CHAPTER 2

- Sold Out

My nightmare has become my reality. It has been a straight week in Alpha Klaus's Pack house, and my body already looks disgusting and terrible.

It's as though the Moon goddess hates me so much, or why else would she make me do the exact opposite thing? When they instruct me to move to the left, I end up going to the right.

When I am asked to speak, my lips won't open. Fate works in reverse for me. If I sow good, I reap evil.

That's the reason why, while serving with my head down, trying to make myself smaller than my small frame, I trip on a fair leg, my tray of wine flying from my hands and tumbling to the ground, crashing loudly and spilling its red content against the pale, fair feet of Alpha Klaus's daughter in the middle of his speech. I raise my head and catch Alpha Klaus's gaze, and at that moment, my heart beats wildly.

A few seconds pass before Alpha Klaus’s daughter lets out a horrific scream, one accompanied by a thunderous slap, as if she has to process that I've spilled expensive red wine on her elegant dress.

Her hand smacks my head to the right as an apology leaves my lips. Then to the left, and right again. She keeps smacking me as everyone stares with their mouths wide open at what I've done until the Alpha clears his throat and calls for order.

“That's enough, princess,” Alpha Klaus glares at me, and I swallow, feeling my cheek burn so much.

“It's not enough! This little bitch keeps getting on my nerves. I knew it; you envy me so much. Why? Because your entire pack is under my dad's rule and your whore mother is dead!” She retorts, causing my heart to bleed.

“What!? And my mother isn't a whore!” I say, tears stinging in my eyes. “And I don't envy you, not for once!” That comes out as a whisper.

Tears threaten to fall down, but I don't want that. It would worsen my humiliation. I have to wait for them to take me out for a beating when the enforcers give me a good reason to cry. My lips quiver as the tears slide down my face. I blink rapidly to clear them, but they fall faster the more I blink.

As the Alpha gestured to the guards, two towering figures, draped in masculinity, seized me from the hall. The clatter of their boots echoed as the Alpha's daughter stormed out, leaving chaos in her wake.

“You never seem to learn, do you?” One guard muttered, shoving me harshly to the ground.

“Strip!” the other commanded, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. My eyes widened in disbelief at his demand.

“Strip?” My body trembled, recoiling even as pain flared from the cuts on my ankles and knees.

“I don't like repeating myself, fool. Strip!” His words were punctuated by a resounding slap that seemed to drown out all other noise.

With quivering hands, I began to shed each layer of clothing, each garment feeling like a piece of my dignity stripped away. Soon, I stood in nothing but my bra and underwear.

“Take them off! Now!” Another blow landed on my back, and I couldn't stifle the cry of agony that tore from my throat.

I didn't want to die, but I couldn't bear the thought of debasing myself further by baring it all before these guards, to be paraded like merchandise.

Earlier, the Alpha had made it clear that I was inadequate in bed before relegating me to the maids' quarters. Since then, he'd gone to great lengths to ensure I regretted ever existing.

At one point, he'd even threatened to sell me off to the Heartless, merciless Lycan Twins.

Following their instructions, I closed my eyes as shame washed over me. "The Lycan Kings would love to see this," they chuckled, their hands slapping and touching my backside.

Despite my slender appearance, I possessed an attractive figure, boasting curves in all the right places.

The guards grabbed the whip and began mercilessly flogging me as they forced me onward.

Mocked and laughed at, I endured the lashes as they herded me towards the Slave Hunt. This place was a haven for rogue wolves destined for sale to the twin Lycan Kings.

They were the wealthiest and most powerful Alphas around, true descendants of the Moon goddess. Their lycanthropy differed from others, standing taller and ten times stronger, resembling humans more closely.

I dreaded being sold as a slave there; rumors spoke of brutal consequences for even looking at the twin Lycan Kings. Many believed their lineage traced back to the Holy Mother of the Moon goddess.

"Help! Please, I don't want to be sold!" I cried out, pounding my fists against the wall to no avail. The others in the room regarded me as if I were lost in a dream.

Desperately, I pleaded for Alpha Klaus to give me another chance to prove my worth in bed, despite the laughter it provoked. I'd rather stay in this pack than face being sold off.

"Stop crying! No one's coming to rescue you," a girl my age said, draping an old blanket over me.

"I don't want to be sold. I can't bear it," I sobbed, tears streaming down my face as the girl offered a comforting smile.

"It's okay, come here," she said, pulling me into a warm embrace and stroking my hair as I nestled against her.

As I closed my eyes, my pounding head dulled the sounds around me. Suddenly, screams and shouts jolted me awake.

"What's happening?" I asked the girl beside me, wrapping the blanket tightly around myself.

"They're taking us to the van," she replied, as we were dragged away from the Slave Hunt towards the van which would take us Ghost Moon Pack, the domain of the Lycan Twins.

Blindfolded and forced together, I could feel someone's breath close to me, discomfort gnawing at me, but I remained silent.

After hours of driving, we were forcibly ejected like animals, still blindfolded. As the guards removed the blindfolds, my vision momentarily blanked out.

"Listen up!! If you're under 30, go to the left!" commanded the imposing figure with a mane of white beards, his voice echoing like a cacophony of thunderstorms.

We obeyed his instructions, and immediately they began scrutinizing us, inspecting our teeth, eyes, and skin. However, amidst the chaos, I felt a wave of dizziness and nausea washing over me.

“No! Don't take my daughter away!” A man yelled as his little daughter was taken away. It was foolish of him to charge after the mighty men; however, he ended up being punched in the face, sending him flying.

“I'm scared,” I muttered, watching how cruel they were. If his guards were so ruthless, who knows how exactly their Alphas would be.

My mother used to tell me about their father and how merciless he was. Even I had heard from some slaves and omegas that once you enter that big gate, there's no turning back.

Strange how I didn't listen and gave my best in bed to Alpha Klaus. On the contrary, Alpha Klaus was a sex freak. I nearly died the first night with him.

He would practically choke and slap one until you turned red, almost at the point of meeting your ancestors.

I watched as they put something on each person's wrist, signifying we were now slaves to the Alpha Kings. This is common in some packs, but this was highly brutal.

“Move to the center, if you know you're a female!” The man instructed, and in the process of moving, I fell down, hitting my head on their pillars.

As I lay there, dazed and in pain, I couldn't help but wonder what awaited us under the rule of the Alpha Kings. Would there be any hope for escape or freedom? The fear gripped me tighter as I realized the magnitude of our situation.

As I struggled to get up, the men continued their brutal work, whipping anyone who dared to resist or falter.

"Get up, you worthless piece of trash!" one of them barked, delivering a sharp lash across my back.

Gritting my teeth against the pain, I forced myself onto my knees, determined not to show any weakness. Every movement sent waves of agony through my body, but I refused to let them see me break.

"Pathetic," another scoffed, raising his whip for another strike.

Struggling to maintain my balance, I attempted to pace, hoping it might alleviate my discomfort.

"Stay in place!" the command thundered, presumably directed at me, yet my vision was growing increasingly blurred. It wasn't until the lash of his whip stung my neck that I realized he was addressing me, and I gasped, collapsing to my knees.

"Stop it!!!" a fierce growl pierced the air, striking terror into my heart. I couldn't see who it was, but I caught the scent of intoxication, oddly invigorating amidst the chaos, arousing a strange sense of excitement within me.

Losing consciousness, I slammed my head against the ground with a resounding thud, my vision fading to white. It was as if I were being embraced by the moon goddess herself.

This marked the culmination of my suffering, the painful end to my existence. I knew I was on the brink of death, mere minutes away from oblivion.
