I sat in the throne room looking at the papers before me but I wasn't seeing the papers.
The previous day, I and my men had gone to take over a little town that had been planning to war with us unexpectedly because they saw themselves as powerful mages.
We had fought and conquered but while everyone was brimming with happiness from our success, I was baffled, because someone had said something that had stirred up great emotions within me.
She had come at me with her eyes white and a large ball of magic in her hand. She had told me not to kill her and that she was going to be of good use to me. I had told her to show me how she could be of use to me and her ball of magic grew bigger and brighter and she had said a word.
"Kimberly."
Just that word, had me lost in the world, just as I was about to hear more, a sword came protruding out of her heart and as she fell, I saw my beta who had thought she was trying to kill me.
