Jensen's Point of View

As the first rays of sunlight filter through the curtains, I stir awake, blinking against the soft morning light. Stretching, I feel a lingering calm from last night’s run. The rain had been relentless, but it had done wonders to clear my head. The storm outside had mirrored the storm within me, and running through it had been exactly what I needed.

Sitting up, I rub my face, the memory of Rosalee’s horrified expression flashing through my mind. My mate. The one I’ve waited for my entire life. And yet, she seems to want nothing to do with me.

I shake my head, willing myself to focus. I can’t let this distract me, not completely. There are still matters at hand that need my attention.

Standing, I pull on a fresh shirt and jeans, then lace up my boots. As I button my cuffs, I open a mind link to Nyx and Ronan.

“Meet me in the dining hall for breakfast. We need to talk about next steps.”

Their replies come quickly, Nyx’s sharp and efficient, Ronan’s gruff but agree

Rosalee's Point of ViewThe soft morning light filters through the curtains as I smooth the last corner of the bed, making sure it’s neat and perfect. The room smells faintly of fresh linens and the lavender cleaning spray I always use. After what happened last night, focusing on the familiar task and the familiar scent helps keep my nerves in check and helps me to keep my mind from wandering to stranger and the implications of what he said. I'm still focusing on my task, bending down and making sure the bed linen is absolutely perfect, when there is a quick knock on the door and it opens. I glance up to see him, the stranger from last night, standing in the door. His intoxicating scent hits my nose, overwhelming the familiar scent of the room and my heart skips a beat, but I quickly plaster a polite smile on my face, hiding the storm of emotions brewing inside of me. Play dumb, I remind myself. That’s the plan. Maybe if I act like I don’t know what he’s talking about, he’ll get bored

  • The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate   Chapter 8

Jensen's Point of ViewI stand motionless in the room, staring at the door Rosalee just disappeared through. My chest feels tight, and my Lycan is restless, growling in frustration at my lack of action. Every fiber of my being screams at me to chase after her, to demand answers, to make her face the undeniable truth of what we are to each other. But I force myself to stay rooted in place, clenching my fists at my sides as I wrestle against the primal urge."Why is she doing this?" The thought echoes in my mind like a relentless drumbeat. I’ve never heard of mates meeting and wanting nothing to do with each other. It’s unthinkable. The bond is too strong, too sacred. And yet, here I am, standing in the aftermath of rejection. Her words play over and over in my head, and I can’t shake the haunted look in her eyes. Whatever she’s hiding, it’s something she believes is so terrible that pretending not to understand what I’m talking about is her only option. But what could it be? What could

Rosalee's Point of ViewThe dining hall buzzes with the quiet hum of conversation, the clatter of silverware against plates, and the occasional burst of laughter from a nearby table. I sit at one of the smaller tables near the window, half hidden from the guests, the sunlight streaming through casting a warm glow on the wooden surface.Across from me, Dameon chats animatedly about something, probably a story from his morning shift, but his words barely register. My mind is elsewhere, tangled in the events of the morning. No matter how hard I try, I can’t shake the memory of Jensen standing there in that room, his piercing gaze locked on mine, his voice so calm yet insistent. His words echo in my mind, “I know you heard me last night, and I know you feel the sparks.” He wasn’t wrong, but that doesn’t make this any easier.I push a piece of bread around my plate absentmindedly, my appetite long gone. My chest feels heavy with the weight of my thoughts. "Maybe I should just tell him outr

Jensen's Point of ViewI make my way through the quiet hallways of the hotel, my steps purposeful as I head toward Rosalee’s room. I need to talk to her again, to try and make her see that I’m not here to hurt her. As I round the corner leading to her door, I stop in my tracks. There she is, slipping out of her room. Her movements are cautious, her eyes darting around as though she’s making sure no one sees her. Instinctively, I press myself against the wall, masking my scent and softening my steps. My years of training have taught me how to move like a shadow, and tonight, the light rain only adds to my advantage.I follow her at a distance, keeping to the edges of the hallway and then out into the night. She doesn’t notice me as she makes her way toward the forest, her coat pulled tight against the drizzle. Her movements are deliberate, each step carefully placed, as though she’s done this many times before.Once she reaches the edge of the forest, she pauses, looking around again t

Jensen's Point of ViewThe faint light of dawn seeps through the curtains, casting soft shadows across the room. I blink my eyes open, groggy and unrested. My body feels heavy, as if the weight of unanswered questions from the night before has settled into my bones. I had spent most of the night tossing and turning, my mind caught in an endless loop of possibilities, each more improbable than the last."What is Rosalee?" The question echoes in my head as I sit up, running a hand through my disheveled hair. I sigh deeply, frustration bubbling under the surface. Nothing is clearer this morning than it was last night.I swing my legs over the side of the bed, my bare feet touching the cool wooden floor. The chill jolts me slightly, grounding me in the present. I stand and make my way to the bathroom, my movements sluggish and deliberate. The bathroom is small but functional, with a simple shower stall, a mirror above the sink, and a stack of neatly folded towels on a shelf.Turning on th

  • The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate   Chapter 12

Rosalee's Point of View The faint glow of dawn fills the kitchen, slightly dispelling the dark of the night and the quiet hum of the early morning welcomes me as I step inside. The hotel is still asleep, the halls silent, except for the occasional creak of the old building settling. It’s peaceful, but my mind is anything but. I didn’t sleep much last night. I kept tossing and turning as my thoughts refused to quiet down. The run in the woods had helped, though, only briefly, because as soon as I returned to my room, Jensen’s presence, his words, his eyes, everything about him seeped back into my thoughts like an unshakable shadow. That’s why I’m here now, in the kitchen, st the break of dawn, long before anyone else has arrived. I needed something to do, something to occupy my hands and quiet my restless mind. I slip on an apron and tie it securely around my waist, taking comfort in the familiar routine. The kitchen is cool and still, the faint scent of flour and spices still ling

All the effort I’ve put into hiding, all the walls I’ve built, have crumbled in an instant. Slowly, I turn to face him, my expression guarded even as my heart pounds in my chest. “And?” I say, my voice steady despite the storm raging inside of me. I brace myself for the inevitable, his rejection, the disgust, the word monster hurled at me like a weapon. But what happens next is something that I never dreamt of, even in my wildest dreams. “You can’t play dumb anymore, Rosalee,,” Jensen says, his tone firm but not cruel. His eyes lock onto mine, burning with an intensity that makes it impossible to look away. “I know you know what I am to you

Jensen's Point of View Her words echo in my mind, sharp and cutting. "A monster. An abomination. A freak of nature." I stand there, frozen, as the weight of her pain crashes over me. She truly believes that about herself. My chest tightens, anger rising, not at her, but at whatever has made her think this way. She’s no monster. She’s my mate. I shake my head, snapping out of my daze. I can’t let her leave like this. I can’t let her believe she’s anything less than extraordinary. Without another thought, I turn and stride out of the kitchen, following the faint trace of her scent. The rain outside has dulled it slightly, but the pull of our bond is unmistakable. It tugs at me, guiding me through the halls of the hotel, straight to her. When I reach her room, the door is slightly ajar. I pause for a moment, steadying myself before I step inside without bothering to knock. Rosalee is standing by her bed, her back turned to the door. She is hurriedly packing clothes into a worn duffe

Rosalee's Point of View I can still feel the weight of Nyx’s gaze like a physical pressure on my back, even though I haven’t looked in her direction again. It takes everything in me to keep my expression neutral, my body relaxed, like I don’t feel her eyes dissecting every flicker of movement I make. Then Jensen’s voice cuts through the tension. “Nyx and Ronan will show you to your rooms where you can stay the night.” A few heads nod, others exchange glances, the kind that speak volumes in silence. Nyx finally breaks her stare and turns with Ronan to begin leading the others out. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding. As the crowd starts filtering through the door, the room becomes quieter, emptier, but not less tense. Jensen turns his attention to a man lingering by the file cabinets. “Bruce, I will personally show you to your room later. For now, we need to talk.” Bruce gives a curt nod of his head, calm but alert, his posture still rigid from everything t

Rosalee's Point of View The house feels like it’s holding its breath. The late afternoon light filters through the curtains in long golden shafts, stretching across the floor and casting everything in warm, deceptive calm. But inside, my nerves are raw. I’ve paced the living room more times than I can count, the same worry gnawing at me like a steady drumbeat. Freya’s not answering. Jensen’s still not back. Something is wrong. I move to the kitchen, grabbing a cold bottle of water from the fridge, the coolness barely cutting through the heat simmering beneath my skin. Just as I twist off the cap, the unmistakable sound of the front door creaks open. I freeze. Turning slowly, heart in my throat, I see him. Jensen. He steps through the doorway, still in the clothes he left in, his boots marked with dried mud, his shirt wrinkled and torn near the shoulder. His hair is a mess, swept back like he’s been running his fingers through it all day. But it’s not the state of him tha

Jensen's Point of ViewThe SUV jerks to a stop in front of the Shadow Vale pack house, the tires crunching over broken debris and blood soaked gravel. I step out into the chaos, my eyes sweeping over the scene with a sharp, assessing gaze. The damage is extensive. The front of the pack house is scarred, scorch marks along the outer walls, shattered windows gaping like broken eyes, and the heavy front doors have been splintered inward. Bodies, some covered with tarps, others already being tended, are scattered across the lawn and walkways. But despite the carnage, movement is everywhere. Shadow Vale wolves are already working, clearing debris, carrying the wounded, cleaning away what they can in the wake of violence.Victor got here just in time.It could have been so much worse.I’m just about to step forward to help

Bruce's Point of View The morning sun filters in through the window of my office, casting long golden rays across the floor as I finish tying the laces of my boots, ready to head out and lead the pack's morning training session. It's a routine I’ve come to appreciate, a moment of calm discipline before the day’s chaos inevitably begins. But today, chaos doesn't wait. A sharp, forceful tug ripples through my consciousness, a mind link, urgent and heavy with fear. I immediately open myself to it, and Alpha Celine’s voice slams into my mind, frantic and breathless. “Bruce! Call Alpha Jensen and prepare to fight… Crimsonclaw is here!” Her words are like ice down my spine, but before I can even respond, the link cuts off, gone, severed in an instant. My body moves before my thoughts catch up. I surge to my feet and open a mind link to the entire Shadow Vale pack, projecting my voice with the full force of my authority. “We are under attack! Everyone get in your positions. This is n

  • The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate   Chapter 82

Rosalee's Point of View The house is unusually quiet today, a calm that’s almost deceiving. I'm curled up on one of the plush couches in Jensen’s living room, my knees drawn to my chest, flipping through one of his books on werewolf history. The book is old, the leather worn and pages slightly yellowed, but the content is fascinating, stories of the first Lycans, ancient alliances, blood feuds, and sacred rituals long forgotten by most modern packs. I lose myself in the pages, the soft ticking of a wall clock the only sound accompanying my reading. Today’s the day, the official signing of the alliance. By noon, every pack should be arriving. The thought brings a twist of nerves in my stomach, even though I’ve told myself time and again that I’m just an observer here. Still, I haven’t seen Jensen since early this morning. He left in a rush, saying he had final arrangements to handle in his office before the ceremony. Just as I flip to another page, something about a centuries old

  • The Lycan King's Hybrid Mate   Chapter 81

Jensen's Point of View The energy in my office is focused and efficient as the final preparations for the alliance signing falls into place. Papers are neatly stacked, chairs arranged, and the soft light filtering through the windows gives the room an unusual calm before the storm look. Nyx is standing near the window, her arms crossed as she updates me. “We’ve prepared the rooms on the fifth floor just in case anyone needs to stay overnight,” she says, her voice calm. I nod my head, “Thank you, Nyx.” Turning to Ronan, who stands on the other side of the room by the small table covered in maps and files, I raise an eyebrow. “I went on a border run myself this morning,” he says, his posture straight, his voice steady. “I didn’t see anything suspicious, but I’ve doubled our patrols for today. Just to be safe.” Another nod from me. “Good. It seems everything is in place. Now we just have to wait for them to show up.” Nyx and Ronan both give a single, synchronized nod, the air fil

Freya's Point of ViewThe moment I hear the sickening crack of Celine’s skull against the tree, I shift back into my human form. My breath comes in ragged gasps, my body battered and bloodied, but I keep my balance, even as my broken leg trembles beneath me.I take a step forward, wincing as pain shoots up my limb, but I don’t stop.Celine lies motionless in the dirt, her body twisted at an unnatural angle. Blood seeps into the earth beneath her, pooling around her like a dark, scarlet halo.I stare at her, my chest rising and falling in shallow breaths, waiting for any sign of life.Nothing.The Alpha of Shadow Vale is dead.A slow, satisfied smile creeps onto my lips, but before I can relish my victory, a familiar tug at my mind interrupts me.Ravena’s urgent voice rings out through the pack link.“We have company. Retreat.”Her tone is sharp, a warning laced with urgency.I immediately open a private link to her.“I need your help. I’m in a clearing, about a mile east of the pack h

Her bright blue eyes glow with excitement as if she’s savoring the tension, waiting for me to strike first. But I don’t.I stand my ground, my muscles coiled and ready. The moment stretches, and I see her smirk falter, frustration flickering across her face. She wanted me to lunge, to give her an opening. Not happening. With a sharp exhale, she moves. Her punch comes fast, aimed directly at my face. But I’m ready for her. I sidestep, letting the momentum of her strike carry her forward. Celine's Point of View The steady glow of my computer screen casts a soft blue light over my office, the only sound being the rhythmic tapping of my fingers on the keyboard. The scent of freshly brewed coffee lingers in the air, mixing with the faint scent of the old oak furniture. It’s just another day, until I feel the familiar tug of a mind link as someone attempts to connect. With a sigh, I open the link, and Owen’s voice comes through, slightly tense. “Alpha. There is a woman at the border gate. She won’t give us her name, she just keeps insisting that she wants to talk to you.” I frown, my fingers pausing over the keyboard. “Tell her to state why she is here, and if she won’t, then she should leave.” “We’ve tried that, Alpha, but she refuses to leave. She says she will only speak to you and she won’t leave until she does.” Annoyance creeps into my tone. “Fine. Escort her in. I will send her away myself.” “On it, Alpha.” I cut the link and lean back in my chair, staring
