Willow POV

"What do you mean he is far from sated?" I ask as my voice quivers.

"King will not be satisfied until you are writhing beneath me," Osiris growls. "But tonight, he will settle for just your satisfaction and a little taste."

"I don't understand..." My voice trails off.

"Close your eyes, Willow." My name is nothing more than a whisper on his breath. I snap my eyes closed at his quiet command and hear him chuckle. "Good girl," he says, and I feel the bed dip beside me.

Good girl? I think to myself. I would have never allowed anyone to call me anything of the sort in the past. It would imply I am under someone else's command. But the words sound damn good on his lips.

"Hands up," he issues another command.

Keeping my eyes closed tight, I hold my arms above my head. Fear runs through my veins as Osiris takes my hands in his. His fingers trace along the seams of my gloves, but he doesn't try to remove them. He pins my wrists above my head and holds me in place.

Willow POV I open my eyes and look around at my new surroundings. I know this office. It belongs to the Lycan King. Faris is sitting behind his desk, and Osiris is standing near the doorway. I was here that day. I turn my attention to the door of Faris's office and see myself struggling with the doorknob. This was the day that I met Osiris for the first time. I shake my head at how embarrassing I was that day. It is no wonder that Faris was in such a hurry to get rid of me. Both Faris and Osiris watch me in silence as I struggle with the door. Faris has an annoyed look on his face, but Osiris is staring at me with amusement. Finally, the other me opens the door, and I watch as I escape from the office. Turning my attention back to the two men left in the room, I watch as they look at one another in uncomfortable silence. "I thought we agreed not to meddle in one another's business," Osiris finally breaks the silence between them. "I don't have the faintest idea what you are talki

Osiris POV The drive to Petra's cottage is quiet. Willow fidgets awkwardly in her seat as we take the winding roads that lead up the mountain. I have never seen her so flustered. Normally, she is calm and composed, with a steady head on her shoulders. But today, she seems nervous and excitable. Whatever happened during her last episode seems to have changed her. She is now wearing fingerless gloves and touching me on the arm and the shoulder. She is laughing at my jokes rather than rolling her eyes at me and flirting. I think my mate is flirting with me. I turn down the small gravel lane that leads to the cottage. My small sports car hits every bump on the lane, and I glance over to see Willow's gloved hands digging into the leather of my seats. "You aren't taking me out to the middle of nowhere to kill me, are you?" Willow chuckles nervously. "I promised you that my wolf never hurt you," I answer her, but she does not look convinced. "I know King would never hurt me, b

Willow POV When we pull up to the cottage, something emerges in the back of my mind. It is like an itch that I am unable to scratch. It is almost as if a memory is trying to surface from the depths of my mind, but it is trapped. As I sit in the car and looked at the cottage, I can't help but feel like I had been here before. It isn't until I see the woman sitting on the front porch with knitting needles in her hands that a memory floods into my mind. I couldn't have been more than four years old. It was before I was sent to live with the Princess. I was sitting on the lap of an old woman with dark hair in a long braid. Her hands overlapped mine as I held a pair of oversized knitting needles in mine. Silently, she showed me how to loop the yarn around the needles to create the stitches. Before I can recall more of the memory, I get a splitting headache. Closing my eyes, I rub my temples roughly until the pain in my head subsides. When I reopen my eyes, I notice Osiris is already out

Willow POV Standing on the cottage's front porch, I look longingly at the gravel lane that leads down the mountain. I sigh. I really don't want to walk back to the rogue colony. Not to mention, I don't think I know the way back. I wasn't paying attention on the way here. I look back at Petra, trying to decide what I am supposed to do. She is standing in her doorway with a curious look on her face. She is waiting for me to make my decision. "Do you think he will come back for me?" I ask Petra nervously. "He will be back," Petra says as her eyes flash a startling color of blue. "He just needs some time to cool off." "I don't understand what I did wrong," I say as I sit down on the porch swing. "I cannot control my powers. As soon as I touch someone with the palms of my hands, I am transported into a memory. At least, I think that they are memories." Petra listens to me carefully and nods her head up and down. I don't know why I am opening up to this woman. I don't

King Faris POV The phone rings over and over again before it cuts off. Once again, Natacha avoids another phone call from me. I am afraid I will have to visit her shitty apartment in order to hunt her down. I slam the phone down on my desk and turn my attention back to the computer screen in front of me. Pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration, I glare at the computer screen. I am running through the City's numbers, and we are short tens of thousands of dollars for the month. Ever since Natacha went missing after our last phone call, we have not been able to intercept Chow shipments from the rogue colony. We cannot secretly make up enough to make up the difference we are missing. Chad is sitting with his feet propped up on my desk with a shit-eating grin on his face. He is tossing cheese puffs in the air and catching them with his mouth. He has no respect for the fact that he is in the presence of the Lycan King, and it makes me miss Ward. Willow POV Curled up in a comfortable chair in the farmhouse, I continue my knitting project. I have decided to make a blanket for Osiris’s bed. It will be a surprise for him. I don't know when his birthday is, but I have decided to treat him like my mate. Which means I don't need a reason to surprise him with a gift. The farmhouse is quiet today. The only sound that fills the room is the clicking of my knitting needles together while I hum to myself. I know that I am supposed to be out mingling with the members of the rogue colony, but I am not comfortable putting myself out there yet. ‘I don't know why you are fighting role within this colony,’ the annoying voice inside my head chimes in. ‘You are meant to be their Luna.’ Glancing around the room, I make sure no one is around before I respond. “I wish you would stop talking to me,” I whisper. “I am beginning to feel crazy.” ‘You aren't crazy,’ the voice tells me for the hundredth time. ‘But there is something that we

Willow POV Osiris pulls up to my little cottage, and I see a small light flickering in the window. I let out a sigh of relief. My mother said she would single with a candle if she managed to come alone. Osiris parks the car and opens his door. "Wait," I call out to him. "You can't come." "That wasn't part of the deal," Osiris says as he crosses his arms over his chest. "I am coming inside to protect you." "I don't need protection from my mother," I groan. "How do you know that Faris isn't in there?" Osiris growls. "I just found you. I won't lose you." Osiris walks around the car and opens my door. He is clearly not taking no for an answer. I steady my breaths and prepare myself for my mother to meet my mate. I walk toward my home, and I cannot help but feel a series of different emotions. Knowing that Osiris wants to be by my side, my heart is full, but I am also nervous. I don't know how my mother will react, knowing I am mated to a rogue. Not just any rogue but the Rogue Alpha

Willow POV After kissing and hugging my mother and my grandmother goodbye, I stand on the front porch of my cottage while I watch them leave. They both walk around to the back of my house and shift. My mother into her extraordinary lycan and my grandmother into her silver wolf. I watch as they run off into the distance back to Lycan City. The scent of sandalwood dances around me, and I know Osiris has left the car and is standing beside me. "I want to grab a few things," I say without turning to look at him. "Did you get the answers that you were looking for?" Osiris asks. "Mmhmm," I mumble as I turn back into my cottage. I walk past all the rooms and make my way back to my bedroom in the far corner of the house. Standing inside the bedroom, I try not to think about the implications of what I was told tonight and what Petra told me. We didn't get a chance to read Osiris's tea leaves, so I have no idea if he will lead me into the light or the darkness. Without knowing my path,

Willow POV Faris's body floats to the middle of Lycan City Lake, just like his father before him and his grandfather before that. Horns play loudly, signifying the beginning of the lighting ceremony. I watch from a distance as the leader of the Royal Guard raises his hand in the air, and three archers light the tips of their arrows with flames. The leader lowers his hand, and the arrows fly into the air before hitting their mark. As Faris's body is engulfed in flames, I find myself shedding a tear. Willow POV As I watch Endora’s ashes fly away, the runes on my back begin to burn. It feels like someone has poured salt on an open wound. I drop to my knees and claw at my skin through my shirt. My mother and Cordelia rush to my side, ripping my shirt off my body. I look at the runes on my arms, and they are glowing bright red. “What is happening?” I cry out in pain. “Since Endora has been killed, your link to the Coven of the Lunar Star is broken,” Cordelia tries to smile even though I am in pain. “The magical bindings they put on your skin are breaking down.” “They are disappearing?” I ask as I attempt to get to my feet, but my knees buckle under my weight. Exhaustion has finally caught up with me. Wincing through the pain, I look at Faris lying beside me. His face looks peaceful like he is sleeping. I look around me, and all of the fighting has stopped. Faris’s Royal guards must have felt this tether to the pack break when he died. Now they are all on bended knee

Willow POV My two-hour training session turned into five hours. By the time Cordelia is done with me, my arms feel like jello. My feet drag as I walk from the training area back to the farmhouse. I am exhausted, and I cannot wait to crawl into bed for a few hours before Osiris wakes me. As I approach the farmhouse, my heart sinks. A group of rogue warriors is already gathered outside of the farmhouse. Osiris is standing on the porch giving them a speech. When he sees me, he raises his hand and gestures for me to join him. Mumbling obscenities under my breath as I approach Osiris, I realize I am not getting my nap. Plastering a fake smile on my face, I stand beside Osiris. Osiris wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close to him. My fake smile turns into a real one as I feel the tingles of the mate bond spread throughout my skin. Osiris's shoulders relax as I nuzzle into his side. He wraps his arm tightly around my waist and continues his speech. "We were att

Faris POV I leave Natacha sleeping in my bed. Her new mark shimmers under the morning light shining into the room. I had expected her mark to match the one I had given Kayla, but it is different. A beautiful rose blooming under a full moon now resides on her neck. Natacha had been more than willing to accept my mark. The lovemaking between us had been patient and gentle. I was worried about hurting the pup that grows within her. But when it came time for Natacha to mark me in return, I couldn't let it happen. It felt too much like I was replacing Kayla. Natacha pretended she understood, but I could feel her pain through the bond between us. She was disappointed. Pulling on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, I head into the office that adjoins my bedroom. Sitting down at my desk, I begin to make plans on when and how to attack the rogue camp. But my heart isn't in it. Now that I know I have an heir, nothing else seems to matter. It all feels petty. "Why shouldn't I let

Willow POV After much negotiation with the doctor, he finally agrees to let me leave the hospital. The wound on my neck is almost healed. I have not been brave enough to look at it. I don't want to see the damage that Osiris has done to me. After taking a shower in the tiny hospital bathroom, I open the bag of clothes that Osiris brought me from the farmhouse. I roll my eyes when I see a pair of bright red lace panties and a matching bra. Sticking my head out of the bathroom, I hiss at Osiris. "You couldn't have brought something more comfortable?" There is a mischievous grin on his face. "They looked comfortable to me," he chuckles. I shut the door in frustration, and I begin to pull on the leather pants and black t-shirt. I pull my hair up into a ponytail and walk back out into the hospital room. But there is no one in there. I peek out of my hospital room and see nurses and doctors frantically running toward the entrance of the hospital. I can hear the sounds of

Faris POV It is the wee hours of the morning when I finally return to the royal mansion, but the mansion is already buzzing with activity. I quietly slip past all of the Omegas who have already started their morning chores. I go upstairs and past the room that Natacha is staying in. Her scent of lavender and roses is wafting through the door. She barely smells like a rogue anymore, and I wonder if it is because she is carrying my child. Slowly, I turn the doorknob, and I am surprised to find it is unlocked. The door opens with a slight creek, causing me to cringe. I consider walking away, but curiosity draws me further into her room. Natacha is sleeping peacefully. I have to admit she is beautiful. Not as beautiful as my Kayla, but still beautiful nonetheless. Tiny puffs of breath leave her full lips as she sleeps. She is sleeping in an oversized t-shirt. A smile crosses my lips when I realize the t-shirt is one I had left behind at her apartment. The t-shirt has ridd

I am unsteady on my feet as the world comes back into focus. "I don't think I will ever get used to that," I grumble as I choke back the vomit rising in my throat. "You will get used to it over time," Ella says as she gently rubs my back. I shrug off Ella's hand and turn to the four witches. "We don't have time to lose," I say. "We need to get to Willow." Once I have regained my balance, I head into the hospital with the witches following behind me. As we walk through the halls, people scatter away from me and the women walking with me. Whispers follow us through the corridors. Many of my pack members have not seen so many witches together in one place, and their eyes follow us as we make our way to Willow's hospital room. Faris POV Natacha follows me into the royal mansion, keeping her head down. As we walk through the mansion, I can hear the whispers coming from the Omega servants. They are wondering why I have willingly brought a rogue into Lycan City. My personal Omega, Jessica, is leaving my bedroom when I reach the top floor of the royal mansion. Her face blushes deeply when she looks at me but quickly disappears when she lays eyes on Natacha. Jessica's nose wrinkles as she catches Natacha's rogue scent, and a scowl tugs at her lips. "How can I help you, Your Highness?" Jessica says with a fake smile spread across her face. "This is my close friend, Natacha. I need you to set her up in the room next to mine," I instruct Jessica. Osiris POV A headache is pulsating at the back of my skull as the doctor tells me the damage that Willow sustained to her neck when I tried to remark her. I know I should be listening to what he has to say, but the only thing I can hear is the steady beep of the machines coming from her room. To me, those are the only sounds that matter because they are the only indication that she is still alive. My eyes wander past the doctor to the room filled with Willow's family. Her adopted father, mother, and grandmother are all surrounding her. They are all wearing identical faces of worry, and it is all my fault. I couldn't have known what would happen when I tried to remark her, but I should have known we got away too easily. I should have known that the witches had something more sinister in store. Guilt fills my brain as I think about what I have done. My mate is fighting for her life because I was determined to make her mine again. "Alpha?" The doctor interrupts my thoughts.
