EVA'S POV

Were my eyes deceiving me? Did I just with my own blood and sweat secure the healer's place in this castle?

I watched the face of everyone change from disappointment to admiration. I clenched my fist seeing the birds I planned to kill with one stone survive.

Hector was restored and well and Cameryn, was here to stay. I was going to slip away just as Dimitri went to talk to Cameryn.

I heard him beg for her forgiveness. Which was rare of Dimitri to do and she gave a witty reply to his apology. They were acting like love birds. It was so blatant that I had to turn to Milana to see if she was seeing the same thing I was seeing.

Milana as always looked nonchalant. She was secure in that foolish belief that the universe would always align in her favour.

I couldn't watch any more of this. I barely took a step when Hector's accusing tone tore at me.

"It was you, wasn't it?" He yelled, yanking his hands through the space in the cage as if hoping that it would reach me.
