The Last Denmarks

The day after was the weirdest day for Alora. Waking up and seeing all the people the Red Blood pack has labeled as “Rebels” at the foot of her bed, she felt like a criminal standing in front of the decision council.

“She’s awake!” – Norton said, poking Asher on the waist

Asher shushed Norton. Harper and Damon whispered to each other’s ears and then Harper excused herself from the scene. In her mind, Alora’s still an enemy. An enemy who doesn’t deserve this much attention from everyone.

“Alora…”

Asher moved to stand at the side of her bed. She held out her hand and Asher held it.

“I knew everything. Damon told us. You’re very, very brave. You risked your life for the good reasons.”

Alora smiled. Finally, after a long time of overthinking on howshe’ll fix the bond between her and her brother, they have made up. It’s funny that she still needs to have a brush with death before the two of them finally have peace.
