LIA BLAKE
Phew! I drew in a quick breath. I was standing at the cliff of a mountain. The air was light and as it brushed against my skin, it caressed my pores and left me feeling refreshed. That moment, I got a chance to not feel miserable. How sad must my wolf have felt. We just thought…just maybe Carlos and I will ever get a chance to be together. I beat my chest and bit my lips suddenly feeling a surge of determination. Yes, it was just a crush. I have to be brave now. For myself and for my wolf and brush this lurking sadness off me. I gulped thickly as I felt my tears choke down my throat. Yes, this was the best thing I should do for myself. The thought of seeing Carlos gallivant the entire pack with his mate was just a lot for me to handle. Yes, call me jealous, but it hurts me everyday. Maybe someday the moon goddess will be kind enough to give me my own mate. If she is even kinder and listens to Jimmy's prayers, she would make him the best man in the whole wide world. My wolf purred inside of me. A slow whine. Poor thing. She must have been more tormented than I am. I am already eighteen and without a mate for her. My crush, whom I had hoped would be my mate, found his mate and I was abandoned like I meant nothing to him. And here I am, in a totally different pack ready or maybe not really ready to start all over again. I would probably get into college or start a business. Whatever I do doesn't matter much as far as I am away from Carlos. Here, where I wouldn't have to bump into my ex-crush and his mate ever again. Here where they wouldn't have to rub it in my face how mateless and unlucky I am. I inhaled deeply, feeling the effect of the breeze the more. I have only heard a little about this new pack I packed in. I have heard father mention of it, the major pack of the four packs where the ruthless Lycan King lives, Harrow wood pack. Father told me a few werewolves lived here but it was mostly the Lycans that dwells here. The Lycans had always acted superior to the werewolves. And even though much of us werewolves hated the thought of it, there was very little we could do. That makes it the perfect place for me. No one knows me here. No one knows my father is the Alpha of Blood Moon pack and that's fine. All I wanted was a fresh start. Away from the face I have loved all my life. Away from my pain and hurt. I started down the mountain cliff. The loud rumbling of my stomach as I walked reminded me I was yet to eat something. I needed to stop by a diner and stuff the worms in my stomach with something delicious. Out of the woods and heading into the town, I sighted one of these simple dinners. My pace increased as much as the wriggling of the worms in me did. But as I made to step into the place, a large palm covered my mouth. I tried to scream but I was smacked hard on my head. Nothing else did I hear nor see until when I woke up to the sight of myself in a strange room. I tried to move my body but realized I was tied to the chair. "Who are you!!! Show yourself and don't be a coward!!" I yelled hoping to get the attention of my capture. I wriggled on the chair against the rope I was tied with but ended up clattering to the floor. My face jammed against the floor and a muffled groan escaped my lips. I clenched my teeth hard. Whoever was doing this must be trying to mess around with me. Suddenly I started to hear the sound of a shoe sole coming towards where I was. "Who are you?" I said freezing in my spot while mentally calculating the distance of this stranger from me. He made to lift me up but I sunk my teeth into his arms. He let out a sharp painful cry and flinched back. While he massaged the pain from my bite, another sound of shoes started towards me again. I couldn't see who it was but with the way the sound went, it had to be the heels of a ladies shoes this time. "Lift her up…" I heard her say. I was right. It really is a lady. The man I had bitten earlier lifted me up. I was still tied to my chair. My eyes roamed from the man and settled on the woman. She was pretty no doubt but how dare she kidnap me and bring me here? "Who are you and why have you brought me here?" I asked with a serious face. She didn't say a word, instead she kept sizing me up. After which she turned to the man and said, "What do you think? You think she can fit in?" "We don't need her to fit in. We only need her to be there until you are gone." The man with his thick accent answered. She nodded, "Well, yes, you are right, I only need her to be there until I am away…" she mumbled to herself still nodding. Then she turned to face me. "There will be no need for introductions. I hate to do this but I have to." I frowned, confused. "Do what?" She folded her arms across her chest and faced me squarely. "You will be me…well it would only be for a few hours until I'm gone. Derrick would find out anyway…" she said, murmuring the last part. Unfortunately I had an unnecessarily sharp ear. "I don't understand. Why will I let you be me?" I frowned. I mean, I know my life is already shityy enough at this moment but I would rather be me than be some random stranger I know nothing about. "And, Derrick, who is he?" "You will know soon. Get her dressed." She said to the man I believe to be her guard or maybe a servant who dipped his head in respect and at once came and began to untie me. "This is kidnapping! Let me go! Let me go right now!!" My struggle yielded nothing but instead I got my lips sealed with a rope and my arms tied behind me. And whatever scream I let out afterwards ended up in muffles. I was dragged into another room. A beautiful one at that. Where on earth is this and why are they doing this to me? How could I have been made a target in barely twenty four hours of me arriving in this pack… I was made to sit in a chair and a gigantic mirror stood before me. I could see my own reflection in the mirror. I looked like shit, fuvk! My hair was all messy, my eyes droopy and my cheeks knocked in. I couldn't even find the courage to summon my wolf to help me. Asides from being weak from lack of food, Carlos had hurt her so badly. My eyes searched around. The thought of me being butchered in this room scared the shit out of me. I had to find something. Anything to get me out of here. This was basically a girly room, what sharp objects could possibly be here to help me…I sighed in defeat as nothing of interest caught my eyes. A moment later the door opened and another woman entered. She was carrying with her a somewhat big metallic four corners box. "Hurry up. Get her prepared." The first woman said. She seems to be pacing slowly around the room as though something bothered her. But that isn't my problem anyways. I must get out of here. I stylishly checked the tightness of the rope my hand was tied with. It wasn't all that strong. Maybe a little wriggle will loosen it. But I had a bigger hassle. How could I take out the three of them? They must be Lycans. Lycans aren't easy to beat and definitely not in my weak state. The second woman came to me. She placed the metallic box she had entered with on the table and pulled at the four sides causing the box to open. When I looked closely, I saw it was a make-over box. What? Why am I being made up? She rolled the mirror away, took out a soft fluffy white wool from the box, leaned towards me and began to wipe my face with it. "What are you doing…what are you doing…" I started to struggle. I won't let them do anything on me. "Stay still!!!" The first authoritative woman thundered from behind. She marched towards me and gripped the handles of the chair I sat on and glared really hard at me. She was breathing heavily with her grip tightening on the chair handles. "Please, stay still and we will be done before you know it…. please…" she said breathlessly. Slowly she straightened up and shifted away. The make over woman came back and continued working on my face. I was still gathering what just happened now. This woman that kidnapped me is really acting strange. I expected to see this wicked glare in her eyes. Hell she kidnapped me! But why do I feel pity for her? There was so much sadness in her eyes. She acted like one without emotions or care in the world but she actually looked pitiful. I sat calmly and let the make over woman work on my face whilst hoping a better moment for me to escape would come. In another few more minutes, she straightened up and began to lock up her box. "I am done, Luna." She said as she bowed her head. The first woman, hands folded across her chest sized me up and then nodded her head approvingly. "That will be all." She faced the man and asked him to take the makeover woman away. I was left alone with her. She pulled down the rope that was tied against my mouth and rolled the mirror back to face me. I almost blurted out a scream as my mouth gaped in both shock and surprise the moment my eyes set on the mirror. I couldn't recognize myself. Total transformation! "What the hell have you done to me…."LIA BLAKE"What the hell have you done to me?" I muttered in disbelief. Gosh, what happened to Lia Blake that I used to know? The last time I came close to looking this snatched up was last summer at the school prom night. Of course it didn't end well for me.She walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a white long lacy and extremely pretty dress. Wait…isn't that a …a wedding dress. "A wedding dress?" My eyes widened. She extended it to me and said, "Put it on…erm but before then I would like to say something…" Now this is beginning to get scary. Who exactly is this woman before me…She hung the wedding dress in one of the hanger, ran her fingers on it as though she didn't want to leave it but for some reason had to."You know, I have always been excited for this moment…my wedding, the night I get to be fully joined in marriage to my mate and love of my life…well…life doesn't always go as planned…" her voice went low. I could feel the sadness in her tone. Who exactly is she and why d
Lia BlakeI heard a rustling and creaking sound in my sleep. I forced my eyes to shut even more. All through the night, the cold had gotten worse and the entire hairs on my body had stood erect as the cold hammered against my body. I was a bit thankful for the wedding dress. The long length had been of help. A typical example of a blessing and curse. The air got colder and the terrible stench of the dungeon got worse by the second. I couldn't catch a glimpse of sleep even though I had my eyes shut most of the time. I did more stopping myself from breathing than trying to sleep. But each time I squinted my eyes towards the prisoner, he always looked to be sound asleep curled up in one corner of the dungeon. I wondered how he could have offended the Lycan King to find himself here, how long he must have been here and how many more days, perhaps weeks or months he had to stay here. Poor him. Lia, worry more about yourself. The thought of being his prison mate had goosebumps crawling
DERRICK KINGS"What is it, Damian? And why did you have to come here? You are stopping the guards from doing their duty." I frowned at Damian when we were away from the guards and the intruder lady. "Derrick, I know I shouldn't be doing this but think carefully about this…" Damian started, his playful grin gone from his face. "Think about what?""Her…you can't have her locked up, don't tell me you are doing this because of…"Because of what?" I snapped, feeling my anger surge. Knowing what exactly he was trying to bring up, I cut him off, not willing to reopen an old wound that moment. "She has a hand in the disappearance of Laura and must be held hostage until Laura is found." "Do you really believe she has a hand in Laura's disappearance?" Damian asked me. I looked at him, confused. "What the heck are you trying to say?" I clenched. "Relax man, relax. I just asked. But if you will let me speak to you right now as your Beta and not your friend, I will advise you to deal with th
LIA BLAKE"Wear this!" An older woman flimsily threw some cloth at me. Unable to catch it, the cloth dropped to the ground. She was putting on a servant's clothing and I knew at once she must be one of the elderly servants. "And you are not allowed to be clumsy here! Get your tiny self into them and get your arse down for some work! You stink!" She added, shot me a disgusting look before she walked out of the room slamming the door behind her shot. I stared down at myself, at the once extremely pretty wedding dress I wore that had now turned into a complete mess and stinking badly from the stench of the dungeon. Anyone would hardly believe it. I sighed tiredly and sank into the nearby seat. Well, it was actually the only seat in the somewhat large room. "You will be my wife…" the words of the Lycan King echoed in my head. Such good meaning words said with so much venom and cruelty. Cold shivers creeped my flesh and I shuddered. To any she-wolf, those words were pleasing to hear
LIA BLAKE"Don't worry, you will get used to it." Ma'am Lucy said as though she read my thoughts. There were some guards guarding the frontage of the different axis of the exquisite buildings. "He really is the king…" I murmured in awe gaping around the place. My father's house, despite how I usually saw it as one of the finest houses in my pack, was like nothing compared to this beauty. "Excuse me, we are here to see the king…He is aware of our coming." I heard Ma'am Lucy ask one of the men on duty. I didn't hear the guard speak but Ma'am Lucy was soon calling out to me. "Come along girl! The King is waiting.""Yes ma'am," I mumbled still partly in awe as I took quick long strides to catch up with her. She pushed open the entrance door and we let ourselves in. The dead silence of the room struck me the moment we stepped in. A series of portraits and pictures of people I guessed to be legends or perhaps had an impact on the pack hung on the wall. "This is the throne room, not
DERRICK KING"So, what did you decide to do with her?" Damian asked as he strolled into my office.I was busy with some documents. There was a lot more about being a Lycan king. Asides making tough decisions, this was also part of it…signing of and approving necessary projects and duties."Have you seen Rick? Why hasn't he submitted the list of men fit for the next level of training yet?" I asked without taking my eyes off the paper I was looking through. "I have no idea what that bastard is up to…I haven't set my eyes on him since morning." Damain said without interest and slumped into the settee across my table. The door opened and someone trotted in briskly. "Here, sir. Forgive my lateness." I looked up to see Rick drop a file on the desk and flashing me a dirty grin. "Where have you been?" I asked him as I ran my eyes down his chaotic body."Training your men, of course. We went hunting too. Damn, the hounds are pumped. I bet they wouldn't waste a second to rip apart anythin
BLOOD MOON PACK WRITER'S POV"This is so strange…" Jimmy said as he and Emily walked out of Alpha Blake's home. "Exactly…she couldn't have just gone off the grid without notice. Does it even make sense?" Emily added. She was worried and scared at the same time. They were heading out of Alpha Blake's house where they were informed by one of the servants that Lia hadn't been home for more than a few days. They all thought she was with them as she used to be in the past and they, Jimmy and Emily equally thought she was at home. "Wait!" Emily screeched to a halt. She sneered as a sudden thought hit her. "You don't think she is with Carlos right now?"Jimmy's face rumpled. "You mean like Carlos has kidnapped her? But why would he do that? He found his mate and…"Emily smacked his head. "Idiot, not like kidnapped her. Maybe she went to him to beg him to take her back.""Lia wouldn't do that. You know Lia, she cares about her pride," Jimmy said. "Hm-mm," Emily nodded thoughtfully. J
WRITER'S POVThe Hulk sneered at Barnes, "You, have you tricked me?"For several minutes, Barnes kept taking him to different places claiming she had lost her toy there but once he got searching for it, she always told him it wasn't there and took him to a different place. And when he tried to ignore her and get back to the house, she would pout and burst into tears. But the Hulk wasn't having it again. He straightened up and faced her. Then he gripped her by the neck and lifted her to his eye level. "You dare trick me… who made you do this?" He growled.Barnes writhed in pain. "I…I really lost…""Tell me who made you do this or I will end you right now…""Let me go and I will tell you!"He lowered her back to the ground still glaring at her. "Speak!" He barked.Barnes wiped her face. Emily had told her to try and hold off the Hulk for as long as she could. But she wasn't sure she could continue anymore. The Hulk was already sniffing the foul play. "I'm sorry, Emily. I hope you are
“Which hotel is that?” Derrick asked as he stretched his arm for Damian to button around his wrist. “The best hotel to ever be built in Harrow Wood Pack,” Rick responded a bit cockily. “I made the choice,” he added, his grin widening. Damian scoffed. “I would have picked a better one.”“Is everything ready?” Derrick ignored the bickering two and asked. “Everything is…well, except your wife whom you will have to ride down there with.”Derrick breathed. Maybe he had gone overboard. Perhaps the honeymoon wasn't really necessary. “There's a bit of a problem,” Rick began slowly. “The women…erm they seem kind of erm…excited—”“What do you mean excited?” Derrick asked.Rick pointed him to the window in response. Derrick marched to the window and saw a group of women, some children and youth standing around. They were chanting. Some of them had a placard that read “Happy honeymoon king and Luna! Give us a pup!”He quickly shut the curtains and clenched back a grunt. “Is the car ready?”“
Lia prowled around her room. There was no way she was doing honeymoon with Derrick. What did he mean by not ever letting her free? If he thought he would ruin her chances of ever living like a normal person in the future by exposing her face to the public, then she wouldn't let him. “Clara?” She called out to her personal assistant. One of the other maids came and told her that Clara just left. “She left? to where?” Lia asked. “She didn't tell me but I suspected you sent her on an errand,” the maid said. Lia shrugged, “It's alright. I will find her myself.”She had wanted Clara to accompany her to Derrick's quarters. He couldn't just drop a bomb on her and disappear. At Derrick's quarters, she was easily allowed inside by the guards. She stopped in front of the study knowing Derrick was most likely to be there. She was about to knock but casually stopped. She inhaled deeply mentally rehearsing her lines—”I may be your bait but I am not about to let you walk all over me.” He
“And voila! We have a schedule!” Rick released a satisfied moan. Derrick collected the card and had a look. He shrugged and handed it back to him. “What? Not to your taste?”asked Rick frowning. “It's alright. It's just for the public anyway. Send it across to my wife.”“Huh?!” Both Rick and Damian gasped at the same time. “What is it?” Derrick frowned at both their natural syncing and show of surprise. “You just called her your wife!” Rick and Damian bellowed at the same time again. Derrick tried to retrace his speech. Realizing he actually did call Lia his wife, he felt a sudden rush of heat to his ears. “I didn't,” he denied rising to his feet and ignoring Rick and Damian's lingering smirk. “You did!”“I didn't.”“You did.”“I didn't.”“You did–”“My Alpha, you have a guest,” a guard announced. “Oh, a guest? Great!” Derrick exclaimed. Grateful for the opportunity as he departed the room shutting his ears and eyes to his friends taunts and smirks. “I will take this to the br
BLOOD MOON PACK “Rose you can't do this to me…” Carlos begged, feeling helpless. The discussion he had avoided was finally happening. For the past weeks, he'd noticed Rose's changes. Things she would usually not do, she started doing easily; missing his calls and not calling back, being too busy for him all of a sudden and sneaking away to take calls. He knew why she was acting this way, he knew it all but he'd decided to not bring it up. Because he was afraid of this very moment. “I'm sorry Carlos– I wished I didn't have to make a choice,” Rose said. “You don't have to! You only need to stay with me. Please, Rose…”“I wanted to! I wanted to…but—”As he tried to hold her, she dodged. “I'm sorry Carlos but I have chosen Kelly and I have rejected our bond. I hope you find your second chance mate.”Casting him one last pitiful glance she hurried away leaving a helpless Carlos. As much as Carlos wanted to chase after her, go on his knees and beg her until she accepted him back, he hel
“What is the next step? His men are coming after me… they are searching all over the Pack for me…they will find me and kill me…”“Stop acting like a sissy!” Alpha Dante lashed out at the fidgeting reporter. He turned to Alpha Gregory and eyed him. He had told him to find a good reporter. Where did he find such a scaredy cat? “Look , Mr Graven, you need to calm down and let me think–”Mr Graven spun, eyes red with fury. “I can't hide in your house forever! The king has eyes everywhere. He can find me here and kill me! You are asking me to calm down? Because it isn't your bloody name that is plastered all over the newspaper as a fucking wanted man!”“I said shut your mouth!” Alpha Dante snarled. “Don't ask me to keep calm! Okay fine….You know what. I'm done with this and you both. You are the ones at a disadvantage now. I can go to the king and tell him everything you have done. You paid that woman to lead the protest and you made me write that report!” Graven sneered, his red shot e
LIA'S POV Why would Derrick kiss me? In front of the women at that! Fine, he was trying to make a point and It was only on my forehead but still… he could have chosen to do anything else but kiss. And he'd done it so naturally that the women were completely fooled! I was nothing but a bait until he caught whoever he wanted to catch and found Laura. And yes, this wasn't supposed to make me panic but since I returned from the unexpected meeting, it couldn't leave my head. I took off the extremely tight dress Clara had made me put on and let out a gasp. Well, he was an Alpha that would do anything to get what he wanted. I sighed as I recalled his words. I was nothing but his bait. I'm sure he would never feel differently about the kiss or anything. However, I feared my identity was on the verge of getting exposed. Those lycan women could have marked my face even though we were some height from them. But no matter what, Derrick must never find out I was not of lycan blood. Never. My
Standing in the balcony of the second floor of the building, Derrick looked down over the heads of the women. As much as he wanted, he couldn't get a good look at their faces. It was practically impossible considering the distance. But even if he were to be closer to them, it was almost impossible to detect his enemies amongst them–which was actually what he wanted more. He blamed Damian and Ethan for putting him up to this and wasting his precious time. The main mastermind he was seeking for was most likely not present. “Women of Harrow Wood! You want me to prove that the Luna is truly my wife and we are not having a fake marriage. Then so be it. To prove the sincerity of our marriage, I am declaring a week holiday for everyone. On the seventh day, we shall be having a celebration! Bring your families along!” “We want to know her identity! She is a murderer! She murdered Laura!” Someone screamed from the crowd. Derrick squinted at the screamer. He couldn't get a better view
“Some people are incredible,” Jimmy muttered, shaking his head. “You mean some people are increasingly good with words,” Emily rephrased. “Mm-hm,” Jimmy mumbled and readjusted in his position. They were at the back of the thick crowd of women in the lycan king's house. The women's voices were booming as they waited for the king to come out and address them. “Are you sure we did the right thing following them to come here?” Emily whispered to him. “If we are to find Lia, we have to stay up to date with the happenings of the Pack. We will leave once we hear what the king says to them.” “That is if he will show up,” Emily mumbled back, stretching her head to catch a glimpse of the lycan king’s house. She thought the women were bold, storming into their lycan king's house to protest. All credit to the woman that convinced them. Although she had to involve her life in the process of convincing them. “Still…this is…bold…” she sighed, pressing back a spilling yawn. “This is t
WRITER'S POV “Alpha Dante?” Alpha Gregory held the door, surprised. “What brings you to my abode?” “We are not supposed to meet today…” he added and looked past him expecting to see someone else. “We can no longer meet at our usual place. Derrick’s eyes are everywhere,” Alpha Dante uttered hastily as he let himself in. “Did something happen?” Alpha Gregory questioned signaling to one of his servants to bring them a drink. “You should be grateful to me,” Dante said and plopped down in the nearby seat. “We have been followed. Our meeting spot is no longer safe.” “I knew it. We would have been foolish to not expect it. I just didn't expect he would be moving this fast. But…how did you find out?” Alpha Dante looked up, a smirk playing at his lips. Derrick had always discovered any spy he placed in his house. What usually saved him was the oat he always made the men take. They always swear to rather bite their tongue to death than to ever reveal his name. Of course he always
