Unruly behavior đ„đ„đ„
**Lucas' POV** To be completely honest, I seriously didn't know what to think anymore. On one hand, Simon and I both had our mate, a slave who was brought into our house from Alpha Klausâ pack. Then there was Veronica, on the other hand, whom Simon had wholeheartedly accepted. We had both gone out to inspect the work of some laborers in the pack, and Simon had said he wanted to visit a friend in a nearby town. âBut why do you want to visit Maurice today? Can't we just go together on another day?â âNo, not at all. He will be traveling in the next two days, and I have quite a number of things to discuss with him. Or will you just come along with me now?â âI think I'll pass on that. I'm already tired just standing under this scorching sun, so I'll just be on my way back to the mansion.â âAlright then, bye.â Very swiftly, Simon instantly transformed into his wolf self and began running straight out of town. I stood on the spot for a while, with no single thought coming to mind. As soon as realization hit me once again that the sun was scorching like there was no tomorrow, I quickly transformed into my wolf self and began running towards the mansion. As I progressed through the woods that led straight to the mansion's entrance, the closer I got to the house, the more heightened my senses became. âSomething is going on in there,â I mumbled to myself, as I increased my pace to find out what exactly was happening inside. When I got there, I could already hear the sounds of yelling and slaps echoing through the air. It angered me to know that the maids actually had the audacity to be fighting inside my house. I walked in, only to be welcomed by the scene of about 5 to 6 maids hitting and dragging Ashley off one of them, who was receiving slaps and blows from the ground where Ashley had trapped her. Of all things, fighting was definitely something Simon and I did not condone among our domestic workers. However, it further angered me even more to see that Ashley, of all people, was also among them. âAnd what in the world is going on here?â I asked very angrily, and I couldn't help but notice that it was at the sound of my voice that each and every one of them stopped what they were doing. A few of them had even started fidgeting, but I was not surprised about that. Few of the maids who had been with us before had engaged in physical fights in the past, and it instantly cost them their jobs. This consequently got these maids to already be scared about what was going to happen to them as well. âI believe you all can hear me because I asked a question that demands an immediate response. What exactly was going on here?â I spoke up again, and as I looked at everyone in the room very carefully, it was so obvious to see that they were all too scared to say anything; the fear was just written all over them. The room still remained annoyingly silent, so I just looked towards Ashley where she stood very quietly. I continued looking in her direction, and after a while, she then raised her head a bit to look at me. The moment she realized that my eyes were actually on her, she immediately looked back down, probably to avoid getting me too angry with her. I got that they were all scared and all, but having no one even saying anything to me just got me even more upset. I was about to yell out to them one more time when Mortica quickly stepped forward to speak. She went on about Ashley not doing as told, and in my mind, I was just wondering what that had anything to do with the question I had asked. Giving her a questioning look, she instantly went straight to the point of what I had asked. Looking at Ashley, I couldn't help but wonder just why she had to get herself involved in all this mess. Well, whatever or whoever might have started this fight, I didn't care to know anymore. They were all getting punished, and there was no changing that. I dismissed the rest of them, and they all happily left the room to go carry on their respective duties. Ashley was about to leave, but I stopped her. Without giving her the chance to respond, I instantly dragged her up to her bedroom with me. My original intention was to have her do all the chores by herself, but then it dawned on me that I had not asked for her own perspective as well. When we got to the room, I proceeded to hear what she had to say, and after listening, I just decided to lessen her punishment. It wasn't really her fault, but still, she shouldn't have reacted to the maids through physical tussle. After waiting for a while, thinking about what to give her as punishment, I finally came up with something. At the end of the day, the punishment I gave her was to remain in the room without food or water for 24 hours. No one was to visit her, and neither was she to leave to visit anyone until the time was up. Without waiting for her to react to the punishment I had given her, I made my way out, not wanting to look back to see whether she was hurt or not. She had committed a punishable offense, and I wasn't going to let sentiments get in the way of my judgment. I left the room and thought for a while just why Simon had to invite Veronica over for dinner with her whole family. There was already pent-up anger with Veronica towards Ashley, and from the looks of things, the feeling was definitely mutual. Fortunately for everyone, the punishment I passed to Ashley was one that would prevent her from meeting Veronica, and vice versa. The end of the tunnel !!!**Ashley's POV**As I stood by the side, watching my arch-nemesis being taken away, I honestly couldnât tell what I was feeling at that point. Although this moment had been a highly anticipated one for me, it just didnât feel right somehow. As soon as the guard announced that her banishment was to begin, I could feel my wolfâs countenance instantly change. I remained motionless where I stood, watching the whole thing unfold. Nobody moved until she was finally out of sight, with the men trailing behind her as she went on her way. I couldnât shake the feeling I was getting, although a wave of relief washed over me. All this while, I had wanted her downfallâto see her get the punishment she truly deserved. But now that it had happened, I surprisingly didnât feel as excited as I thought Iâd be.âAre you feeling alright?â I heard Simon ask as he placed a hand on my shoulder, and I nodded.âYeah, I⊠I justâââItâs fine, you donât have to say anything. I can underst
Outplayed....**Veronicaâs POV**Right after informing me of the success of the plan, Drago had actually requested that I come over to see things for myself, and as I drove to the arranged meeting point, I couldnât contain the mix of emotions I felt. It was a strange blend of excitement, adrenaline, and anxiety. Drago had assured me everything had gone according to plan, but amidst the excitement, I couldnât shake off the nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach. Something didnât feel right. As I approached the hideout, my phone buzzed again. This time, it was a voice message from Drago.âGreetings, your Highness. I just wanted to let you know that these kids have been crying ever since they were brought here. I don't know what happened exactly, but when I went out to find something for them to eat, one of my men apparently shot one of them, and now he's dead. I'm really sorry, your Highness.â The moment the voice note ended, I had to slam on the brakes because the shock hit me harder
Love and war !!!We made our way back to the mansion quietly, sneaking in before anyone noticed our absence. Even as we slipped back into our normal roles, something between us had changedâstrengthened. There was a deeper understanding now, a silent promise that we would stand by each other no matter what came next. What came next was the reckoning we had been preparing for.Later that day, Simon and I gathered in his study with the sole aim of finalizing our next steps regarding Veronica. We knew time was running out. With Fabian already in our custody, Veronica was bound to make a move sooner rather than later. Her desperation would push her into action, and we needed to be ready.âSheâs going to crack soon,â Simon said, his voice filled with certainty. âEspecially now that weâve got Fabian. Thereâs no way she can keep up this facade much longer.âI nodded in agreement. âWe just need to keep the pressure on her. Fabian already gave us some leadsânow itâs only a matter of time before
The hatch **Lucas's POV**Right after the whole thing with Ashley presenting ample evidence against Veronica, although it was hard for us, Simon and I just had to keep to ourselves. Well, at least until we had finally achieved what we wanted, which was actually pretty close to our reach at that point. I never liked Veronica from the start, but this was something I could never see myself believing she committed. It now makes me wonder if she really was the one who killed Mortica as well.As I sat on my bed thinking about all these things, I could feel a knot forming in my head, and I ruffled my hair as I tried relieving myself of the headache. As it stands now, we currently have all the top perpetrators in our custody back at the torture house, and the one person we needed to find is that slimy Fabian. Just as I had mentioned to Ashley a while back, we needed to keep things on the low so that we would easily be able to use Veronica to get to him. After all, the reports we had been get
Surprise, surprise!!!âYes, yes, thatâs right! She seemed very secretive about the whole thing, like she didnât want anyone to know weâd left or where we went.ââI see,â I responded, finally removing my claws from his thigh. Lyon gasped in relief, but the moment Simon turned his glare toward him, he silenced himself.Simon and I exchanged a knowing look.âAre you thinking what Iâm thinking?â Simon asked, his eyes narrowing with suspicion.âBet,â I replied, a hint of realization dawning on me.Together, we turned our gazes back toward Lyon, who flinched in fear under our combined scrutiny.Simon crossed his arms, his jaw tightening as he addressed Lyon again. âYou better hope for your sake that what youâve said checks out. If we find out youâve withheld anything, even the smallest detail, youâll regret ever stepping foot in this mansion.ââI swear, Your Highness, thatâs all I know! I told you everything!â Lyon pleaded, desperation evident in his voice.I took a step forward, looming ov
Feel the heat....I stepped forward, towering over him. âYou thought you could hide in the shadows, Fabian, but your time is up. Weâve heard everything.âHis face paled, and he stammered, âI-I can explain! It wasnât my ideaâVeronica pushed me into this! I was just trying to survive!ââYouâll have plenty of time to explain,â I said coldly. âTake him away.âFabianâs eyes darted to the exit, but before he could make any sudden moves, our men swiftly blocked the way. He was trapped. The fear in his eyes deepened as he realized there was no escape.Simon crossed his arms. âLetâs make this simple. You come quietly without receiving any beatings, or we drag you out of here with no less than 20 slaps already landed on you.âFabian hesitated for a moment, but when he saw that resistance was futile, he slumped in defeat. âFine,â he muttered. âIâll go.âAs we escorted him out of the building, Simon leaned over and whispered in my ear, âNow that we have him, itâs only a matter of time before Vero
