Endrée's POV
I turned around after giving one last look inside her cell. I quickly went back to my room and laid on my bed. I looked at the side of the bed where I laid her earlier.
'Just a little sniff,' Dante whined as he wagged his tail. I told him to behave. He growled at me and sulked.
I stared at my hands. I could still smell her scent on my hands. The other part of me wants to wash my hands but the other part of me doesn't and that part that does not want to wash my hands won.
“Alpha,” Derrick suddenly called for me through telepathy. I quickly sat up and answered him.
“Yes, Derrick. What do you want?” I asked him and he chuckled. I shook my head as I looked out of the window. I lit up a cigarette and blew the smoke as I gazed at the glass filled with alcohol that I'm holding. It’s mixed with wolfs bane so I could get drunk. However, the image of that woman refused to leave my mind. I realized that I don't even know her name.
I paced back and forth inside my room.
“Isn’t it an irony that she is a witch and a werewolf hybrid?” he suddenly blurted out. I stopped on my tracks. Well, how could he not know? Of course he knew. He’s both my bestfriend and my cousin. He knew everything about me and what I’m thinking.
“Yeah, but I will still kill her after I’m done with her,” I replied and he suddenly went silent.
"Yeah, she won't be an exception. I’ll burn all the witches in the world. Besides, I already have a Luna. She's Zenalie. She's the best Luna for me," I added and I continued to pace back and forth inside my room.
‘No, she isn’t. She's a b*tch! A two-faced b*tch!’ Dante growled out in anger. I ignored him. He just can't accept her. But she's the best girl for me. Zenalie is the best girl and she is the best candidate to be my Luna.
“If that's what you want then I won't interfere. However, she piqued my interest...” Derrick replied. I stopped in my tracks.
"What do you mean?" I asked him. What piqued his interest?
I feel like he wanted to say something but he did not reply. Before I could say anything, he suddenly cut our telepathy. I shook my head and drifted off to sleep.
I woke up early the next morning and I quickly took a shower and dressed up. I don't know why I suddenly wanted to look good today but I erased those thoughts in my head. Probably just a hangover. That doesn't matter though cause I need to start interrogating her now. I quickly went down to the dungeon with fast and hurried steps.
“My King,” the guards greeted and opened the dungeon gate. I just nodded my head and went inside. I walked to her cell. The sound of my footsteps echoed all around the walls as I walked.
She's still sleeping. I peered at her and I banged my hands against the cell door. She jolted and sat up. I could hear her faint and dainty gasps as she looked around her. After a few seconds her eyes finally settled to me.
"Stand up. We need to talk," I said and crossed my arms. I gave her a cold glare. Her hazy eyes turned to look at her feet then she looked back at me. She finally stood up.
Rynari’s POV
I stood up and approached the Lycan King. My knees almost buckled and my head still hurts from yesterday.
I heard the rattling of chains and I looked at my feet. I am chained to the bed.
“Where am I?” I asked him as I looked around but it was useless. The place I was currently in is so dark and murky. I can even smell a faint metallic scent. It must be blood. I grimaced as I looked around me.
Is this a torture room? That thought made my skin crawl. I looked at him again.
“I’m the only one who asks questions here. What’s your name?” he asked me. He looked at me like he wanted to strangle me. I instinctively held my neck.
“I’m Rynari Vanya Saiyak. I’m sorry if I ran away yesterday. I have no ill intentions to anyone or to your pack, so just let me go,” I said as I tried to get closer to the cell door but I stepped on something and I felt it burn my feet. I yelped in pain and I looked at my feet.
“Yeah, you should be careful. That part of the floor is full of silver. I know you have wolf blood, you got affected by my power,” he stated and he gave me a cruel smirk. My heart could not bare the torture he was giving me. I glared at him.
“You are completely irrational! Why are you torturing and imprisoning me? I am innocent!” I angrily yelled at him. My hands balled into fists.
“Innocent? You’re a f*cking witch! None of your kind is innocent!” he yelled back at me. His voice boomed all over the place.
I gasped when he suddenly opened the cell door. The chains on my feet rattled when I tried to go as far away from him as possible.
“Ahhh!” I screamed when he harshly pulled the chains that are attached to my feet. I fell flat on the dirty floor and he harshly dragged me towards him. I screamed and tried to dig my nails on the floor to stop him from dragging me across it but it was useless.
He grabbed my forearm and forced me to stand up. He turned me around so that I was facing him.
“Tell me about where you live or what happened to you. If you refuse to talk then I’ll sew your mouth shut. Literally,” he threatened me as he roughly grabbed my hair and stared into my eyes.
“No, please! I’ll talk! I’ll talk!” I yelled at him. I was panicking but my wolf just stayed still. He let go of my hair and roughly pushed me towards the bed.
“Now, speak,” he demanded gruffly. I tried to stifle my cries. His frown deepened as he observed me. A crease formed on his forehead.
“I only went into the forest and came to that part of the forest because I want to stop the war. I want to live my life without having to fear for werewolves and vampires coming for me. I hope that you’ll find it in your heart to understand what I mean. You have to!” I demanded, exclaiming. He glared at me and pulled my chain. I yelped and looked at my feet.
“So you have a home and you aren’t an escapee?” he asked me and stared into my eyes. He wants to know if I got caught by another pack before I arrived at that place yesterday.
“I have a home and I am not an escapee. I swear to you that I’m telling the truth,” I said and he nodded his head as he stood up.
“How did you know? How did you know that I blamed witches? How did you know about what happened?” he asked me and his red-blood eyes stared at me. I slowly exhaled. I’m starting to panic again. This is not a good sign. I can’t tell him about my dreams. He’ll be more suspicious of me and I might never be able to escape this place.
“My mom told me. She said that you hated the witches because a witch killed your brother. That is why my parents are shunned by my father’s pack. That is why I am determined to stop this war,” I said to him and he gave me a skeptical look.
He clicked his tongue and stood up. I gave him a questioning look.
“Then follow me,” he whispered to me and kneeled down in front of me to free me from my chain. I wriggled my feet when it was freed from the chains. The chains left a red mark on my skin.
“What? You’re letting me go? Are you going to help me?” I hopefully asked him. He stood up and looked at me then he grabbed my forearm. He forced me to stand up.
“No, I need to make sure that you aren’t lying to me. Don’t do anything stupid or you’ll regret it,” he threatened me as he dragged me away from the dark and murky cell.
I looked at my surroundings and then whipped my head in his direction to look at him.
“Why do we have to go outside the cell then? Where are we going?” I asked him as we walked towards a big building. People are staring at us, but they are particularly staring at me. They gave me disgusted looks when they saw me. I looked down and examined my appearance. No wonder, I looked so dirty.
“I have to make sure that you never escape so I’m putting you at a bigger and more secure cell. You said that you would do anything I want right?” he asked as he looked back at me.
“I said that if you let me go!” I yelled at him. He stopped on his tracks. I bumped onto his back and stared at it.
“We’re here,” he said and he signaled the guards to open a bigger but cleaner cell. It’s also more secure. He pushed me inside and immediately closed the door.
“Wait for Derrick to come here. He’ll know what to do with you,” he said and walked away. I looked at the guards.
“Who’s Derrick?” I asked them but they just stood still without batting an eye at me. I sighed and sat on the bed. I decided to get some sleep before this Derrick guy arrives.
I woke up with a jolt. Someone opened the cell door. I turned to look at him and observe him. He looks like he’s the same age as the Lycan King.
“You got enough sleep?” he asked me and sat on the chair in front of me.
“You must be Derrick. I did not get that much sleep and I’m hungry too,” I said as my stomach grumbled. Derrick laughed but then he suddenly asked the question that made me wonder if I was dreaming.
“Do you want to escape from here?” he asked me. My mouth gaped and I just stared at him. He asked me with the same question again and this time I nodded my head with no hesitation.
“Then wait for me. Midnight. Here’s some food. Build your strength. See you later, Rynari,” he said as he stood up. He smiled at me as he turned around.
“Wait, why? Why are you helping me?” I asked him and he stopped in his tracks. He looked back at me and he sighed.
“I’ll tell you why when we escape the palace,” he whispered and walked away. I slumped on the bed. I still have hope. I looked at the food he left me.
“Thank you, Derrick,” I mumbled to myself and ate the food he left me.
I have to get enough strength. I need to escape from here and know what Derrick’s plan is. He must know what can make the Lycan King change his mind and stop this war.
I drifted off to sleep with a sigh and looked out the window. Midnight. I’ll wait for him at midnight.
“…Hey, wake up…Rynari… we have to go now…”
I jolted and quickly sat up. Someone immediately covered my mouth and I looked at the person.
“…Dwe…wick…?” I asked and he shushed me. I nodded my head and grabbed his hand.
“Keep quiet and just follow me. This’ll be quick,” he whispered to me and pulled me towards him.
We hurriedly sneaked towards the exit but Derrick quickly grabbed me when a guard passed by. I almost screamed in shock because I thought it was somebody else.
After sneaking here and there, we finally reached the palace entrance gate and he told me to climb the wall and click a secret button or something. I immediately did as he told me.
“We did it, Derrick!” I exclaimed in happiness. He immediately shook his head.
“No, we’re not safe yet. We have to go somewhere. Endrée is very alert, even at this time. We need to be as far away from him as we can. Fast,” he said.
His name is Endrée? I always call him ‘Lycan King’ cause I don’t know his name.
“Okay, so how did you know?” I asked him, “How did you know that we can easily escape tonight?” I added. I waited for him to answer. He kept quiet and looked around and then he looked at me and then he looked away.
“My cousin is the only one who is alert at this time. The other wolves are not that alert tonight. They are weakened because the moon is not at its peak. Most of them are resting inside their homes,” he answered and I nodded.
So they are cousins?
“You must be his Beta, cause you know so much about Endrée. What do you plan to do then? I really have no plans aside from escaping. I just hoped that we can make it out of the palace and that was it,” I admitted. He stopped walking and turned his head to look at me.
“Here’s my journal. Read it carefully. We can’t eliminate the possibility that someone might be eavesdropping us. You read the journal and we discuss about the plan tomorrow. For now, we can only rely on the forest for protection,” he said and we continued walking.
The journal he gave me stated what he wanted me to know. He wanted to stop the war and bring his friend back to how he was before. He stated that the war is meaningless and that it caused more damage than help. Just because of a person, hundreds of lives were taken.
The thought that this man helped me escape proved his point. However, he was not able to save the others. That just proves how reluctant he is to do this but he was willing to risk it. Just so he could bring back his friend, the Lycan King.
Zenalie’s POV Endrée was not in the palace when I arrived. His men told me that he went to search for his mate. He found his mate! The fact that he found his mate made me panic. I was supposed to be the only one for him. I was to turn twenty-five next month and we were gonna be together as one just as traditioned. That was the plan! This was all not part of the plan. “You! Do you know anything about her? About this woman? If you know anything about her then spill it out! I have no time to waste!” I shouted to the guard who was appointed to guard that witch. He looked at me and then avoided my gaze. I fiercely glared at him. “No, I don’t know anything about her aside from the fact that she is a witch, Lady Zenalie,”
Endrée’s POV I woke up early this morning. I suddenly had a thought yesterday and it did not make me feel alright. I feel like something is wrong. I stared outside the window and eased my troubled mind. Someone talked to me through telepathy and asked me to go and check the cell where my mate was imprisoned. My mind raced as different scenarios entered my mind. I stood up and left the bed. I quickly went to the bathroom. After a few minutes, I was ready. I exited the room after taking one last look at myself in the mirror. I shook my head. Why am I suddenly concerned about my looks? I quicky ran towards the building. I entered the dungeon and the thought I had yesterday reentered my mind. I clenched my fists. That's
Rynari’s POV Me and Derrick were talking when we suddenly heard footsteps. My heart beat faster and faster as the person got closer and closer. His familiar and alluring scent entered my nose and I swallowed the lump in my throat. The footsteps stopped and the person turned his head to look inside Derrick’s cell. It seemed like his anger cannot be sated that easily. He’s planning to lash him again! "Don't! Please! He can't take this anymore. Won't you just forgive him and punish me instead?!" I yelled at him to stop him. Endrée turned his head and glared at me. Derrick warned me not to interfere so I was not able to do anything but stare at Derrick's back as Endrée lashed him. He was kneeling on the floor. Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to not watch as he continued to lash Derrick.
Endrée's POV Dante could barely restrain himself and he forced me to let him out. I could feel Derrick starting to get nervous. My mind raced as I thought of the ways to stop her. She's out of her mind! “You have to stop this right now, Zenalie. You want to wage war against me? You think you can win against me? Think this through!” I threateningly yelled at her. She looked at me and gave me a hostile expression then she turned her head to look at Rynari and smiled like she's crazy. What happened to her? She's not the girl I used to know. Maybe I don't even know her at all. Rynari suddenly stiffened. She’s trying to control her! In a blink of an eye, Zenalie was in front of my mate. How did she do that? "You deserve
Third Person's POV Meanwhile, in the Kindom of Kornova, the news of Zenalie's death spread like wildfire and it shocked the people. Crows flocked on a dead tree's branches. A brooding man stared at them as they pecked at each other. His grey eyes stared intently on a certain crows eyes and that particular crow looked at the rest of the crows and kill them of one by one. It was a bone-chilling and a truly gruesome sight but for the man, it was normal. That is the true nature of this world. The strong will always prey on the weak. Always has been and always will be. A true ruler knows this. The mysterious man grinned as he watch the crow devour the others. His eyes turned to look at the woman sitting in front of him.
Endrée's POV I walked with hurried steps. Derrick is really provoking me. He was purposely leaving his scent around her. He is always around her everytime I see her. Why won't he just leave her alone? I can't take it anymore. I finally decided to talk to him and stake my claim on Rynari. He is my cousin but I won't hesitate to put him in his place if he messes with me. Dante was not happy with how he's been acting. He wanted to kill him but I told him to wait until I talk to him. If I beat him up then he'll surely learn his lesson and if he doesn't then I'll lock him up forever. I could manage on my own and find another Beta. Derrick needs a f*cking leash. I saw him walking towards Rynari's bedroom and I quickly grabbed his forearm and slammed him against the wall. I growled at him
Third Person's POV Rynari does not know what to do. Endrée looked like he was not satisfied with the sucking. Her hand grabbed the sheets as she tried to cover herself. She feels a little bit chilly. She sighed heavily. She could still taste him inside her mouth. He tasted so sweet yet salty. She can't put a finger on it but she was soaked. Her womanhood felt ticklish. Somehow, she still wanted more. Endrée was not oblivious to this. He knows that she was not satisfied with this. He wanted to make her feel good as well. "Stand up. Let's get on the bed," he suddenly said to her and helped her get up. She stood up wobbly. Her legs went limp and she grabbed his forearm for support. He wrapped his arm around her waist and carried her to the bed.
Endrée’s POV I woke up the next day with a headache. I sighed and stretched my arm to wrap it around my mate. I felt her warm and soft body close to mine and I buried my nose on her hair. “Ryna…” I whispered hoarsely as I caressed her hair. She stirred in her sleep. She turned around and caressed my face. I finally claimed her. I claimed my mate. She is mine now and forever. Not Derrick’s. “We need to introduce you to my pack members,” I whispered and she turned her head to look out of the window. She blinked and pushed my arm away. I looked at her legs. "Now? But I'm nervous. What if they don't like me?" she said nervously. I shook m
Rynari's POV I gazed at the distance with a troubled mind. It's been a week since I last saw his face. My heart got caught in my throat at the thought of him being and living together in one place with Lorene. But what can I do? My situation prevents me from living with him, at least for now. I just wish for this problems to be solved and to pass by quickly without thinking about him cause it hurts when I do. The more that I think about him, my thoughts always drift towards that woman and the events that occurred that one dreadful night. I still have my doubts. As long as she's there, so close to him and I'm here, away from him, this doubts will never cease to exist. I tried to keep myself busy but I just can't help but miss him. Someone cleared their throat and I turned my head only to see Diego standing there. He was tilting his head while he examined my face. I tried to keep a happy expression but I'm sure it appeared rather awkward and forced. I sighed and was about to turn m
Rynari’s POV Endrée slowly walked towards me. And heart pounded as I continued to brush my hair frantically, trying to ignore him. My hand shook when the scene earlier flashed in my mind. I could feel my body warning me, it’s warming up at the thought and it’s dangerous. I’m still worried about the fact that I might get pregnant. He is not using protection! I could smell his alluring scent no matter how hard I tried to ignore it, it kept on poking my nose. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself but then I could see myself in the reflection and knew that I was already very turned on, waiting to be devoured. My nipples are so erected, it poked through the thin fabric of the bathrobe. Nevertheless, I acted as if my mate wasn’t there. I’m afraid my thoughts will be more than just thoughts and I’d act upon it by jumping him. I quickly shook my head as I continued to brush my hair. My body needs to learn to not be satiated. I can’t let Endrée think that I’m a woman who couldn’t ev
Third Person’s POV Footsteps echoed all over the walls. The woman sat up and peered from behind the bars. Her eyes glowed and tried her best to hear where the footsteps came from. However, it was impossible. The place she was in when she woke up is dark, she could see nothing but darkness. After trying to decipher where the mysterious footsteps really came from, she decided to just stop and wait for the person to reveal itself. She was too tired and wounded from what happened earlier, she does not know what time it is when she woke up for all her tools and belongings where taken. Her head still ached but she tried her best to mask it. She does not want to appear weak. After all, she was here for a mission. After a few seconds, she realized that the sound footsteps are no longer there. She could feel her heart beat faster and faster but she steeled herself. She needs to be strong. “Who are you?” a raspy voice spoke in the darkness. She immediat
Endrée’s POV “What—Your Majesty, are you listening?” I snapped out of my trance when I Derrick call out to me. “Yes, I’m just—just thinking,” I answered and cleared my throat. I closed my eyes and exhaled. This is harder than what I thought. “I can’t believe that you just fired all those maids one by one. The people might have start to question their trust towards us.” We are currently having a meeting regarding the events that took place yesterday. Just as I told my beta, I returned in the afternoon, which I wish I should’ve taken back because I regret leaving her side so early. “Don’t question me. I was the one who saw what happened. I will not allow a mere maid to badmouth the Queen, it’s a f*cking treason,” Derrick answered, growling out. His eyes turned gold and he bared his fangs in anger. “I—forgive me, Beta Derrick. I will not do it again,” the man whispered. “Now that it is settled, make sure to keep your useless words to yourself nex
Third Person’s POV “Are you not mad at me?” she asked Endrée as a blush crept up her porcelain features. She resisted the urge to bite her lips as he stared at her, his eyes glowing brighter. Like rubies, it glimmered even without the presence of light. Endrée resisted the urge to dart his tongue out and lick her cheeks. He wanted to kiss her again but he was afraid that she and might not end up fixing the situation. “I'm not mad at you. It's just that of all the places you could go to, it has to be my nephew Diego’s place. You know what this action of yours will affect me. Do you have any idea how this might make me think, the kinds of thoughts in be having? He—he's known for his reputation,” Endrée answered, trying to calm himself. He admitted that he does not trust his nephew. Endrée could not see it but when it comes to his mate, he loses his confidence in his sexual appeal. He often thinks that some guy might come and steal her away. As if she would be e
Third Person's POV"Hey, are you alright?" Morgan asked. He is a colleague of Ralph who was recruited the same day as him. He is a human. Ralph does not know how to act around the individual. He does not even want to associate with him. Ralph knows what this Morgan individual wants, he wants to get dirt on Ralph. Ralph felt as if he was not the one that needed to answer the question but Morgan instead. Morgan looked like so high. Ralph could not think straight because he just drank up fifteen bottles or alcohol.Although he is a half breed, that does not mean that he cannot get drunk. Being half werewolf and half vampire has its perks and one of its perks is that he cannot get drunk. However, Ralph could still get drunk if he has taken huge amounts of alcohol mixed with wolfsbane. Adding the fact that alcohol is poisonous to vampires, Ralph felt drunk and weak as ever. But he did not expect to meet a colleague here. Moreover, this colleague is someon
Endrée's POVMy heart beat loudly in my chest out of anger. My fist collided with the wall as I smashed things around. "What the f*ck is going on?" I growled out as I held my head. What is wrong with me? That time, when I let that woman seduce me, I felt as if there was a force in me that made me succumb to her seduction.'Good. Now you made things worse between you and Ryna,' Dante sneered, growling as he snarled at me. 'Don't forget that things between you two were already fragile and now, you so deliberately made her feel like she's not good enough for you!' he added as he scoffed and shuffled his feet.I sighed and groaned as I slumped on the chair.'I'm sorry Dante. I did not for things like this to happen, I swear,' I said but he did not reply and ignored me.'Hey! Talk to me,' I commanded him and he whipped his head to glare at me.'Talk to her. Make up for what you did by apologizing!' he commanded me and stomped his right foot.'Okay. Bu
Third Person's POV A man walked with his men behind him. His hands clenched as he stared at the door of his office. He looked out of the window and then growled as he slammed his fist on the face of the man standing beside the door. “How could you be so reckless? Why weren’t you able to keep her safe? I told you to keep an eye on her didn’t I?” he seethed as he kicked him on his knees. The poor guy bit his lip to prevent himself from making a sound as he stumbled on the ground. Hendry glared down at him contemptuously. Hendry was stressed out and furious to find out that the experimental life inside the guard dog, Cynthia, was dead. He had thought that her condition was not that critical because of the incident a month ago but it turned out that the guards were not observant enough to find out that she was really having a hard time recovering. And yet, Hendry was not that blind with the fact that they loathed her so much so it made no sense for them t
Third Person’s POV When they arrive at Diego’s place, Rynari could only do nothing but gawk. The place looked amazing, it was totally the type of place she’ll want for herself. Comfortable and isolated. It was as if she saw a place where she would want to live forever. A sad smile slowly formed on her lips and Diego noticed this. He walked and stood beside her as she gazed all around the place in admiration. “So, what do you think? You like this kinds of places too, don’t you? Isolated?” he asked and smiled when she turned her head to face him. “Yeah, totally my type of place…” she said and her sentence trailed of as she sighed. “What’s wrong? Something bothering you?” Diego asked as if he did not know what was weighing on her mind. “Nothing. It’s just that I have no hope in this anymore, you know. I can’t have a place like this. I’ll never get to experience a life like yours. A life that is free of responsibility. Even
