She was taken aback by his sudden statement. She halts right beside him, her brows shooting up in accusation. She opened her mouth to speak but her words failed her. She couldn’t defend herself even if she tried to. She scoffs and pushed the double door open. Aurora wanted to laugh at the scene but stifled it when Kendrix turned his attention back to her. He lets out a rush of out through his mouth before walking toward her. She hates how her body was responding to him with each step he took towards her. She furrowed her brows and fold her arms over her chest. He gives her a sweet smile and knew she wasn’t going to stay mad at him for long. She raised her head up to look at him because he was now standing in front her and he was insanely taller than her. He watches her expression—it might be harder to convince her than he thought. She looked really angry. It made him question his entire existence. What he did earlier this morning was unacceptable and he doesn’t blame her for bein
She walked through the gates as the enthusiasm overtook her. Her smile spread upon the sight of her home. She’d missed it—she’d missed everything and everyone. She can’t believe that she even misses her father after all the chaos they’ve been through. “This is my home,” she says to Auburn who was already exploring around. Kendrix promised to bring her but alas, he had a tight schedule he couldn’t escape. He asked her to reschedule her visitation but she refused. Auburn offered to accompany her and she was delighted. He didn’t like the idea but Aurora was strongheaded, more than he was. “You guys have a cave? Not fair. I want to see the inside.” She remotely heads towards the cave Aurora and her friends hang around in. “Auburn, focus! We’d go to the cave after I go see my mother. We’ll pick up Azra on the way.” She draws Auburn by her hand and they head towards Aurora’s house. She picked up her pace, making Auburn to protest of how fast she was walking but she couldn’t help it. Sh
Aurora doesn’t want to believe him. She doesn’t believe what her father had just told her but she knew he’d never lie to her. He’d not lie to her for attention or any reason. He’s always honest to her and says the truth whether it’d hurt her or not. This was one of those truth that’d hurt her. She ran her fingers through her hair and clenched it. “No, he didn’t do that. He wasn’t the one that vandalize my home. It’s not true, right mom?” She looks over to her mother and the look on her face says it all. “I thought Kendrix told you Blake was the one that broke in with some other unknown men and destroyed our farms. That boy is good for nothing. I’m glad you didn’t end up with him.” Anakin shakes his head in distress. Aurora stared at the blank space. She doesn’t even know how to digest this news in her head. She doesn’t want to. She doesn’t want to overthink anything but she was hell of mad at the both of them. She’s mad at Kendrix for not telling her the truth and she’s mad at Blak
He smiled down at his phone, staring at her phone number. He didn’t know when she got the phone but he was happy about it. It meant they could communicate more and he’d have a way to show how sorry he was and how he wants things to work out between them. He sincerely wants her to be part of his life. She’s a rare gem and also a key to his living. If things had end up badly today, he doesn’t think he’d make it to morning the next day. Having her number now is literally a huge step up—at least she’s bearing in mind to take him back even after the shit he has put her through. He can’t make that mistake again. Not after almost getting what he wants. He won’t let her slip away without getting everything that he deserves. He saved the number quickly and made it back to the road side where he parked Tyler’s car. He borrowed it to come check if he’d find her. He was so lucky enough especially having ears and eyes in the woods. He was told she’d be there at that time and they were right. H
“Aurora, we need to talk.” She threw her head back and laughed in disbelief. She should be the one saying those words to him but here he was standing as though he’s the victim. Looking at him in the eye made her feel more repelled than she already was with him. She’s not even angry—she’s disillusioned of how she really had hope on him. She almost thought he was different. “Oh yes, we do, because I need to know why you didn’t tell me he came here looking for me since I moved. And why you made him lose his job, his family.”Kendrix looked at her quizzically. She scoffed, rolling her eyes because it seemed like he was about to deny everything she just said. “His job? His family? What are you talking about…”She cuts him short. “Don’t act innocuous, Kendrix. You are not innocent. You never were…”“You need to calm down, Aurora. He’s just trying to get into your head,” he said, taking careful steps towards her. “You’re angry right now I know. But just calm down and I will explain everyt
Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you want it. You’d wish for something, hoping it would happen and even have a chance of having it but watch it wash away just when you were close to getting it. It’s the same with her relationship with Kendrix—she hoped it works out. She really wanted things to go smoothly and they’d have a happy ending but, it’s been a month now and here she was living in his mother’s house for the past four weeks. She only stayed back, to think things through and made her decision. She had made up her mind. She was moving back to Scuris pack today and try to forget Kendrix ever existed despite how hard that is. The first step to forgetting him is leaving where she’d see him every day. It’s crazy how you’d talk to someone every day, share everything, get into each other’s space just so one day you’d wake up and not even spare each other a glance. Aurora winces, not because of that thought but because she just pushed open the entrance door of Kendrix’s house. She
He lowered his head and shifts enough to open the door. She opened the door and stormed out without sparing him a glance. Aurora didn’t have to think twice on this. It was better for her to stay away from him at least until she figures out what she wanted. She had never been so muddled and dejected in her life like this. Everything was jumbled up and too much to take in at once. It feels like she’ll never get out of this mess—like she’s stuck in a clueless maze with no exist. It feels like she’s solving a puzzle that has no face. Kendrix has lied to her or kept secrets from her, or both. She finding it hard to give him a benefit of doubt about that. She had tried to see things from his perspective but it doesn’t match. The last piece of puzzle doesn’t match with the last puzzler. He has no reason to hide anything from her—he should’ve told her everything even if she was going to choose Blake. If he loved her enough like he said and trusted her, he wouldn’t have doubted her. Now, h
Her heart began racing the moment the car pulled into the parking lot. She could see an airplane landing and dropping off passengers. Maybe that was her plane, she thought, hurrying inside the building and gripping onto her suitcase. “Slow down, Aurora. I haven’t even hugged you goodbye.” Azzura hurriedly went after her. Aurora could swear she had forgotten her parents came with her. She halts and turned around to look at them. She was too jumpy and paranoid to even focus on the things around her. This was her first time traveling, her first time being on a plane, her first time interacting with outcasts alone and her first time staying far away from home. She felt overwhelmed by just staring at them for the last time. “I’m really going to miss you guys,” She mutters and engulfed them both in a nice hug. They both squeezed her, making her to giggle at the pressure. “Don’t you dare get pregnant, Aurora,” Azzura proclaimed, sniffing away the tears that were already gushing out. Aur
