Chapter Forty Six

As I paced back and forth in the meeting room, my mind was fraught with thoughts concerning the impending meeting with the council. I knew they were going to criticise me relentlessly for leaving the pack without informing them first. But what else could I have done?

The situation demanded urgency, and I had to act swiftly. Also, I knew very well that if I had told them I wanted to visit the Silver Dawn pack, they would have never agreed, and I'd still have had to leave on my own without informing them.

Regardless of anything, I still couldn't shake off the feeling that they were plotting something against me. I have always been aware that they didn't like me as their King because they, like many others, believed that my insistence on changing certain things was an act of disrespect.
