Chloe’s POV

I stepped out of the car, feeling the cool night air on my skin. T

he building loomed before me, its dark windows giving away nothing. Lucas had called me earlier, insisting I meet him here. He said he had something really important to tell me. Lucas always had valid news, so I had to maneuver my guards and leave the palace discreetly, driving here alone to avoid being seen.

I approached the building with a sense of urgency. The streets were quiet, and the only sound was the occasional distant car passing by. As I reached the door, I hesitated for a moment before knocking. To my surprise, the door opened automatically.

"That's strange," I muttered to myself as I stepped inside.

The hallway was dimly lit, and the air smelled faintly of dust and old wood. "Lucas! Lucas!" I called out, my voice echoing off the walls. There was no response.

I checked my watch. It was 9:05 PM. We had agreed to meet at 9 PM sharp.

Where could he be? Why is he late again? I need to be back at the

Aiden’s POVSitting on my balcony, I scrolled through my phone, checking out the latest trends and news. It felt like ages since I last caught up on what was happening around the pack. I'd been so preoccupied with the throne issues and all the chaos surrounding it. It had been over a week since Claire and I paid Isabella to handle things, and I was really hoping she'd deliver on her promise. "I pray she delivers," I muttered to myself as I kept scrolling."Hey, brother! What are you doing out here? It's early evening," a familiar voice called out, breaking my concentration. I turned around, surprised to see Hudson walking towards me. Hudson never left his chambers. Ever."Wait, Hudson?" I asked, disbelief clear in my voice. "Why are you here? You never leave your chambers."Hudson smiled, a rare sight. "What brings you to my chambers, big brother?" I asked, still stunned."Is it a crime to come and see my younger brother again?" he replied, chuckling. "It's been a while since I steppe

Aiden’s POVIsabella didn’t need to be told twice. She bolted for the door, and I followed, glancing back to see Hudson struggling to regain his balance. We made it to the hallway, sprinting towards the elevators. I could hear Hudson shouting behind us, but I didn’t look back. We reached the elevators and I frantically pressed the button, praying the doors would open quickly. They finally did, and we rushed inside, hitting the button for the lobby. The doors closed just as Hudson reached the hallway, his face twisted in rage.As the elevator descended, I felt a rush of relief. We had made it. We were safe.Isabella was shaking, tears streaming down her face. I pulled her into a hug, trying to comfort her."It’s okay," I said, my voice trembling with emotion. "We’re safe now."When the elevator doors opened, Claire was waiting in the lobby, a look of relief on her face."Thank God," she said, rushing over to us. "Are you both okay?""We’re fine," I said, still holding onto Isabella. "T

Aiden’s POVI took a deep breath, trying to keep my voice steady. "Just some business deals I need to attend to," I said, trying to sound casual.Chloe looked at me with a side eye, her skepticism evident. "Are you sure, Aiden?" she asked. "Because now I don't know if I'm to believe you or not again. You are becoming so mysterious lately.""Trust me, baby," I said, reaching for her hand. "I'm telling the truth. I just need to finish up some stuff, okay? I'll have to go now.""Wait, so you won't stay till we are done with the food?" Chloe asked, her voice trembling as tears welled up in her eyes."Babe, please don't cry," I said, standing up and walking over to her. I gently wiped away her tears. "I promise I will be back before you know it.""That's what you always say," Chloe said, her voice breaking as she stood up from the table. "I've lost my appetite.""Chloe! Chloe!" I called after her as she walked away, but she didn't respond. I watched her leave, my heart heavy with guilt.I

Aiden’s POVHow the fuck is Hudson always ahead of me? I muttered to myself as I walked into another room, leaving Claire in the first. I’ve worked so hard for this throne. I’ve done everything. I went to another pack, even got a wife, and got the elders on my side. But why is Hudson always ahead of me? Always! My anger was a hot, boiling rage inside me. I didn’t even realize when I hit the nearby table, sending books and papers flying to the ground. I started smashing everything in sight, overturning chairs, knocking over shelves. The room was quickly becoming a disaster zone.Just then, Claire entered, her expression a mix of annoyance and concern. "When will you stop acting like a child, Aiden? You think smashing everything will solve anything? You must be joking."“Claire, just leave me alone!” I shouted, my voice echoing off the walls. She didn’t budge. Instead, she calmly picked up a chair that had fallen and set it upright before sitting down. "Just look at yourself. Is this ho

Aiden’s POVInside, the room was shrouded in darkness, the only light coming from the faint glow of the moon filtering through the curtains. I moved silently, my footsteps barely making a sound on the polished floor. Every sense was heightened, every nerve on edge as I searched for the perfect place to drop the bug."Where would I drop this?" I muttered to myself, my voice barely a whisper in the stillness of the room. I knew that every decision I made could mean the difference between success and failure, between victory and defeat.I moved from corner to corner, my eyes scanning every inch of the room for any sign of surveillance. I couldn't afford to make a mistake, couldn't afford to let my guard down for even a moment. And then, finally, I found it."Yeah... here," I said quietly, my voice filled with determination as I approached Hudson's bed drawer. It was the perfect spot, hidden from view yet still within reach of his conversations. I knew that the bug could stay on any surfa

Chloe’s POV"It might be worth a try," she said. "At least then you'll know you did everything you could.""You're right," I agreed. "I can't keep living like this. Something has to change."Ashley reached out and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "I'm here for you, Miss Chloe. If you ever need to talk, or if there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.""Thank you, Ashley," I said, feeling a little better. "I appreciate that."We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, the weight of my thoughts feeling a little lighter now that I had shared them. Ashley's presence was calming, and I felt grateful to have someone like her in my life."So, what's going on with you?" I asked, trying to shift the focus away from my troubles. "Anything new?"“Ma’am, I found out something new about Prince Aiden,” Ashley said.“Really?” I asked, sitting up a little straighter. “What did you find out?”Suddenly, my door opened.Speak of the devil, I thought. Aiden’s POVMy heart pounded in my chest as the words echoed in my mind. Compliments, gifts. She’s noticed me. I can see it in her eyes. She’s intrigued. Hudson's voice was so clear through the headset, each word slicing through me like a blade. How could Hudson do this to me? To Chloe? My beloved wife. I clenched my fists, struggling to keep my composure as I continued to listen.“You’re playing with fire, Hudson,” his friend warned. “If your brother finds out, it could be disastrous.”Hudson laughed again, a sinister sound that sent chills down my spine. “He won’t find out. He’s too busy with his own affairs to notice what’s happening right under his nose. Besides, I’m not just doing this for fun. I want her, and I’ll have her. One way or another.”I couldn’t take it anymore. I tore the headset off and threw it across the room, my mind a whirlwind of emotions. Chloe’s POVOver the next few days, I couldn't stop thinking about Ashley's words. Maybe she was right. Maybe I needed to talk to Aiden and tell him how I felt. The thought of confronting him was daunting, but I couldn't keep living with this unresolved tension. Finally, the day of the party arrived. The palace was buzzing with activity, with servants rushing around preparing for the grand event. I spent most of the day in my room, trying to calm my nerves. As the evening approached, Ashley helped me get ready, styling my hair and doing my makeup."You look absolutely stunning, ma'am," she said with a smile as she finished."Thank you, Ashley," I replied, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. Amidst the joy and laughter, Aiden and Chloe found themselves watching their children, Alex and Mia, play in the castle’s expansive gardens.Alex, now a young man of seventeen, had inherited his father’s strong, determined spirit. Aiden’s POVI stood there, my mind racing with a mix of shock, betrayal, and disbelief. The flashing red and blue lights of the police cars painted an eerie glow on the faces of the people I once called family. Claire, Mason, and Hudson were being led away in handcuffs, their expressions a mixture of anger and resignation."It's funny," I muttered, more to myself than anyone else, "how people you call your family and blood would turn against you."Ashley, my best friend, stood beside me, her face pale. "I can't believe they had a hand in your son's disappearance," she whispered, her voice trembling. "All this time..."I shook my head, feeling a bitter laugh bubbling up. "Yeah, I know the world is wicked and all, but nah... this was too massive," I said, my voice rising with emotion. "Like wow... damn... so I really had fake bloods around me."The words felt foreign in my mouth, like speaking in a language I didn't quite understand. I watched as the police shoved Claire into the back o

Claire’s POVI arrived at the abandoned building, its skeletal structure of steel beams and concrete looming ominously against the twilight sky. This place, once a construction site left unfinished, now served as a perfect hideout for clandestine activities. Pulling up in my car, I shut off the engine and stepped out, my senses on high alert. Just then, my phone buzzed with a call from Mason."Mason, where are they?" I asked, my tone brisk."They’re inside the building, Claire. Just walk in, and you’ll find the kid," Mason's voice crackled over the line."Alright," I replied, my eyes scanning the darkened entrance. "I’m heading in now."Walking towards the entrance, the crunch of gravel underfoot punctuated the silence of the evening. As I stepped inside, the dim light from the setting sun barely penetrated the building’s interior, leaving me in shadowed uncertainty. I called out as I moved further in, my voice echoing off the empty walls."Mason, I’m inside. I don’t see anyone yet."

Claire’s POVI entered my room and slammed the door, shaking the walls with the force of my anger. My breath came in ragged gasps, and my heart pounded furiously in my chest. God!!!! Chloe!!!!!! After all I have done to get rid of you, you still were able to squeeze yourself back into my life. Wow... Nice. I muttered to myself, an evil smile playing on my lips as I paced back and forth, trying to calm the storm inside me. I will make sure you and Aiden never have peace of mind. The room was dimly lit, the curtains drawn tight to shut out the world. My desk was cluttered with papers and books, the remnants of a life I was trying to rebuild. But now, all I could see was red. Memories of Chloe flooded my mind – the times she outshone me, the moments she humiliated me, the way she always seemed to have Aiden's attention.I paused in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. My eyes were wild, filled with a mix of rage and determination. "You always thought you were better than me, di

Aiden’s POVThe room was dimly lit, and the smell of antiseptic was heavy in the air. I blinked slowly, trying to clear the fog from my mind. My head throbbed with a searing pain that felt like it was tearing through my skull. It took a moment for my surroundings to come into focus—the hospital room, the steady beeping of monitors, and the IV drip attached to my arm."Finally, you're awake," a familiar voice broke through the haze. It was Lucas, sitting in a chair beside my bed, his face a mixture of relief and concern."Lucas..." I croaked, my voice raspy and weak. "What... what happened?"He leaned forward, his eyes never leaving mine. "Aiden, we thought we lost you. Chloe managed to reach me after it all happened. She said you both were attacked."I struggled to sit up, wincing as pain shot through my body. "Yeah, we were... Is she okay? Are the kids okay?"Lucas hesitated, his silence stretching like a taut wire. I repeated my question, my voice rising in urgency. "Lucas, are Chlo

Aiden’s POVI was beyond happy as I drove my family back with me to my pack. Having Chloe and my kids in the car was one of the happiest things that had ever happened to me. As I heard Mia and Alex having their playful banter in the back seat, I couldn’t help but smile. Yeah, finally, I had gotten what I had been missing all this while to myself."Why are you smiling really hard?" Chloe asked, her voice pulling me back from my thoughts."Ooh, nothing," I said, my smile widening."Hmm, you sure?" she asked, giving me a sideways glance."Yeah, just thinking about how perfect everything is right now," I replied, glancing at her briefly before focusing back on the road."I can see that," she said with a soft laugh. "It’s kind of contagious, you know.""What is?" I asked, curious."Your smile. The kids are smiling too. Look at them," she said, turning slightly to look at the back seat.I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw Mia and Alex giggling, their faces lit up with joy. It warmed my

"It is said that they are returning as couples.""What! Couples? How?" I exclaimed, standing up so abruptly that my chair toppled over. "Isn't Aiden meant to kill her for him to have peace? Wasn't that what the goddess we paid instructed him to do?""Yes, sir, but—""But what?" I cut the guard off angrily. "See, get me Claire," I told him, even as I sat back angrily in the bathtub. "What sort of rubbish is this?"The guard nodded quickly and scurried out of the room. I leaned back in the tub, the warm water doing little to soothe my rising irritation. How could Aiden betray us like this? What could possibly have happened?Minutes later, Claire,
