Chapter 17
Ryan McFlame ~
Together, I and my brothers got ourselves prepared for the worst and finding Frederick and Morgana, they followed us to what those in the Eastern coven referred to as ‘The Control Room’. It was a very wide and spacious room with screens, switches and controls on one side out of four, and a couple of weapons on another side opposite to that. I watched as the lycans made their way through the gates and then proceeded into the coven.
Frederick made us all equip and arm ourselves. Like him, I had no intentions of going down without a fight. The mission of those lycans is unclear so we all would have to take extreme caution. The lycans went straight to our direction. In a short while, they were just at the opposite side of the door leading in and out of the control room.
At the same time as they were doing their best to break the heavy door down, a man appeared behind Rex and held him by the nec
Chapter 18Ryan McFlame ~“My master needs you alive and going if not, I would have loved to make bird soup out of you.” The lycan added walking up to me.“In your dreams!” I said making a ball of fire in my hands and threw it at him while my bruise healed.“Don’t waste your strength.” he said dodging the fireball. “Cassius is getting your abilities. The sooner you and they all accept that, the quicker we can get out of this coven.” he added raising me up with both hands by the neck.“Not on my watch!!!” stormed Frederick running the lycan through with his sword by the chest. “I told you to get off the back of the Royal family! You should have listened! You should have never came near Alessia!!!” he added taking the sword deeper into his chest.“Caaassiuus!!!” screeched the lycan before falling flat on the ground with blood g
Chapter 19 Frederick Claw ~ After Cassius’ attack on the Eastern vampyre coven, I retorted to assemble the elders from the four high covens. We had a meeting and decided that no one of us is capable to defeat the being in question as a result of the fact that he probably has all our powers and abilities. We agreed that we needed the supernatural world united in order to take Cassius down. In the process of unifying the world, I found out that Cassius had also attacked and drained several other creatures of their powers. At a high range, the only creatures who were left out were the lycans whose fate appeared to be tied to his. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and months into years and years into decades but there was not a sight of Cassius or his dwelling place. The lands of the lycans were covered with a barrier so strong that even the powers of the elder witches and warlocks combined couldn't take it down. It was clear th
Chapter 20 Red Adamson ~ A DECADE AND SIX YEARS LATER “Buzz!!! Buzz!!! Buzz!!!” The alarm clock kept on buzzing until I decided to quit being lazy and just get up from bed. I got up from my bed running my hands about my eyes and headed for the bathroom after slipping in a pair of flip flops down on my feet. Quickly, I had a warm bath and came out looking ready for another day. Like every teenager, I decided to take my dressing code more serious than necessary. “Oh well, time to go to the most annoying place on the planet - HIGH SCHOOL.” I said taking a good look at myself at the mirror stand. My hair was in good shape. As black as the night itself flowing down my shoulder in a ponytail. My eyes following suite in shade. I was perfect for school. “Red!!! Breakfast is ready!!!” yelled my mom from the lower part of the house. “Coming mom!!!” I yelled back. Placing a warm smile on my face, with my phone glued to the
Chapter 21 Red Adamson ~ “I hate it when you're right.” I heard Gar say returning the nudge I had given him earlier with a firm blow on the arm. “Owww!” I exclaimed before giving him an equal blow on his arm. “Then, you are lucky that it does happen all the time.” Within a few minutes of the drive, Gar's face began to brighten up. It remained that way until his mom finally put the car to a half by the school. “Okay Red, you two have a nice day. Okay??” “Sure I will!! But as for Gar, I have my doubts.” I said to Mrs. West as I got down from the car and then, consecutively shut the door with Gar who came out from the opposite sided door of the vehicle. “He will... He always does!” Those were the last words of Mrs. West before waving us both goodbye not that we fancied it as she hit the road leaving myself and Gar to another day of boring old and regular school. I and Gar walked up the stairs at the entrance into the hallw
Chapter 22Red Adamson ~“Why on earth did you do that Charlie?” I said with my eyebrows puckered expressing my annoyance. “You think that this is funny?” I added when I observed the smirk on his face that followed a chuckle.“No! Of course not! This isn’t at all funny. It is way beyond that. It’s hilarious! About a minute ago, I gave my best friend the opportunity of a lifetime so she could utilize the voice of an angel she was born with by getting to sing side by side with Ryan McFlame and The Rotten Apples but what do I get instead of a kneeling appreciation or gratitude from her? A ridiculous question, I guess.” Charlie said turning the smile on his face upside down.Charlie has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He had the perfect brown hair that he always keeps spiked up. He was nowhere as handsome has Gar. His hazel brown eyes kept his hair and his eyes in unity. He has always proved w
Chapter 23Red Adamson ~I followed Gar with sealed lips. I wanted to speak but the words just wouldn’t come out. I retorted to agreeing with Gar and just do the singing. Besides, what’s the worst that can happen? It is not like I have a condition that prevents me from doing one of the things I love or anything? My mom for some reasons unknown to me just doesn’t want me singing.Ever since a time when we were driving past a construction site and I was singing the song ‘Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus’. That day, almost like it was some sort of coincidence, a wrecking ball almost knocked down the car as we drove past the construction site. My mom forbade me from singing ever again. I wasn’t even allowed to hum a tune. I couldn’t even bring myself to disobey her. Well, until now I guess. Since then, my MP3 Player has been what supplies life to me musically. I was just eleven years old. Surprisingly, six years have passed and
Chapter 24Red Adamson ~“Buzz!!! Buzzz!!! Buzzz!!!” It was the dawn of another beautiful day for me.Somehow, I feel that something about this day is going to be special for me besides the fact that I am leaving to do some series of songs with Ryan McFlames. I got up from the bed and put the alarm tune to a stop. After a long time of helping my mom out at the café yesterday, my energy felt drained so bad that I needed a lot of sleep to replenish myself. Right now, I had all that was needed to enjoy this day.All except the perfect song to sing and the perfect witchey costume to put on for the festivities of course.I got into the shower and cleaned myself up after which I prepared myself for the day.“Ring!!!” went my phone from the other side of the bed.It was Gar.“If you’re already up, meet me right now. Right by the newly designed supermarket down the
Chapter 25Red Adamson ~“I’ll pick you up at your house by 6PM sharp for the festivities.” Those were the last I heard of Gar before he hopped into his dirt bike he had rested by the side of a rail and drove off.I took another thirty minutes trying to whip up something nice for Halloween. At least now I know how song writers feel. The job is nowhere close to being easy. On a good day, writing songs is kind of what I do even if I do the singing in my head but now, it just feels like I’m dry out of words to sing.‘Charlie!!!’ Charlie is going to be taking the role of one of the backup guitarists. Maybe he can give me a clue or some notes on something to kick start my inner writer. I picked up my shoulder bag and stood up ready to leave where I was and head to Charlie’s right down the block when I noticed through the windscreen of a parked car that both of my eyes had suddenly turned gre

Chapter 68Garfield West ~"Be patient! Your time will come." Cassius said before using his left hand to bat Elena to a wall. "In the end, it all leads back to me." Cassius looked Alessia straight in the eyes as he spoke.Elena flew to the hard wall and smashed hard against it. She remained there for a few seconds before she rose up from the ground aiding herself with her hands. Sparks of electricity were visible on her fingertips. He black hair suddenly turned silver and her eyes went solid golden. What's happening to Elena?"I said, STOOPP!!!!" Elena roared before she charged towards Cassius in the blink of an eye and ceased him by the hand pressing hard on it.That was the same hand he had her mother strangled. With so much strength, Cassius hand was getting crushed like it was some cookie and Elena watched his grip on Alessia lessen until his hand was off her."Vampyre ad aulam regis!" Elena said and in a blue cloud of smoke, Ales
Chapter 67Garfield West ~Sofia and Elena followed right behind him. Luckily for them, Cassius wasn't at the other side of the portal. The first thing Elena set eyes on as she raised up her head was her birth-mother, the rightful lycan queen, Alessia Claw Wolfs eyes locked with hers. She instantly bonded with her."Great! Cassius fell for the bait. I'll take care of the watch-wolves. You two get Alessia out of here. We don't have much time before he gets back." Ryan said igniting a sword made of fire in his hand as he walked towards the lycans that were right infront of Alessia and two others.Rather than move or do anything, Elena froze up. She just stood there her eyes not leaving Alessia. Elena was the spitting image of Alessia so their relation was beyond doubts. The woman before he is truely her birth-mother. They were both speechless until Alessia broke the silence."Elena? My daughter??" Tears welled up in Alessia's eyes as she spoke
Chapter 66Garfield West ~It was all happening so fast that I found it hard to believe that it's actually in reality and not just some dream.I, a lycan? It's crazy enough that I am in a whole new world that's different from the one I grew up to know but to add to the batter, how can Sofia and Ryan come to the same conclusion that I am a lycan just because of what I told them? The rapid healing prooved them right. What's happening to me?If there's one thing I'm beginning to put my trust in concerning magic is that the pictue tends to be clearer if you just open your eyes a little more wider and believe what you see. The sooner I believe and get used to things being unbelieveable, the less confusing they'll seem. Althoygh, I have my doubts. This world has an air different from where the one I grew in. Magic must have an influence over everything here."I'm beginning to think this is a bad idea mom. If you say this Cassiu
Chapter 65Sofia Xanders ~Ryan's control over the element of fire gives us the upper foot against the lycan guards. If we happen to encounter Cassius, I'll leave the commander and his skillful vampyre warriors to distract him long enough for us to get Alessia off his clutches. It's been sixteen years since I last got involved with Cassius. I know he must have gotten stronger and more heartless than before. The flames burnt Ryan's body to ash and out of the ashes, Ryan was formed. With the same speed that the flames began regenerating Ryan, they parted till none was left. I meddled with the flames using my witch magic so Ryan could have some decent clothes one when he gets reborn."Perfect.""I don't remember you being this tall." Commander Sam alleged."Finally. I'm big again. Thanks for the clothes Soph." Ryan said checking himself out. "Now that my powers are working fine, let's go rescue Alessia from that abomination.""You can tu
Chapter 64Sofia Xanders ~I may be human but that's not going to stop me from being there for Red... Elena. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE COMMON MAN. Red has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I'm not leaving her in a time she really needs me." "This must be what magic feels like? I can feel the tingly sensation at my fingertips. The blowing air makes everything look different. This would make for a great story." Charlie commented with the portal in front of him."Your turn, your Majesty." The commander reminded.Sam's irises went vampyre blue and his physique became more built."Are you going to go in or do I have to go in first?" Ryan stormed still in the cup in my hands.I walked into the portal with my eyes closed. A rush of power flowed through me as I emerged at the other end.Sixteen years ago, I was forced by circumstances to leave my mate, my beloved home world and my people as well as everything I had
Chapter 63Sofia Xanders ~"Open the barriers!" Samuel ordered with a loud voice when we had walked and are now a few paces from the statue of liberty. "Welcome, your majesty, to Blood Bank Number 20, 896.B."The magical barrier keeping the blood bank under a cloak came down and we continued walking towards the statue."I heard from a very reliable source that before you brought the trybrid child into this world, you had never set foot in it." Samuel pointed out. "If not for the reason of how urgent your mission back home is, I would have loved to show you all around the coven.""Hey, Red's mom, we have to hurry things up some more." Charlie said giving me a gentle tap on the shoulder. "We have no more than forty minutes.""Commander, I acknowledge you generous offer but however, we really need to get to the portal so if you don't mind, skip the whole introduction and just take us to it." I said with a soft tone but at the same time, m
Chapter 62Sofia Xanders ~I looked at Ryan. Even though I was worried that there's a huge possibility this isn't going to work out, I trusted his words. After all, he has been making good use of his time here in the human world well enough to know things about my own people here that I don't. Unlike me who spends every second of being here raising my best-friend's daughter.I nodded my head and changed my negative worries into positive hopes. Ryan must be right."I am here with Ryan McFlame." I shouted out. "I am here with Ryan McFlame! I am here with Ryan McFlame! The last phoenix and I am Sofia Xanders!"I stared at the waters hoping to see someone just as Ryan had said but there was no one. Gar and Charlie kept dashing worried glances at me but I had no words for them."How is she holding up?" I asked turning to Gar."She's freezing. We have to get her out of here to somewhere she won't be so cold." Gar replied adjusting the cloth
Chapter 61Elena Claw Wolfs ~"Is something wrong?" I heard my mom ask with a calm tone."No!" I replied sharply still not wanting to admit my present state of weakness.Sofia must've noticed I am taking to long to cast the spell as I usually would. I closed my eyes tighter and took a deep breath inwards. I snapped a finger against another and when I opened my eyes, I was expecting to be at Charlie's front porch but I wasn't."Just in time." I heard Charlie say resting a duffel bag behind his shoulder. The spell didn't take me to him. Instead, it brought them to me. Charlie and Gar. They were standing in the living room few paces from where we stood in better clothes and a duffel bag in each hand."Since, we're here, I presume it's either you've found what you were looking for and we're here so you can lead us to it or was this unintentional?" Gar asked putting down his duffel bag on the ground and walked up to me with his hands in hi
