Chapter-3

Stacey’s POV

.

I woke up because of the irritating sound of my alarm, with the feeling that someone was hitting my head with a hammer over and over again. I groaned in pain with my head pounding. How much did I drink last night? And how did I even get here?

After drinking with Derek, the rest was a blur.

Derek! He must have got irritated because of me. I would apologize to him for last night. I slowly sat up on the bed, not wanting to rush because I knew that I was on time, at least till now. I looked around and found medicine for my headache and water.

I knew that I kept my medicine in this place itself but I was not sure that I had brought water for myself last night. At the same time, there was a knock at the door and I jumped a bit, wondering who the hell entered my penthouse!

‘It’s Derek, stupid. Can’t you smell him?’, My wolf scolded me and I rolled my eyes.

“Come in, Derek.”

“Good Morning, Luna!”, He greeted me and approached the bed, holding a tray in his hand.

“Morning!”, I nodded and found a coffee and fruit sandwich in the tray.

 I had no idea how to react to everything. I mean what was Derek doing here? And why had he brought breakfast for me?

‘Please don’t tell me I hooked up with him.

Moon Goddess, please tell me I did not have sex with her last night.’

‘Nothing like that happened between us, I can smell that.’, My wolf replied and after that, I relaxed a bit. She started telling me all the things which I did last night on which I couldn’t help but felt embarrassed.

“I believe your wolf would have told you everything about last night.”, Derek said on which I nodded my head.

‘If you are thinking how my wolf was active even though I was drunk. Well, that’s because she only sleeps because of wolfsbane, it’s my human body which gets affected because of the drink.’

“Yeah! I’m sorry. I know I did and said so many things which I shouldn’t have.”, I apologized, feeling bad about everything I said to him.

“It’s fine, Luna. Really! Don’t feel bad, you know you are funny when you are drunk. I have to admit that.”, He said with a smile.

“Talking about last night, I remembered that you agreed to be my friend. So, Derek, when we are not at work, Call me Stacey.”

“Okay, Stacey.”, He replied. “I am leaving now and will see you in the pack.”, He added, that’s when I observed that he had worn Adams’s clothes and my wolf was silent about it. She hated sharing our mate’s things with anyone.

‘Ex-mate’, She grumbled. ‘Well, I am trying to change my nature from now on. We need to move on, right?’

‘Hmm’

“And last but not the least, I am sorry for wearing his clothes without your permission.”

“It’s fine.”, I replied with a smile. Yes, it was fine really! I was not going to lie but he looked handsome even in a pair of trousers and a simple t-shirt. I mentally slapped myself for thinking about him in this way. It was wrong.

‘I don’t think so.’

‘Shut up, Alicia!’

“Wait! Derek.”, I stopped him when he was about to leave the penthouse because I had a plan.

Derek and I headed into the packhouse together, making everyone look at us and whispering. I knew what they were all thinking and this was what I wanted because a couple of them were still in touch with Adams. I was sure Adams would be hearing about this before the day was up, which meant when I showed up at the party with Derek, it would be more believable that something was going between us for sure.

“Can I get Black coffee for you, Luna?”, He asked, going back into a professional mode which I appreciated since we were in a pack.

“Yes, please.”, I smiled, knowing he was going to mindlink Shaily. He left from there to check warriors, while I headed toward my cabin. The expression on my face immediately changed when I smelt his scent. I pushed the door of my cabin and found him sitting on my chair.

‘What the hell is she doing here?

As far as I remember, I have made it clear to everyone that Adams was not their Alpha anymore.’

‘Well, technically he has not accepted your rejection, so he’s still our mate.’, Alicia said.

‘Yeah! Yeah! He’s doing that on purpose so that we’ll feel the pain of betrayal and can hear all his groans and moans whenever he fuck that bitch.’, I answered back on which Alicia didn’t counter back.

“What are you doing here?”, I snapped at him.

“Don’t act like you have not missed me, Stacey.”, He said, smirking. Could you guys see the guts of this shameless man?

The moment I heard my name from his mouth, Alicia purred in my mind because of happiness. It’s a big thing for a mate to be called by his/her name mate. I tried to control my emotions, knowing that he was right. Even after everything, he did to me and not seeing him for a week, makes Alicia crazy. Well, even though I do miss him, I miss him a lot. He made his way over to see, standing in front of me. He looked handsome as usual. I wanted to hug him badly and kiss him senselessly but I also remembered what he did to me. I swallowed hard as I eyed him up and down before finally meeting his eyes.

“What do you want?”, I asked, knowing very well that he wanted my position, which he lost when I kicked him out of the pack for leaving me for another woman.

What did he think? Just because I made him the Alpha, he owned my pack?

“My wolf is going crazy without his mate and so do yours. So, I was hoping we could have some fun together.”, He whispered and pulled me close by grabbing my hips.

I gulped, feeling his hard length against my body. I knew I should push him away, but he still had a hold over me, and he knows it. All the Alpha males and Alpha females couldn’t resist themselves from the mate bond for long. That’s the reason we have had sex even after all things happened.

“Adams.”, I warned, knowing I was losing my control over my body.

“Come one, babe. I know you and Alicia still want me.”, He whispered huskily in my ears, rubbing his hard length against mine. I can feel your arousal, you are already wet for me.”, He purred, running his hand on my thigh.

I moaned, Adams, taking that as the cue, pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back before reality hit me. I couldn’t let him take advantage of my emotions all the time, not happening again. I quickly pushed him away, pulling my lips from his.

“You can come to me all the time to satisfy your wolf’s need, Adams. This is not happening, Adams. I am not your toy with whom you can play whenever you want.”, I growled at him.

“Alicia needs her mate.”,

“No. She doesn’t need one. Because she...no we both are seeing someone else. Now, we don’t need your dick anymore. So, better accept my rejection and fuck off. We don’t want you back in our life.”, I snapped, telling her straight for the first time. I heard Alicia whimpering in pain with the thought of losing her mate.

‘Remember, what Derek had told us last night, Alicia!’ I tried to console her.

‘I know but it hurts.’

“What? Who? Is it that your bastard Beta? Were you and he fucking before I even left? I am two hundred percent sure, you were.”, He snarled at me.

Wow! I didn’t expect this reaction from him. By the way, was he for real right now? He had no right to talk with me in that way. He had left me just because I...I couldn’t conceive his child. I couldn’t help but smirk at how he was responding to me. He was pissed off as she had expected. I wanted to tell him that yes, Derek is the one but then I thought to irritate him a little more without telling anything. It would be fun to watch her expression when I would reach the party with Derek.

“Why don’t you find the answer to your question on your own! As for now, get the fuck out of my pack.”, I growled.

“Whatever, you’ll come back to me because you still love me, Stacey.”, He huffed before storming out. I saw Shailey standing on the other side of the door, holding my coffee. Adams hit her with his shoulder while storming out, making the coffee slip from her hand.

“What the….”, I quickly ran outside my cabin. “Are you alright, Shailey?”

“Y..yes, Luna”

I looked in the direction where Adams was heading, and my eyes widened when I saw him approaching Derek.

Shit! This wouldn’t end well. I thought when Adams held Derek’s collar.

“I knew you were fucking my mate, you bastard”, He growled at him.

Derek held Adam’s right hand with which he had held his collar and released his collar from his fist. “DON’T YOU DARE TALK TO ME LIKE THAT, ADAMS. And what’s happening and what’s not happening between me and Stacey is none of your business now. Let me remind you that you left her, if you have forgotten that fact.”, Derek growled back.

I was surprised to see this reaction from Derek. I mean he never answered back to Adams till we were together even when Adams used to insult him for no reason, but I was glad that he did now. Adams tightened his fist. 

‘Don’t tell me they are going to fight over me.’

But he then stormed away without saying anything else.

“Derek, you don’t have to babysit me tonight because I am not going to the pub.. So, you can have your personal plan if any.”

“Sure.”, He smiled brightly after hearing me. I was not sure whether he was happy with the news of me not going to the pub or if he got some time for himself.
