Could Ward be more perfect?!
KEENAThe blisters on my skin are healing slowly so I am unable to go to school. Every day Faris brings home my school work and I sit on my bed and try to not to fall behind on my work while Ward sits in the corner of my room and stares at me. "Are you going to stare at me all of the time?" I groan, unable to tolerate his looks of pity any longer. "I am supposed to be watching you," Ward says with a smirk on his face. "Every moment of every day. King Erebus's orders." I roll my eyes at his answer but a small smile spreads across my lips. He really is adorable. "I don't think my father meant that you have to stare at me constantly." "What else am I meant to do?" Ward shrugs his shoulders. I close the book that is opened on my lap and close the laptop that is sitting beside me. "We could get to know one another," I point out. Ward's eyebrows knit together as he thinks about my proposition. It is almost like he doesn't wish to share anything about his personal life wit
JAREK Her bodyguard bursts through the door and shoves me out of the way. "Focus on me, Keena," he whispers intimately to her. Keena takes her eyes off of me and looks deeply into the bodyguard's eyes. "Ward," she whispers as she closes her eyes. I watch in horror as her bodyguard runs his thumbs down her cheeks. Keena lets out a relaxing sigh and the flames that were erupting from her fingertips are slowly disappearing leaving minimal damage on her bed. As soon as the rage that is swarming around Keena is extinguished her bodyguard turns to me and glowers at me. "You need to leave." "I don't think that is for you to decide," I snap back at him. Slowly Keena opens her eyes and lets out a calm sigh. "You need to leave," she says to me with disappointment in her eyes. "I clearly cannot control my emotions around you." "This conversation isn't over," I growl at her as I turn on my heels and leave the room. I am mumbling to myself as I make my way back down to the
KEENAI have been kept at home and in my room for over a week now. I am beginning to go stir crazy. Neither my mother or Sister Edith will let me practice my powers. Claiming that until the power within matches my magical abilities it is best that I keep them hidden. The only problem is that I have no idea what that means. Shouldn't the power that is within and my magical abilities be the same thing. Ward has been at my side every moment of every day and while I enjoy his company I am beginning to miss the comfort of Kayla. "Mother," I whine indignantly. "I just want a girls night." "The last time you had a girls night you almost set your bedroom on fire," my mother retorts. "If you and Sister Edith would just train me, then maybe I would be able to contain the feelings that cause me to lose control," I stick out my bottom lip in a little pout, like I used to do when I was a child. "We have told you over and over again, Keena. Once the power within matches your magical
JAREK Lying in bed I toss a football up and down in the air, trying not to think about the Princess. Her perfect full lips and bright green eyes haunt my dreams both day and night. If I don't stay away from her, it won't be long until my wolf convinces me to accept the mate bond. He has never wanted anything more than he wants Keena. 'She isn't our type,' I try to explain to my wolf but he isn't listening. He just keeps flashing pictures of her through my mind. 'She is my type,' Kane growls loudly in my head. 'How can she be your type when she doesn't have a wolf. She would never be able to mark us in return.' I groan as I get to my feet. My dick is throbbing against my jeans as I think about marking Keena. Even my body is betraying me. As I walk into my bathroom to take an ice cold shower I hear the blaring of the horns off in the distance. I look out of the small window in my bathroom and see warriors running from their houses towards the Royal Mansion. 'We mu
KEENA "I wasn't talking to you," Faris snarls at me as he stalks across the room towards Ward. Ward doesn't even lift his hands to defend himself. He simply stands up straight and waits for the next blow to come from Faris. Balling his fists up at his side, Faris punches Ward across the face. Ward's head snaps to the side and a trickle of blood drips down his chin. Ward doesn't say a word to Faris. He only continues to accept the brutal beating that Faris is giving him. Eventually, Ward sways on his feet and falls to the ground with a loud thud but that doesn't stop Faris. He hopes on top of Ward's body and continues to land blow after blow onto Ward's face. "You were supposed to protect her," Faris growls between punches. "Not let her walk out into the middle of a rogue fight." I stand in shock as I watch Ward's face get more swollen and bloodier with each strike Faris takes. Panic rises in my throat and I realize that Faris won't stop until Ward is dead. "Faris,"
KEENA "We are going to have to shave part of your head to put in the stitches," the doctor tells me. Hopping out of my hospital bed, I back myself up against the wall and shake my head angrily. "You are not shaving my head. There has to be another way." "I am sorry, Princess," the doctor inches toward me with a pair of clippers. "Take another step and I will scream," I warn him, and the doctor takes several steps back. "There has to be another way," I groan as the headache intensifies. The doctor begins to inch his way towards me again. "Princess," his voice is calm and collected. "You are still bleeding. We need to stop the bleeding." I am holding a gauze to my head and I give the doctor a ridiculous look before saying, "duh." Suddenly my mother comes bursting through my hospital door with Ward at her side. I smile brightly when I see him but that smile falters when I see how badly his face is still bruised. As quickly as I can I move behind my mother and War
JAREKI pace the floor as I wait for my father to pick up my phone call. The ringing sound coming through the speaker of my phone is making me angry. Silently, I dare him to ignore my phone call. I will drive to Crescent Moon and kill him myself, but not after I torture him for the truth. No one tries to kidnap my mate. Finally the ringing stops and my fathers grumpy voice comes through the phone. "Now isn't a good time," my father grumbles. I can't help the growl that escapes my lips. "Why not?" "It's just not a good time," my father repeats. "Because the rogue attack on the royal mansion didn't manage to get you the Princess?" I snarl through the phone. My father tries to sound offended but I know him too well. That scoff is the sound he makes when he has been caught in a lie. "There was another attack on the royal mansion?" He attempts to sound innocent. "Don't play stupid with me," I yell through the phone. "I caught one of your rogues and easily got the tru
WARD I stand in my usual spot in Keena's room and glare at Jarek as I walk by him to follow the King down to his office. Jarek glares back at me and I vow to myself that I will be the one to kill this arrogant Alpha. I don't care what it means for me later on down the road. He will die by my hands. Bumping into Jarek's shoulder as I pass him, he lets out a loud snarl and lunges for my throat. "Is this really where you want to die, Pretty Boy," I growl at him as I push him to the ground with one of my hands. "Enough!" King Erebus roars and he throws his Alpha King aura over the room. I stand at attention awaiting instructions but I can see Jarek fighting against the command trying to get to me once again. "Jarek," I hear Keena whispering to him. "Just go with my father, please." Jarek gets to his feet and stands silently beside me. "There will be no more fighting until we get this sorted," the King commands us both. "Do you both understand me?" "Yes, Your Highness

Willow POV Faris's body floats to the middle of Lycan City Lake, just like his father before him and his grandfather before that. Horns play loudly, signifying the beginning of the lighting ceremony. I watch from a distance as the leader of the Royal Guard raises his hand in the air, and three archers light the tips of their arrows with flames. The leader lowers his hand, and the arrows fly into the air before hitting their mark. As Faris's body is engulfed in flames, I find myself shedding a tear. Not for the man Faris was at the end of his life, but for the man he was before I became his assassin. The uncle who would sneak me out of my house with his mate and feed me ice cream before dinner. The uncle who never missed a school event and treated me like his own flesh and blood even though I was not. Liz pulls at my black dress and looks up at me with her bright green eyes. "Are you okay?" She whispers, pulling my attention away from the end of my uncle's ceremony. "I'm
Willow POV As I watch Endora’s ashes fly away, the runes on my back begin to burn. It feels like someone has poured salt on an open wound. I drop to my knees and claw at my skin through my shirt. My mother and Cordelia rush to my side, ripping my shirt off my body. I look at the runes on my arms, and they are glowing bright red. “What is happening?” I cry out in pain. “Since Endora has been killed, your link to the Coven of the Lunar Star is broken,” Cordelia tries to smile even though I am in pain. “The magical bindings they put on your skin are breaking down.” “They are disappearing?” I ask as I attempt to get to my feet, but my knees buckle under my weight. Exhaustion has finally caught up with me. Wincing through the pain, I look at Faris lying beside me. His face looks peaceful like he is sleeping. I look around me, and all of the fighting has stopped. Faris’s Royal guards must have felt this tether to the pack break when he died. Now they are all on bended knee
Willow POV My two-hour training session turned into five hours. By the time Cordelia is done with me, my arms feel like jello. My feet drag as I walk from the training area back to the farmhouse. I am exhausted, and I cannot wait to crawl into bed for a few hours before Osiris wakes me. As I approach the farmhouse, my heart sinks. A group of rogue warriors is already gathered outside of the farmhouse. Osiris is standing on the porch giving them a speech. When he sees me, he raises his hand and gestures for me to join him. Mumbling obscenities under my breath as I approach Osiris, I realize I am not getting my nap. Plastering a fake smile on my face, I stand beside Osiris. Osiris wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close to him. My fake smile turns into a real one as I feel the tingles of the mate bond spread throughout my skin. Osiris's shoulders relax as I nuzzle into his side. He wraps his arm tightly around my waist and continues his speech. "We were att
Faris POV I leave Natacha sleeping in my bed. Her new mark shimmers under the morning light shining into the room. I had expected her mark to match the one I had given Kayla, but it is different. A beautiful rose blooming under a full moon now resides on her neck. Natacha had been more than willing to accept my mark. The lovemaking between us had been patient and gentle. I was worried about hurting the pup that grows within her. But when it came time for Natacha to mark me in return, I couldn't let it happen. It felt too much like I was replacing Kayla. Natacha pretended she understood, but I could feel her pain through the bond between us. She was disappointed. Pulling on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, I head into the office that adjoins my bedroom. Sitting down at my desk, I begin to make plans on when and how to attack the rogue camp. But my heart isn't in it. Now that I know I have an heir, nothing else seems to matter. It all feels petty. "Why shouldn't I let
Willow POV After much negotiation with the doctor, he finally agrees to let me leave the hospital. The wound on my neck is almost healed. I have not been brave enough to look at it. I don't want to see the damage that Osiris has done to me. After taking a shower in the tiny hospital bathroom, I open the bag of clothes that Osiris brought me from the farmhouse. I roll my eyes when I see a pair of bright red lace panties and a matching bra. Sticking my head out of the bathroom, I hiss at Osiris. "You couldn't have brought something more comfortable?" There is a mischievous grin on his face. "They looked comfortable to me," he chuckles. I shut the door in frustration, and I begin to pull on the leather pants and black t-shirt. I pull my hair up into a ponytail and walk back out into the hospital room. But there is no one in there. I peek out of my hospital room and see nurses and doctors frantically running toward the entrance of the hospital. I can hear the sounds of
Faris POV It is the wee hours of the morning when I finally return to the royal mansion, but the mansion is already buzzing with activity. I quietly slip past all of the Omegas who have already started their morning chores. I go upstairs and past the room that Natacha is staying in. Her scent of lavender and roses is wafting through the door. She barely smells like a rogue anymore, and I wonder if it is because she is carrying my child. Slowly, I turn the doorknob, and I am surprised to find it is unlocked. The door opens with a slight creek, causing me to cringe. I consider walking away, but curiosity draws me further into her room. Natacha is sleeping peacefully. I have to admit she is beautiful. Not as beautiful as my Kayla, but still beautiful nonetheless. Tiny puffs of breath leave her full lips as she sleeps. She is sleeping in an oversized t-shirt. A smile crosses my lips when I realize the t-shirt is one I had left behind at her apartment. The t-shirt has ridd
Osiris POV Ella grabs my hand and teleports back to the hospital. The wind swirls in the sky as the witch sisters appear out of nowhere beside us. I am unsteady on my feet as the world comes back into focus. "I don't think I will ever get used to that," I grumble as I choke back the vomit rising in my throat. "You will get used to it over time," Ella says as she gently rubs my back. I shrug off Ella's hand and turn to the four witches. "We don't have time to lose," I say. "We need to get to Willow." Once I have regained my balance, I head into the hospital with the witches following behind me. As we walk through the halls, people scatter away from me and the women walking with me. Whispers follow us through the corridors. Many of my pack members have not seen so many witches together in one place, and their eyes follow us as we make our way to Willow's hospital room. As we approach Willow's room, the doctor is waiting for us. He looks the witches up and down before o
Faris POV Natacha follows me into the royal mansion, keeping her head down. As we walk through the mansion, I can hear the whispers coming from the Omega servants. They are wondering why I have willingly brought a rogue into Lycan City. My personal Omega, Jessica, is leaving my bedroom when I reach the top floor of the royal mansion. Her face blushes deeply when she looks at me but quickly disappears when she lays eyes on Natacha. Jessica's nose wrinkles as she catches Natacha's rogue scent, and a scowl tugs at her lips. "How can I help you, Your Highness?" Jessica says with a fake smile spread across her face. "This is my close friend, Natacha. I need you to set her up in the room next to mine," I instruct Jessica. Jessica doesn't try to hide her displeasure at the thought of a rogue staying within the royal mansion, but still, she gestures for Natacha to follow her down the hall. Natacha hesitates to follow the young Omega. "Are you coming with me?" She asks nervou
