Rhea's POV It was early in the morning, the sun had risen and disappeared a hundred times now. Sitting at the edge of my bed I stare out of the window. My life seems empty like my glass of wine that was full a few minutes ago, my whole world is spinning around me. I am confused and broken. The absence of my wolf, the painful tragedy that suddenly befalls my late parents; I know that things could be a little easier assuming my parents were still alive. Tears roll down my cheeks as I stare out from the window, looking at the drops of water falling from the sky on how they suddenly vanish into the moist soil. I wish that my pain could easily go away like that. In my mind, I kept wishing that I could skip some years and fast forward to when it gets better but as usual the reality is there to stare you in the face reminding you of your hidden pains. What Lila said flashed through my mind, she wanted us to work things together for the betterment of the pack when she couldn't resi
Rhea's POV The garden was well-trimmed and the bushes around the pack were well taken care of. The pack members have all been one hell of busy today concerning the big dinner party tomorrow, the omegas were cleaning and running around though I made it mandatory that everyone should participate in the cleaning. After all, it is for everyone's betterment. Despite how weak and weary I felt inside, I couldn't see myself backing away. How will they see me if I can't carry out this simple assignment, especially Kian? And chickening out will allow those rascals to make the gist of me. Well, Fiona has been carrying out her duty, anyway I think that I get to say that because after the morning meeting, we haven't bumped into each other and I like it that way. Everybody should just focus on whatever they are doing. However, instead of having Lila following me up and down I then send her to the kitchen at least to keep an eye on the food and help me supervise the cooking since I am ove
Rhea's POV Anger flashes through my eyes as I watch the door open and Lila majestically walks in. I couldn't help myself holding back the next word that angrily flew out from my lips, "What are you doing here?" She stops, shrugging her shoulders before staring at me, "Of course, you sent me here to supervise or have you suddenly forgotten my dear Luna," she sarcastically smiled with a raised brow. I could feel the rage within me bumping fast at her sarcastic words. I respect her as my beta but I believe that she doesn't want me to throw my cool. "I sent you, right," I pressed my lips firmly together with my cold eye resting on her, "I sent you to supervise here and this whole place was in a mess!" Lila glazed around nonchalantly before returning her gaze to me," Here is not that bad and you don't expect me to tell full grown-ups what and what to do," I started hearing murmurings from the omegas but under my sharp gaze, they all suddenly went quiet. "So here looks nic
Rhea's POV The night stretches so fast, sitting in front of my window with a glass of wine in my hands I stared out to the sky. For some odd feelings, I feel so excited about tomorrow and so eager to see the morning sun. I specifically choose those foods because of one person in my mind, King Daemon. I was still in my thoughts when the door to my room was suddenly smashed open against the wall, jerking up and turning around to look at the intruder. My heart flips up fearfully at the man standing in front of me, Kian, my husband. I wonder what could have inflicted him this much. Kian is fuming furiously, his chest going up and down in anger, causing fear and panic to overwhelm me. "K... K... i an," the words stammered against my lips. I swallowed hard as I noticed his face darkened, he stepped forward, taking a few conscious steps toward me. My grip tightened around the glass of wine in my hand as I tried to remain rooted to my spot. Stopping in front of me he instantl
Rhea's POV Tears slowly started trailing down my cheeks, everything was happening in a swift of emotion as I felt him pulling me toward the direction of the kitchen. Thank goodness nobody could be seen in the hallway but approaching the passage that leads to the kitchen I started hearing murmurings showing that they were still in there. Fear and panic gripped me, where is he taking me to? I looked terrified, holding the embankment with everything in me. I refused to make a move, provoking Kian to hysterically snapped his fierce eye at me. "What made you stop?" Stepping forward, he grabbed hold of my chin roughly in his palms. "Why are you taking me to that kitchen?" I asked, and suddenly shivered in fear as he spared a quick glance at the entrance of the kitchen with a deadly smile on his lips. "Dear wife, don't annoy me and get your damn ass up," he tried to sound calm but his voice was icy with a hint of provocation. "Why am I following you to the kitchen?" "That's
Rhea's POV Pain raced through my chest gripping my heart, how can he be a cold-blooded man? Wanting us to act like couples because of his selfish interest but I couldn't do anything, what can I even do? This is also for the pack's benefit. "Did I make myself clear?" His face clouded over, and I already noticed that he is visibly upset due to the color changes in his eyes. I gave him a rueful smile, "Yes, I have heard," I said with a smile on my face, but my heart was bleeding inside. "Good," he smirked deadly, his face darkening a bit before he distanced himself from me and stepped back. "I think it is time we go, dear wife," smiling sheepishly, he stretches out his right hand for me to hold onto. Swallowing the lump past my throat, I nervously grabbed hold of his hand. Smiling down at me, we walked out of the room to the dining ground. Reaching the door, Kian stopped and stared at me, "Put on a smile on that ugly face of yours," he spits in a disgruntled form. I nodded,
Rhea's POV I gasped, finding it hard to absorb what just happened right now, though oddly part of me feels excited over his concern but on the other hand I am left speechless and confused. Murmurings have started arising among the people in here, all eyes were focused on us. Obviously, this is not the way that I planned this event to unfold. "I asked again," I gulped hard at Daemon's deep voice, "Who did this to you?" Caught in a dilemma, I didn't know what to do or how to respond to the scary question of this ruthless king in front of me, so I peeked at Kian from the corner of my eye hoping for him to save me from this shocking situation. But as usual, he exuded a cold and distant aura, his sharp and ruthless gaze focused straight ahead. Staring directly at where Daemon had his hands resting on my neck. "Speak!" I flinch back at Daemon's outburst. Kian curled his palm in a fist before throwing his right hand over my shoulder and pulling me toward him. My heart kept thro
Rhea's POV "We can all dig in," Kian declared openly, the clicking of the cutleries against the plates can be heard. Daemon kept tapping his jaw when staring at me, not making any move to pick up the cutleries in front of him. I was still shadowed by my thoughts when suddenly the other Alphas spit out the foods immediately from their mouth while seeking water. My eyes flew open, Kian and I both exchanged a confused look and just then the people that had tested the food started spitting it out. This sudden action of theirs quickens my heartbeat, Kian stares at his food and then back at the Alphas. Holding his fork I watched him dig them into the food before having a bite from the grub. But before he could chew them, he instantly spat them out when snapping his head at me with anger flashing in his eye. With a palpitating heart and shaky hands, I picked up my fork and took a bite from my food. My expression changed sorely immediately the taste hit my mouth, churning my stoma
Rhea's POV "The death of your parents," I retort, unsure of what I just heard. "Yes, who doesn't know the enmity between Clawson pack and Blackwood Pack? And your father killed my parents after getting into a fight with him," he narrated, smirking deadly at me. "I planned to make you pay tenfold for the pains I went through all these years but unfortunately I fall for you," I shook my head at him, and for once after the months tears slid down my face. I can't believe that I have lived all my life back then loving this monster! The fight was between the two dead parents, what does it have to do with me and besides something must have triggered my father into killing his father. He instantly yank my head by the side, "He still hasn't marked her," he said. "So we still have a chance," "So what next?" He asked. "You decided, either you kill her or eloped with her," he nodded at her and turned to look at me. "I will prefer to end us," I lift my head to look at him. "I will
Daemon's POV "They.... took her away," "Do you know where they want to go?" He is already slipping away. "Where did they take her?!" I shook him, by gaze pleading for him to say a word. "The cave.... " "Yes, which of the caves?" "The cave..." "Oh! Shit… Come one," I heard Sam curse under his breath. "Look we are here to save Luna Rhea so tell us which cave did you hear them say?" Wilfred said to him as he shook his shoulders. "The... waterfall," his head tilted instantly to the other side and I knew that he was gone. "Waterfall," I murmured, sounding confused. The guards exchanged a confused look, "Waterfall," Wilfred repeated the word. "Wait...!" We all turned to face Sam, "I think I understand what he is saying," he mumbled. "I think he means the hidden cave beside the waterfall," "Cabe beside the waterfall," my face caressed in confusion, "Which waterfall?" "The one you know," he let out. "We only have one waterfall," "Yes, that's it," Sam nodded
Rhea's POV We all screamed the last word and instantly transformed into our wolves rushing toward the rogues, the fight began and howls and cries were heard. Despite being just five our fighting skills are impressive though we can never outnumber them, the more we kill the more another set of rogues crawl out from the trees around there. I jumped on the nearest rogue beside me and quickly pulled out his heart while biting off the other rogue with my sharp teeth. The fight lasted for a while and nobody from the pack arrived. My warriors are getting weak, I watched in horror as the rogues were pulling out their hearts and killing them all in that spot. It was just the remaining two and they rushed to my side, "What should we do? These rogues are much," I gulped when looking at the other rogues, despite having killed some but those remaining were still much. "Not giving up," I said to them as we all rushed back to the fight. The warriors are already tired and it wasn't tha
Rhea's POV "You must have put a lot of effort into making this," I said to him. He reached for the wine and poured it into our glasses. "Anything for you," he winked when taking a sip from his glass. "Never pictured you as a romantic type," I chuckled, "Yeah you are right I am not a romantic type," we both laughed. After that we never talked and continued with the food, I can feel the tension building up within us. I kept stealing glances from each other, I wanted to move toward his side and into him but I feel so glued to my spot to even move up. After lunch, we joked and played around for a while. We were having so much fun when suddenly the weather changed, signaling that it was going to rain. So Daemon decided that we head back to the pack, I wasn't all that happy but he was right we have nowhere to clash if it started raining so I followed him. Once we reached the pack I walked back to the room, I guess it is now our room. I was about to close the door when suddenly it
Rhea's POV Realization dawned on me as I continued to stare in that direction that I once saw him, so we weren't mates after all and he lied to me. But he gave me a mark, "That wasn't a real mark though I am glad that I have finally reconnected with you," I have a lot on my mind that I paid less attention to her words, Daemon stepped forward and touched my fur. I felt sparks shot through my whole body, so he has always been my mate all this while. I watched Eleanor lean into his touch as he pats her head and kisses her face. He was rubbing my furs and back, trying to calm me a bit down... He sure knows what I need right now. The moon slowly went back and I transformed back to my human form. Daemon held me before I could make it to the ground. I think I will get used to transforming back from human to wolf. Going around naked is nothing to werewolves though Daemon shades my naked body away from people seeing it. I suddenly went shy under his lustful stares. He pulled out h
Rhea's POV But the feeling inside me was restless, my heart feels so heavy and I know the only thing to stop it is fresh air, and inside here were all locked up. Breeze is not coming from anywhere, the room is so dark that you can hardly see anything. I think that I need to open the window or create a hole for the breeze to enter. If not I will suffocate in here. My whole body was heating up and it felt like I was trapped inside a burning flame. Managing to place my palms on the bed, I crawled out and started looking for the window. Pushing some objects alone to the floor and my toes hit some hard objects but the pain inside me was so much that I didn't even notice that I hit my leg on anything. I started taking it slowly till I found the window, I pulled on it but it was locked up. I groaned in annoyance, what do I do... What should I do? Ahh!! The pain was getting too much, so I rushed toward the door banging loudly on it. My bones felt like it was on fire, I cried out an
Daemon's POV Once I was done with whatever I was doing in the office, I stride back to my cabin. It was already night and last as well. I am sure that Rhea would have gone to bed. Reaching the front of my cabin, I noticed the guards that I have assigned her standing fit at the door, on seeing me they were all both submissively. I pushed the door and entered inside but to my utmost surprise, Rhea was not on the bed. This is late. She should be in bed sleeping. "Mate!" I called out thinking that she might just be in the latrine but got no response. I got worried and walked toward the latrine, I pushed the door open and noticed that she wasn't there. I went to the closet and she was not there either. I panicked, where could she be by this time of the night? But her guards are out there which means that she might be here somewhere... But where? I spun around to scan the room and suddenly I felt the cold wind hit my face, it was chilling outside and the window was open. Wait!
Mercy's POV "What do you mean?" Kian asked her, "She will have to take the medication **Sleeping portion** for her wolf before the moon comes out if not the wolf can not be tamed," I gasped, holding my mouth from making any silky sound. So Miss. Bela has been the witch all this while. So she knew about Luna Rhea and had been helping Kian trap it down. This is pure wickedness! "No, I don't want it tamed," "Then what?" She raised a brow at him, "Just kill the goddamn wolf and live her wolfless," "Okay but it is risky, she might die," my heart pondered fast at their conversation. "Do anything but don't let her die," she nodded at him, "One more thing... be fast," he turned around and walked away. I hid behind the pillar as she turned around and scanned the place before entering the kitchen. I slowly tiptoed close to the kitchen and squatted in a way that she couldn't see me before crawling quietly inside. I went close to the nearest down cabinet that was left open and
Mercy's POV I was in the kitchen helping out when the other omegas rushed inside giggling, sounding all excited. Others like me were curious as to why the sudden excitement. This period has been one hell of a thing, no going or entering the pack and at the same time torturing and starving everyone to death just to get Luna Rhea's attention. We all know how she cherishes the pack though I always hope that she doesn't come back here but the news the omegas dropped had my heart flipped up, "She is back," "Who is back?" Someone asked. "Luna Rhea is back!" I instantly froze on my spot, "Our days of suffering are over!!" My mind was no longer in their conversation, how could Daemon allow Luna Rhea to come back? I thought that they were mates and he was supposed to care for her. Yes, I didn't get to tell him about the information that I heard between Sheila and Alpha Kian because he suddenly placed a strict rule that the guards shouldn't grant an exit for any single soul in the p
