her cheeks, she didn’t have a comeback for that because it was the truth. They really were sitting in it ~Zhander at the bottom and her in his lap~ and the water only managed to reach up to the center of her back. But still, because of it, her hair was wet now and her nose was stuffy. “You didn’t have to d…”“Marlie…” His hands started to create circular motions on her back. “I thought we agreed that you’d beg me to f*ck you as soon

Zhander watched as his driver hauled the suitcase out of the car trunk before slamming it shut. “Where should I put it?” “Just follow me, Greg.” The middle-aged human obliged, following Zhander back towards where Xanthus and Romere stood, waiting for him with a small backpack in both their hands. “We didn’t bring much, but we brought clothes for the celebration tonight.” Xanthus looked around. “But I never thought I’d hate coming back here as much as I do now.” Zhander sighed, following his gaze towards where some of Zaid’s pack members stood. They were walking and staring and talking. It must be surprising that he was here since he hadn’t visited since Rosa’s death, so it was normal for them to stare, for them to talk…but them doing that only reminded him of back then when they all chose his brother instead of choosing him…when they all turned their backs on him claiming he was incompetent and unable to rule… And for that…he hated these lands and the very people on it. “Don’t min
