Chapter 53
Garfield West ~
Just as Red or now, still, ‘Elena’s’ mom was spitting out more unbelievable words about herself and Elena, somehow, the lycans got themselves into the warehouse. The voice of the leader made it clear when he spoke from the high walkway placed on a higher floor of the spacious warehouse where Elena had used her powers to get us to.
I came out of the car with the few things I could regard as weapons that I had found in the warehouse when Elena’s mom told me and Charlie to barricade the entrances and the exits.
Luckily, ever since Elena got us here, the light system in the building seemed to be working just fine making the warehouse as illuminated as we needed to see the lycans without any difficulty.
“Elena, get out of the car!” I said to Elena on my way out watching the lycans charge violently with nothing but their claws and teeth as means of attack.
“What?!? You want me to
Chapter 54Garfield West ~I ran the knife through every single lycan that stood in my way to the leader and watched as they all burnt to ash. There was no healing from that. In one leap, I got myself to the walkway where the leader was and I walked towards him with a tight grip on the knife. The lycan transformed to his supernatural form and I fixed an aim at him and threw the knife with so much force that it was as fast as a bullet. To my surprise, he caught the knife by the handle just as the knife was about piercing his chest.“I don’t know who you are or how you got here but one thing is clear about you. You don’t fight fair!” the leader said with a grin. “But that’s fine! Neither do I!”He threw the knife back at me with even more force than I did, him. I made a quick reflexive turn making the knife fly right pass me and it burst through the bricks holding the wall of the warehouse. I turned and an un
Chapter 55Elena Claw Wolfs ~“Mom, tell me that he is lying! Tell me that what he is saying isn’t true. I want to know the truth if there’s any in his words!” I shot out at my mother trying not to sound so moved by the words of the lycan. With all that have been going on since this night, I can’t seem to close my eyes and shut my ears to what everyone is saying because one way or the other, someone has been keeping secrets and lying to me and it all points to my mom but about something such as this, could she have lied to me? No!“Come on Sofia, tell her! I’m sure that she would love to know and perhaps, know what happened to her birthmother.” “Don’t you think so too?” the lycan said but instead of his voice being annoying, it was all but that.It was helpful. My mom was silent as if she was finding her words and I could see it in her eyes. She wan
Chapter 56Elena Claw Wolfs ~“Clever girl. As clever as her father, too bad his cleverness couldn’t save him fro me. I take it that Sofia here has told you who your actual mother and father are?”My father!“…He killed the lycan king and in accordance with the decree of the goddess, took his throne alongside the hearts of his people…”“You killed my dad? You killed my dad!!” I said boiling with more rage in my veins instead of blood.I wished I could just appear where he was and just snap his neck. No! I’ll make him suffer first. He has to suffer first. A lot. He has to pay for causing all this to be happening. Death is by far too good for him.“Only because I wanted his throne. I can’t deny the fact that Leonard was a great guy judging by the few moments I spent with him before I ripped out his heart and crushed it.” “But that’ in the
Chapter 57Elena Claw Wolfs ~“I’m sorry!” Sofia said pulling me deeper into the hug. “All I have done up till this very moment has been to keep you safe and prepared.” She continued pulling me out of the tight embrace and looking at me straight in the eyes.“Look at you? Anywhere and any day, I’ll be proud to say I raised you like a daughter of my own. I am proud of the young lady you have grown to become, Elena.” She declared still staring in my eyes. “And you have every reason to hate me for lying to you all these while, from the start.” She said but right now, I couldn’t bring myself to hate her anymore. All I can feel towards her is guilt.I realized that I have been concentrating on my pain so hard that I ended up pouring most of it on the wrong person. The one person who has been by my side through thick and thin, roses and thorns, ups and downs, A&
Chapter 58Elena Claw Wolfs ~Am I truly the cause of Alessia’s pain? The longer I stay here debating on how to get to the supernatural world, the longer her pain persists just because Cassius is using her as a pawn in his evil scheme to get to me. He probably can’t come to this world so he wants me to come to him instead.“Don’t worry yourself too much. She’ll be fine. If we make careless and not well thought of plans, we’ll end up putting your life and even hers in a far greater risk with Cassius.” Gar assured placing his hands on my shoulder as he stood behind me.His touch is so comforting.“He’s right. Alessia is far stronger than Cassius knows. It’ll take more than just glass blades to break her. She loves you more than I can say and will be willing to endure it all just for you to be safe from Cassius’ claws.” Sofia confirmed with a smile.“It’s
Chapter 59Elena Claw Wolfs ~I teleported myself and my mom to our home only to meet it in an appalling state. The lycans made body shaped holes in the walls probably when they were coming out of the house but what really shocked me the most was the sight of a bottle and what it contained when my eyes drafted to it. It was erected on the living room's centre table.Ryan.I don't know how but he's here in a bottle or was it a jar? I couldn't tell the exact difference."What should we do now?" I asked turning to my mom. "I don't think I have enough control over my magic yet to undo whatever Cassius did to him and we can't just leave him like this. Who knows, maybe he has answers as to where there's a blood bank in town." I urged holding the container in my hands.I looked into it and saw Ryan. He is seated inside the bottle helpless and extremely small in size. How is that even possible say more of happening? I'm guessing we have the lycans t
Chapter 60Elena Claw Wolfs"What do you mean by it's in a coven under the statue of liberty? Couldn't they have found somewhere closer on land to establish a blood bank?" I asked Ryan in rising intonations."You guys must really be in need of a portal, aren't you? I'm sorry but that's the only one here in New York City. The vampyres have to keep the existence of supernatural creatures a secret and staying hidden from the society of humans is the only way." Ryan pointed not that it made any difference. The statue of liberty is far off the shores of the city. I could try teleporting all of us there but on getting there, how do we hope to get inside the coven?"Elena, knowing that there's one in town is good news already. Don't worry yourself about how we would get there in time." My mm encouraged almost like she could read my thoughts. "You have to calm yourself down." she added turning to hold my shoulder. "Look at what you're doing!"I real
Chapter 61Elena Claw Wolfs ~"Is something wrong?" I heard my mom ask with a calm tone."No!" I replied sharply still not wanting to admit my present state of weakness.Sofia must've noticed I am taking to long to cast the spell as I usually would. I closed my eyes tighter and took a deep breath inwards. I snapped a finger against another and when I opened my eyes, I was expecting to be at Charlie's front porch but I wasn't."Just in time." I heard Charlie say resting a duffel bag behind his shoulder. The spell didn't take me to him. Instead, it brought them to me. Charlie and Gar. They were standing in the living room few paces from where we stood in better clothes and a duffel bag in each hand."Since, we're here, I presume it's either you've found what you were looking for and we're here so you can lead us to it or was this unintentional?" Gar asked putting down his duffel bag on the ground and walked up to me with his hands in hi

Chapter 68Garfield West ~"Be patient! Your time will come." Cassius said before using his left hand to bat Elena to a wall. "In the end, it all leads back to me." Cassius looked Alessia straight in the eyes as he spoke.Elena flew to the hard wall and smashed hard against it. She remained there for a few seconds before she rose up from the ground aiding herself with her hands. Sparks of electricity were visible on her fingertips. He black hair suddenly turned silver and her eyes went solid golden. What's happening to Elena?"I said, STOOPP!!!!" Elena roared before she charged towards Cassius in the blink of an eye and ceased him by the hand pressing hard on it.That was the same hand he had her mother strangled. With so much strength, Cassius hand was getting crushed like it was some cookie and Elena watched his grip on Alessia lessen until his hand was off her."Vampyre ad aulam regis!" Elena said and in a blue cloud of smoke, Ales
Chapter 67Garfield West ~Sofia and Elena followed right behind him. Luckily for them, Cassius wasn't at the other side of the portal. The first thing Elena set eyes on as she raised up her head was her birth-mother, the rightful lycan queen, Alessia Claw Wolfs eyes locked with hers. She instantly bonded with her."Great! Cassius fell for the bait. I'll take care of the watch-wolves. You two get Alessia out of here. We don't have much time before he gets back." Ryan said igniting a sword made of fire in his hand as he walked towards the lycans that were right infront of Alessia and two others.Rather than move or do anything, Elena froze up. She just stood there her eyes not leaving Alessia. Elena was the spitting image of Alessia so their relation was beyond doubts. The woman before he is truely her birth-mother. They were both speechless until Alessia broke the silence."Elena? My daughter??" Tears welled up in Alessia's eyes as she spoke
Chapter 66Garfield West ~It was all happening so fast that I found it hard to believe that it's actually in reality and not just some dream.I, a lycan? It's crazy enough that I am in a whole new world that's different from the one I grew up to know but to add to the batter, how can Sofia and Ryan come to the same conclusion that I am a lycan just because of what I told them? The rapid healing prooved them right. What's happening to me?If there's one thing I'm beginning to put my trust in concerning magic is that the pictue tends to be clearer if you just open your eyes a little more wider and believe what you see. The sooner I believe and get used to things being unbelieveable, the less confusing they'll seem. Althoygh, I have my doubts. This world has an air different from where the one I grew in. Magic must have an influence over everything here."I'm beginning to think this is a bad idea mom. If you say this Cassiu
Chapter 65Sofia Xanders ~Ryan's control over the element of fire gives us the upper foot against the lycan guards. If we happen to encounter Cassius, I'll leave the commander and his skillful vampyre warriors to distract him long enough for us to get Alessia off his clutches. It's been sixteen years since I last got involved with Cassius. I know he must have gotten stronger and more heartless than before. The flames burnt Ryan's body to ash and out of the ashes, Ryan was formed. With the same speed that the flames began regenerating Ryan, they parted till none was left. I meddled with the flames using my witch magic so Ryan could have some decent clothes one when he gets reborn."Perfect.""I don't remember you being this tall." Commander Sam alleged."Finally. I'm big again. Thanks for the clothes Soph." Ryan said checking himself out. "Now that my powers are working fine, let's go rescue Alessia from that abomination.""You can tu
Chapter 64Sofia Xanders ~I may be human but that's not going to stop me from being there for Red... Elena. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE COMMON MAN. Red has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I'm not leaving her in a time she really needs me." "This must be what magic feels like? I can feel the tingly sensation at my fingertips. The blowing air makes everything look different. This would make for a great story." Charlie commented with the portal in front of him."Your turn, your Majesty." The commander reminded.Sam's irises went vampyre blue and his physique became more built."Are you going to go in or do I have to go in first?" Ryan stormed still in the cup in my hands.I walked into the portal with my eyes closed. A rush of power flowed through me as I emerged at the other end.Sixteen years ago, I was forced by circumstances to leave my mate, my beloved home world and my people as well as everything I had
Chapter 63Sofia Xanders ~"Open the barriers!" Samuel ordered with a loud voice when we had walked and are now a few paces from the statue of liberty. "Welcome, your majesty, to Blood Bank Number 20, 896.B."The magical barrier keeping the blood bank under a cloak came down and we continued walking towards the statue."I heard from a very reliable source that before you brought the trybrid child into this world, you had never set foot in it." Samuel pointed out. "If not for the reason of how urgent your mission back home is, I would have loved to show you all around the coven.""Hey, Red's mom, we have to hurry things up some more." Charlie said giving me a gentle tap on the shoulder. "We have no more than forty minutes.""Commander, I acknowledge you generous offer but however, we really need to get to the portal so if you don't mind, skip the whole introduction and just take us to it." I said with a soft tone but at the same time, m
Chapter 62Sofia Xanders ~I looked at Ryan. Even though I was worried that there's a huge possibility this isn't going to work out, I trusted his words. After all, he has been making good use of his time here in the human world well enough to know things about my own people here that I don't. Unlike me who spends every second of being here raising my best-friend's daughter.I nodded my head and changed my negative worries into positive hopes. Ryan must be right."I am here with Ryan McFlame." I shouted out. "I am here with Ryan McFlame! I am here with Ryan McFlame! The last phoenix and I am Sofia Xanders!"I stared at the waters hoping to see someone just as Ryan had said but there was no one. Gar and Charlie kept dashing worried glances at me but I had no words for them."How is she holding up?" I asked turning to Gar."She's freezing. We have to get her out of here to somewhere she won't be so cold." Gar replied adjusting the cloth
