-Roman- I had seen my mate lose all strength in her body and just fall to the floor. I hurried over to her, feeling so scared. I had not seen such a reaction in her before. She had just looked at me and Shane and then she had lost all strength. I gently grabbed her and held her in my arms. She was already sweaty and growing so pale. I really didn’t like it, but I knew it really was just another one of her episodes, and all I could do was wait and see what would happen. I called out her name gently, feeling so worried. I didn’t like it. I hated when this happened to her, but it wasn’t long then she was opening her eyes a little. I kept calling out to her, and I stroked her warm cheek. Ana then surprised me as she sat up, like she hadn’t just experienced a violent episode and she looked around a bit like she wasn’t sure what was happening. Daphne and I helped her stand, and I was sure Ana just wanted to go lie down and rest. It always was hard on her when these things happened to her. S
-Roman- “Your mate has lost her mind!” Daphne said as she charged into the kitchen through the swing doors, almost knocking into the walls behind them. “I think so too.” “Then do something!” Daphne turned to me, and I sighed, running a hand down my face. I didn’t know what to do. I had never seen Ana like this. She was always much more reserved. “I think it’s her episode,” I told Daphne. “I think it did something to her.” “Then take her to a doctor! Like I told you!” Daphne had placed a hand on the kitchen island and was resting against it. I sighed and leaned my back against it too, as I crossed my arms. “She is making us all super uncomfortable!” “I know…” “And have you seen the way she looks at Shane? I mean, I don’t think she has blinked once,” Daphne said. “I saw it…” “Then do something!” she said. “I can’t sit in that room again if it continues. You can cut the tension with a knife. And poor Shane! I mean, does she not like him or something?” “I don’t know,” I told h
-Anastasia- I wasn’t going to wait for Roman to come and stop me this time. He would not stop me from killing the true culprit behind all of this and who seemed to want to hurt him, too. I still wasn’t completely sure if Shane was after his cousin, too, but I had been right. My family had been made an example of. They died because the lycans felt my father had overstepped… my brother had been torn apart and my mom… I couldn’t even think about it without feeling such anger and hatred that it hurt me, almost. I was going to show Shane, though. He would not get out of this it this time. I was here to remember and pay him back for his crimes. “Is Roman your next target?” I asked him. “My cousin?” “Do you want to hurt him, too?” I asked. Shane smiled. “Do I think the lycans deserve a better king? I do.” “And if Roman and I died, that would be you, right?” “It would be,” he said. “You’re not even sorry about what you have to do, right?” I asked him. “Not one bit.” “You really are
-Anastasia- I felt so damn drowsy. I couldn’t quite control my body. It felt weak and… weird. What had happened? Where was I? I tried opening my eyes, but they were so heavy. I groaned, feeling so weird in my body and my mouth felt strangely dry. I tried again to open my eyes and then saw the world going by fast. I quickly sat up and looked around before my eyes settled on Shane in the driver’s seat. He turned his head and smiled at me. “Morning, sunshine,” he said. “Morning?” I looked out, and yes, it was indeed morning. How long had we been driving? Or was he going around, trying to confuse Roman? Oh, shit… Roman! What happened to Roman? I looked at Shane again. “What did you to do to Roman?” I asked him. “Oh, Roman? He is fine. Just a little… knocked out,” Shane said and smiled. “What?” “I knocked him out,” he said, because he thought I was really asking. I looked at him, shocked, and almost tried to reach for him, only to find my hands tied in front of me. I tried pulling
-Roman- I groaned, slowly waking from a very deep and heavy sleep. I couldn’t even remember having gone to bed. Did the dinner go well? Ana… Ana had been acting so weirdly, freaking us all out. She had been almost interrogating Shane… Shane? Wait… I opened my eyes, the world spinning and not quite coming into focus right away. It took a moment before I could really see anything, and then I noticed Daphne further away, still lying on the floor. “D-Daphne…” I croaked out. I tried getting my body to move, but it was so heavy, and I had a violent pain in the side of my head. Roman! Ana! “I know…” Shane had taken her. I couldn’t see her or even smell her in the room. She had only left a faint scent, meaning she had been gone for a while now. I tried standing up again, but I couldn’t. My limbs wouldn’t do what I told them to, and I ended up an army crawling towards Daphne. Shit… my head hurt so much. I reached up and touched sticky blood, which was still running a little from the wound
-Anastasia- I stayed quiet most of the car ride, but my heart went crazy inside of my chest when my old home suddenly appeared in front of me. It all seemed… the same, almost. Of course, there were some changes made, but most of it was exactly the same as I remembered. Shane parked in front of the house before he turned to me, and I slowly looked at him, feeling even more disturbed than ever. “Why this?” I asked. “Why the house?” I nodded. “Why rebuild it only to make it look like the one you burned down?” I asked him. “Because it sends a good message,” he said. “And I like the house. It’s nice. Don’t you think?” I just glared at Shane, not believing anyone could be so cruel. I simply didn’t get it. It was just sick, and when I turned to look at the house, more old memories pushed forward, and I saw flames so big and catching on to the house. I groaned and felt the sharp pain go through my head. I lifted my hand and pressed a finger into my temple. “So you still don’t remember
-Roman- “Taken?!” Ana’s uncle shouted. It had been a whole day since Ana had disappeared. I had been passed out for most of it. Shane had hit me harder than I thought and while the wound heal quickly, the damage he had done to my head took longer to fix. Daphne had me patched up though and taken care of me, before we went to go see Ana’s family. They had quickly seen the look on my face and known something horrible was wrong. Now we were in her uncle’s office with her cousin and aunt there too, plus a good handful of warriors from the pack. We were going to need a lot of help if we were going to get my mate back. “Yes…” I looked down, feeling ashamed I couldn’t keep my mate safe. I had promised her uncle, and I had failed… “By who?” Jackson asked. He looked like a fucking mess. It seemed like Daphne running from him had really destroyed him. I had at least been focused on getting Ana back, but Jackson seemed to already feel like the fight was over. “My cousin… Shane… I thought…
-Roman- I followed with some of the way to Ana’s house. But she had lived far away from me and her uncle and aunt. No wonder it took some time for them to really hear what had happened or grow worried enough to go look. It took most of the day before I felt the calling of my mate. I could feel her worried and scared feelings growing stronger as I moved closer to her. “How far are we from the house?” I asked and looked at her uncle. “15 minutes away now,” he said, and I saw him looking so grim. He didn’t like he had to go back there either. I didn’t believe anyone was happy about it. “Then stop here. I can’t go any further. I’m scared he will know.” Her uncle pulled over, and I got out of the car. We were a good handful of a mix between lycans and werewolves. I had called some of my own warriors, bringing them with should they be needed. If Shane really had the ground guarded well, we needed them. Her uncle stepped out of the car as well, yet kept it running. “We will see what we
