Chapter Thirty-Four. You killed them?

Ivanna's POV

‘Moon,’ I mind linked my wolf. ‘What are you talking about? How the hell is King Ace our mate? What about Rocco?’

‘He isn’t our mate anymore. The moon goddess has severed your bond with him. The king is now our fated mate. And I think he'll make a better mate than Rocco did. He is solid. We should be with him.’

I was speechless, listening to Moon give her opinion about King Ace. She was always passive and less opinionated. It was a shock that she just said so much about him.

And yeah, she could be right. King Ace could be a million times different from Rocco. But that didn't mean that I wanna be chained to him.

‘No. I can’t accept him. All I need is peace of mind. I don't wanna get entangled in another mate bond. Not now.'

‘He's going to be my helper. The bond with him will strengthen me. I don’t want to keep being a weak wolf who doesn't know how to help you when you're in danger. I want to be strong. I need him to be strong.'

It wouldn't be easy to erase that from my memory."Please?" "Thank you," I took the food with unsure, shaky hands. "Are you sure this food wasn’t poisonous?""Yes," he sighed. "You should start eating." After much contemplation, I couldn't resist the aroma of the food anymore, so I dug in. It was extremely delicious, but with the pleasure of eating it came disturbing thoughts of his ulterior motives behind this. Was he feeding me so I would be indebted to him, and wouldn't reject his proposal anymore? Was I being trapped by this food? Was that it?I ate the last of the food and put down the cutleries. He took the tray."Uh, you can go see your f

"So tell me, what are you going to do about the king?" She asked. I sighed. I'd be lying if I said I had this situation figured out. It was all too complicated. Everything happened so fast, that I barely had the time to think. One second, I was with Rocco. And now, King Ace. All in a snap of the finger. So fucking complicated."Ivanna…""I don't know, Jenny. Draven walked in with some fancy envelope in his hand. "My King," he bowed. "What is it? Can't you see that I'm busy? You couldn't choose a better time?" I was pissed and frustrated. I had a lot of work to do. A lot of files needed my signature. And a lot of business proposals from other Packs were waiting for me to preview them and either accept or decline. I had a shit load of work glaring at me. It was neither the time nor the place to entertain whatever Draven had to say. "I'm sorry to bother you, my king, but I thought I should deliver it to you immediately. It's an invitation from Alpha Dean." "Again?" I snorted, glaring at the invitation. "It's the tenth I've received in the last couple of months. And the hundredth these past few years. Doesn't he know when to stop? He's becoming a nuisance." "I think he

How well we would click when we eventually get to meet. Every damn thing about her ran through my thoughts. ‘I can’t wait to see her, Ace,’ Klaus said. I felt how happy he was. Klaus was my wolf who was always nagging me to go out and find his mate. He was a strong and scary Zeta wolf. I always let him out whenever we were at war. According to the rumors, father was drunk and his mother, Clara, had taken advantage of him. Even after giving birth to Alex, we treated her well but she wanted more. Titles. She wanted the queen’s throne. Wanted to replace my mother. She was filled with so much resentment and she instilled it in Alex. Made him think he was never loved a

I lingered in the bath for a long time, appreciating what it had to offer me.“Ivanna, are you in there?” I heard Ace's voice.“Yes, is something the matter, Ace?” I inquired.“Ah! No. I was only worried when I woke up, and I didn’t find you beside me,” he uttered. “Are you okay in there?”“Yes, I’m good,” I replied. “I will be out soon.”“Okay," he replied. After I was satisfied, I stood up and picked up the towel.
