Sandra smiled.

She walked away from the door, took a step closer and folded her arms when she got to where Amelia was standing.

"Didn't you notice this?" She smiled. "Didn't you see how I was trying to protect you?"

Amelia looked at her with disdain. She was panting already as her chest felt like it weighed a pup sitting on it.

"What do you mean, you tried to protect me?"

She kept her face straight. Maybe Sandra was making a little sense.

Sandra cleared her throat and began to talk.

"Haven't you ever wondered how the alpha picked you compared to me?"

She moved to Amelia's vanity mirror and sat there.

"I'm beautiful, kind, elegant, and from a noble home, here in his pack, while you are a wolf-less person, you have no family, and you are worth nothing. Ask yourself, why would he pick me?"

Amelia felt little by the words Sandra was saying to her but she could help but wonder.

Why had the alpha taken an interest in her?

It was not like she was much, why did he want her to be his?
