Chapter 55: Satisfied

Selina’s POV

"Giselle, what do you want from me this time?" I asked coldly, my patience hanging by a thread. Doesn't she have anything better to do than constantly pick on me?

She scoffed, eyeing me like I was some unsightly blemish in her perfect world. I took a deep breath, willing myself to stay calm.

No matter where I go—the hallway, outside the twins' room, the kitchen—she finds a way to corner me. She has no shame, and honestly, she’s exhausting.

"Can’t I just be here by coincidence? Does this garden belong to you, Selina?" she snapped sarcastically.

Coincidence, my ass. My expression turned serious. "Cut the crap, Giselle. What do you want this time?" I wasn’t in the mood for her nonsense.

Her lips curled into a smirk. "Don’t you find it strange that Reagan hasn’t come back to you yet?" she taunted.

My brows furrowed. So what if he hasn’t? He left, didn’t he? And he hasn’t returned yet.

"Maybe when he returns, he won’t love you anymore. Maybe he l

Chapter 56: Accusations Selina's POV Loud, consecutive knocks echoed through the door, startling both Jiya and me. We exchanged glances, wondering who could be at the door. “Stay here. I’ll check,” she said, standing up. I wasn’t sure why, but a sense of unease settled in my chest. I glanced toward the door where Jiya was standing. The door was only slightly ajar, preventing me from seeing who was outside. But judging by Jiya’s expression—anger and worry etched on her face—whoever it was had brought trouble. She glanced at me, her eyes filled with a mix of fury and concern. What’s going on? I wondered. I looked at the twins eating beside me, oblivious to the tension. “You two stay here and finish your food. I’ll check who’s at the door,” I said to them. Sky looked up, his little face scrunching up in defiance. “If it’s him, Mom, don’t let him in. We’re still mad at him,” he said with a pout. “Yeah, Mom, Sky’s right. We don’t want to see him,” Abi added, crossing her arms. I

Chapter 57: Hopelessly Selina’s POV My emotions were a mess, but anger burned brighter than anything else. Damn Giselle. How does someone even drown in soil? Did she really drown, or was she just pretending? I scanned my surroundings. The only light in the dungeon came from a single torch outside my cell. It was dark, cramped, and reeked of decay. Places like this weren’t new to me, but that didn’t make it any less infuriating. They framed me, accusing me of a crime I didn’t even commit. If I’d known things would end up like this, I wouldn’t have stopped with just slapping Giselle. I clenched my teeth, forcing myself to calm down. Since they threw me in here, they’d only given me one glass of water. I had no idea how long I’d been locked away. This dungeon was a death trap, meant for criminals they wanted to dispose of quietly. I cursed under my breath. “Fairness, my ass. Prove my innocence? What a joke,” I muttered bitterly. Frustration built in my chest as I stood and approa

Chapter 58: Mysterious Woman Selina's POV I was abruptly awakened by the sound of what seemed like a stone wall opening. I quickly glanced around, and sure enough, there it was. A secret passage right near me. I had no idea where it led, but my curiosity got the better of me. I stood up and approached it cautiously, my hand brushing against the wall as I surveyed my surroundings. Why did this open? Was there always something like this here? I couldn’t help but wonder. I took a deep breath and peered inside. It was dark, and it looked eerie. Should I go in? Maybe I should. I took a step forward, carefully feeling the wall to avoid bumping into anything. “Is this the right thing to do? What if I get lost in this dungeon?” I muttered to myself. I continued walking, and soon enough, I saw a light in the distance. It didn’t seem like I’d be lost after all. I quickened my pace. When I reached the light, I realized I was inside a larger cell, surrounded by torches. I looked around.

Chapter 59: Poison Selina's POV A muffled scream escaped my lips as I struggled to free myself from the grip of the knights holding my arms. Damn it! What are they planning to do with me? "Is this really the right thing to do, Mom? What if Reagan comes back?" I overheard Giselle said. "You're too soft, Giselle. You'll get nothing by showing kindness," Charlotte replied coldly. "But--" "No more buts. Reagan isn't coming back," Charlotte said firmly, her eyes shifting toward me. My jaw clenched in fury. "This is just tea. She's overreacting," Charlotte added as she walked closer to me. Tea? Tea inside a prison? Who does she think she's fooling? A sly smile curled on her lips as she positioned herself directly in front of me. "Hold her tightly," she ordered the knights. They quickly obeyed, their grip on me tightening. My hands throbbed from the struggle, my body aching. Damn it! Giselle stepped closer, "Let me handle it, Mom," she said with a grin, clearly enjoying my discomf

Chapter 60: Explanation Reagan's POV "Are you sure we’ll find her here? We’ve been searching for seven days now," Adrian said, slumping onto the couch and casually resting his feet on the table. I shot him a sharp glare, grabbing the nearest object and hurling it at him. "This isn’t your room, Adrian. Act appropriately," I warned. He nervously chuckled and quickly sat upright. "Sorry," he muttered, scratching the back of his neck. "But seriously, Reagan. I know how important this is to you, but we need to go back. The kingdom needs you," he insisted. I knew he was right. The kingdom always came first. But I had to do this. It was now or never. If I couldn’t find him here, the chances of finding him at all were slim to none. "You’re right. Prepare everything; we’ll leave tomorrow," I finally relented, though my resolve remained unshaken. I turned back to the documents I was poring over, my frustration mounting with every second that passed. Where was he? When would he reveal him

It felt as if I had been here before—perhaps three months ago.Maybe this place is connected to my cultivation. I brushed off the thought and shifted my gaze to Celine, the so-called Moon Goddess. She even chose a name similar to mine. If Giselle is the mastermind of all this, I will never forgive her.I looked around, searching for the twins or anyone who could tell me where the children were. Why did everything have to come to this? Why do my children have to suffer because of their anger and jealousy? I left him, didn’t I? I gave them what they wanted. What more do I have to do? I stopped walking and took a deep breath. But strangely, there was no hint of regret in my heart.I looked at Reagan again. He slept so peacefully. But please, I don’t believe that there’s no trace of love left for me in your heart," he said, his voice filled with sorrow.I pressed my lips together tightly, turning my head to avoid his gaze. Honest with myself? Yes, he was right, I still loved him. But what good would my love do? Nothing. He only caused me pain, never returning the love I gave. Was I wrong to be cautious with him now?
