"Eloise must be in a lot of pain...."

Laylin admonished her selfishness as she recalled the hollow face Eloise sported when she'd seen her unconscious. Seeing her like that was like a knife to her heart.

On the table in front of her was the summons from the court for the hearing tomorrow. The charges were of attempted murder and trespassing in the Palace, both if proven, were punishable by death.

All the current evidence and instances point to Laylin and her servant as criminals by law. If she went to court and the trial took place, a death sentence was confirmed. Considering her royal lineage, they might reduce it to a lifetime of house arrest but all her servants would be slaughtered.

It didn’t matter how much she tried to veer away from making a deal with him, she always ended up with the same answer. And that was to accept the King’s offer.

Her jaw clenched at the thought, remembering the way the King gazed at her with rampant lust, making her feel so appalled and ashamed of e

The King sat back on the sofa across from her. He was ridiculously relaxed for someone who was suffocating her while pretending he was willing to give her space. She was forced into a corner, he wasn't allowing her more time to gather her thoughts much less come up with an alternative. Fidgeting with her fingers, she sighed before finally breaking the ice. “An abandoned Princess of an insignificant Kingdom was never a threat to your authority, my King.” she began softly, head held up as she avoided his gaze. Ambrose snorted at how conceited she was to assume otherwise. She wasn't a threat to him. She was his weakness. A human mate. To humor her, he tilted his head at her inquiringly. “I'm surprised you realized just now.” “You are a beast-born and I'm a mere human. I was thrown in that room to be mauled by you and I barely escaped within an inch of my life.” she boldly pointed out, “If you were to risk that all for a slight fancy with a lesser woman, your reputation would be de

'My father is screwed.' That was her last thought when she fell unconscious. 'He shouldn't have cornered me like this. Serves him right.' When Laylin awoke from her sleep, her instant thought was to curse herself for falling asleep. She had been awake when he had probed her before leaving the bed. Also when he had laid his dirty paws on her and smudged his saliva on her (kissed her) before leaving. She pretended to sleep, she was too mortified to do anything or even meet his eyes after last night. He had probably known but left quietly anyway. She winced when the sunlight burned her eyes and then she smirked before bubbling laugh left her bruised lips. "Ha... haha! Sucks to be him." Her father will fume once he hears. Oh, what a sight it will be! Her body was sore but a sick satisfaction settled in her heart. She carefully sat up on the bed. She was ruined. Her life was over. She was the King's whore. In times like these, she desperately wished her mother had returned to Sarang T

With the door to the bathroom open the temperature rose several degrees and it wasn't freezing cold out of the room anymore. Getting off the table, she looked through his stuff and found an intricately sculpted glass swan. Mesmerized, she stared at the piece before pushing it off in a rage. ‘CRASH’ The cries of the marvelous piece were exasperatingly mournful. Standing close to it with her chin up in the air she waited for someone to barge in so she could vent but nobody did even after several seconds passed. Tears brimmed in her eyes. It infuriated her even more. She wanted to shout, tear her hair out thinking about the horrible, shameless things people will be saying about her right now. She raised her hand and released her aura. One after another she dropped everything that she could lay her eyes on. With a furious ache, she trashed his beloved room. After a while, she was sobbing on the cold hard floor with everything in the King’s chamber trashed. The once glorious place was

It was physically hurt her to not use her aura on him to get her revenge but looking at him leaving, alarmed her. She was quick on her feet as she ran behind him barefoot. “Where is Eloise?” She called out to him desperately, grabbing his arm “Eloise… that servant?” She held her breath as he craned his head with a taunting smirk. “That’s an interesting question. Let’s see… she’s out of our hair, for sure.” Her breath hitched. Out of hair? What does that mean, was she perhaps dead?! “You- You promised!” She exclaimed, barely holding her tears in. “Do you have no blood or tears left?!” He turned around and his cold eyes skimmed over her messy but neat appearance. She was just as delectable as she was the night before. Her enchanting blue eyes seduced him

She had tried to leave but the guards stationed outside were persistent in keeping her here per the King’s order. She didn’t cause a ruckus as it would reduce her chances of seeing Eloise one last time. Every one of them left one after another as she relaxed her posture but a voice alerted her. “Princess.” Curiously, Laylin turned her head at the familiar voice, lifting her head and crumbling her dress under the table. Her eyes widened and her hands shook as she recognized the person very well. “Princess Laylin.” Agatha deeply bowed, before sinking to her knees in front of her. She extended her hand and Laylin's eyes fell on the gleaming famili

But shock registered when they met the eyes of the person standing where the wall once stood. “I see. Though I don’t really like the man, I certainly despise him less than your mother does. I’m not much of a success as a Red Witch so I have no such obsession with bloodlines or species. I just care for my family.” Laylin bit her bottom lip, shrugging. “Mother is... She will come around.” “Hmm, hope so. But I see... you look madly in love.” Berilla teased, looking at her distracted expression. "It must hurt your pride to love him more than he loves you." “What? I just set my grace on my eager lover.“ She was flexing when both of them knew, Laylin was crazy enough in love to dive head-first in a war zone or in front of a raging monster. Laylin looked away. The monster's movements slow, and it gradually, in a fraction of a second, evaporated in the air. It became quiet and all the witches huffed in disbelief, as if under a spell. “Good work.” Laylin turned to the witches with a smile. “This is how any witch, weak or strong, can make the teleportation magic circle.” She clapped her hands, “Well, nobody’s dead, so let’s go under the lake.” It may sound twisted but she enjoyed their fear especially Valerie who was pale. She felt gleefully satisfied. Now, sure, no one will question her about the potency of her magic circle. She felt bad for Eloise but it couldn’t be helped, she was the weakest witch and thus the perfect person to show them the spell worked. Seizing

Laylin remained still. Her countenance was quite ample as she looked ahead at the lake in front of her.Ultimately it didn’t matter if Laylin could or couldn’t. She will have to. For the sake of everyone. For the future.Valerie sighed, “We can do it ourselves too.” Laylin knew it too.The witches could very well pull off a teleportation spell but they didn’t trust her or the magic circle she had drawn especially after Aunt Berilla couldn’t perform the designation spell. I don’t want a commotion.” She was so calm that it was creepy. Her lazy eyes fell on the Dark Wizard and she smirked. The Dark Wizard tried to cast a spell but nothing worked, he couldn’t take anything as the source. The Dark Wizard had little to no aura or couldn’t control their auras like Valerie. There are two sources for using magic. One is auras that are taken from nature and one is life sources. Dark magicians fuel their magic with life forces which means they kill to do magic. But it doesn’t have to be beasts or humans, depending on the magnitude of the spell even insects can be used for simple spells. She had protected every living being with her aura in the perimeter. Her snake rubbed its head against her neck, and she caressed its scales with a smirk. She enjoyed the Dark wizard's desperate attempts
