Chapter 80

Amelia sat in the chair with her baby on her lap. It was the burial of Mrs. Smith and everyone was in black.

Mrs Smith was a light to everyone who had met her and Amelia was no different. Being there, she tried to act calm but deep down, she couldn't help but feel unworthy. She was the cause of her death after all.

"May her soul go in light and find peace wherever it settles" the priest told them.

Amelia watched as he sprinkled water on the casket and gave them a signal to lower it down.

She noticed her different humans buried their dead from werewolves.

Werewolves always set theirs on fire. She had seen them set her father and mother ablaze after being burnt.

"Is there anything I can do?" She said to Mr Smith, hoping he could send her on an errand. Maybe that would ease her pain.

Mr Smith shook his head. He said he had nothing in mind and needed rest.

"I feel tired".

It was so sad to see the bubbly man become a shadow of himself. Her chest tightened.
