Emily Emily tried to move fast but it was literally impossible. The problem was, she couldn’t make any mistakes right now. She took one deep breath… then another… then another. She calmed her breathing as much as she possibly could. And then she started. She got the glass with the little bit of the mixture in the bottom and limped over to the kitchen sink. She poured the rest of the mixture into the water bottle, careful not to inhale any of it.. and careful not to touch it. She then tightened the top back on the water bottle and stuck the whole thing in the waistband of her sweat pants. She hoped to goddess the plastic wouldn’t bust open… She took the glass then and dried it out with a washcloth Nick had brought. The washcloth, that might have small bits of the mixture on it, was discarded. Then.. she slammed the glass against the steel wall, breaking it. Emily went over as quickly as she could muster- which wasn’t very quick at all- and picked up the biggest piece of glas
Emily What. The. Actual. Fuck. How did he get out of his confinement room? Did Nick let him out?? And why was he here now? “Hello Luna.” He said was stalking towards her slowly. “Raleigh? How did you get out of confinement?” She asked him. “Oh you’d be surprised what people can get away with here when everyone else is preoccupied.” He said. “What do you mean preoccupied?” She asked him. He let out a huff. “What do you think?? They’re all looking for you… you don’t look so good Emily. What the fuck did Nick do to you?” He said snarling his nose. “How did you find this place? Did Nick send you??” She asked him. She was trying to keep him talking as he continued walking slowly toward her. He let out a hateful laugh then. “Of course not. Nick would never tell a secret like this to anyone outside his family. But that doesn’t mean others in his family wouldn’t.” He smirked. This was so odd. Every time she had ever been around Raleigh he was completely stoic. Straight and seri
Lorenzo As soon as he’d heard Emily was missing he left his pack and came straight to hers. The entire drive he was losing his mind thinking of all the awful things that could’ve happened to her. Her brother had been frantic enough on the phone that Lorenzo knew he was worried. And that meant this was serious. It was all he could do not to strangle someone as soon as he hung up. He didn’t need to lose anymore chairs so throwing another one was out of the question. But he did turn around and punch the wall so hard a large hole appeared. The walls were made from extremely thick reinforced logs. They were sturdy fuckers. And his hand went straight through it with no problem at all. Except there was a problem. Now he had to fix that shit. Collins had ran into his office and Jarvis was right on her heels. “Goddess.” She said when she saw the huge hole. “We’re gonna have to ramp up the heat.” Lo almost… ALMOST smiled at that. He’d never met a wolf that was bothered by the cold. Thei
Emily. She was still laying on the bed, unable to move. Her pants still off and Raleigh putting his back on when Nick flew through the door. He took one horrified look at Raleigh.. and then one at her….He growled .. a horrible sound as she quickly tried to get her clothes fixed and get up. But he’d already shifted. He bounded across the room in one giant leap. Raleigh didn’t even have time to speak before Nick was on his neck… biting and clawing and twisting. It was like the fight with him and Lo… only Raleigh was still in human form.. and stood no chance whatsoever. Emily began to cry again. She quickly reached under the pillow and got the glass shard sticking into her shirt sleeve. It cut her again. But she didn’t feel it. She was too scared. Raleigh went down in a lump. Nick had taken a chunk out of his neck. He was dead. Raleigh was dead. He’d just been here a second ago… and now he was gone. She let out a whimper… Nick slung his head towards her. If he attacked her now..
Lorenzo He and Alan decided not to say anything to Nick yet. They didn’t want to tip him off and have to do something rash to Emily. Or run away. Instead they went straight to the council. Reymond frowned. “You think Nicklaus did this? Her husband… her mate??” He asked them. Alan and Lo both answered at the same time. “Yes.” Reymond sighed. Then Red asked: “where is Alpha Nick right now?” But no one knew. “Alright. Let’s don’t scare him off though. Let’s search the town hall, Red. And you three.. go over to the pack house and start looking around. See if you can find this safe room. Or Nick. But don’t question him wait til we get there in case he tries to run off.” Reymond said. They nodded. When they entered the house.. Ellis said ..“Come with me a moment.” And he led them into the kitchen. They walked to the back part of the kitchen where the cooking happened and asked s few of the wolves back there to leave them a moment. Once they were gone he turned to Alan and
Lorenzo He jerked awake. The chair he was sitting in and sleeping in and had been in was causing his bones to ache. He’d never been in a hospital as much as he has lately.. hell he may as well pack his bags and move in. The last time he’d been here Emily’s arm and shoulder had been mangled. Silver was coursing through them. And her mind … her mind has been at war with itself. That’s why she hadn’t been waking up. Because when she did…. She would have to face that her best friend had been shot. But this time? This time it wasn’t her mind she was warring. It was the entire world. Her body was so crumpled and damaged that he didn’t know if she was even there mentally. And he was scared to death. When they had opened that door to the safe room, the sight before them caused the oxygen to leave his body. He had physically not been able to stand. His legs gave out … he had to grab the wall to hold himself upright. He couldn’t comprehend what he was seeing. Raleigh laying in the floo
Emily Emily was sitting by the little stream in the woods. She had been a run and shifted back to sit and watch the water a while. Evidently she was tired because she’d taken a nap. When she woke up.. she wasn’t alone. She turned and looked at the person sitting next to her. Charlotte. Charlotte grinned at her and Emily immediately started crying. But why was she crying? Wait a minute. Charlotte couldn’t be here. Charlotte had died. But there she was… sitting right beside her. “Charlotte?” She asked. Charlotte laughed. “Yeah goofy. Why are you acting so surprised?” Emily smiled at her. But then she frowned and looked around. “Where did you come from?” She asked her. “Emily…” Charlotte said. “I’ve been here the entire time.” Tears ran down Emily’s face. She reached over to grab her best friends hand. To her surprise she could feel it. She gasped. Then she reached out and hugged her. She hugged and hugged and squeezed her as tight as she could. Charl
Emily Emily opened her eyes and looked around. She was thankful she had been able to return here. She had done it so many times now, she was afraid she couldn’t find her way back. But this time. Charlotte wasn’t there. But Emily wasn’t alone either. There were birds everywhere. Hundreds of them from the looks of it. But not just any bird. Rare purple finches. Emily smiled. She knew by now these birds were a sign from Charlotte. But she was in a dream… wasn’t she? And she wanted the real Charlotte. Although Emily wasn’t completely convinced this was a dream anymore. That line between what was real and what wasn’t — had blurred completely. The birds flew around her.. some of them on the ground.. making their beautiful music with their voices. Wait. Voices. She heard more of them. But this one was a new one. Not her brothers or father. Not Juniper or Maeve. No. This voice belonged to Lorenzo. “Lo?” She said. Lo was here? She took two steps towards the voice but then stop
EmilyFor the next few days, in between taking care of the kids and playing and spending time with them… hanging out with Alan, going to see the doctor and doing some exercises he had given her and working with Samuel on the Alpha duties… AND taking care of her Luna duties as well…. She started writing. She did Raleigh’s first. Even though he had died … they still needed testimony on him to link Sophia and the rogues. It was very hard for her to write about what he had done to her in that safe room. But once she finished… she did feel lighter… and better about it. She had been having nightmares occasionally. Usually they involved Nick and him trapping and hurting her. But she always screamed the loudest in her dream when Raleigh showed up. The next one she wrote was the rogue wolves. She was especially thankful she didn’t have to travel to their trials that would take place elsewhere. When it came time to do Nick’s or Sophia’s, she didn’t know which one to do first. Reliving all
Emily It had been a few days since the night June met Samuel. Emily was thrilled for her, she had found her mate. And he couldn’t have been a nicer guy. They went so well together she could tell already. But June still had to leave….she had to go back to the home pack with Emily’s dad. She would return soon though and stay a couple weeks. Just like Emily had done herself when she first met Nick. She didn’t know what it was, maybe the mate bond disappearing more every day but she had been pretty emotional as of late. She knew she did the right thing. But that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. Every time she convinced herself it was for the best, she would have some memory of her and Nick’s early days together… then she would get sad all over again. She fully expected these feelings to disappear eventually though. At least, she hoped. She also hoped the lingering pain in her body would disappear. She still wasn’t fully healed. But Dr. Pavarti told her nearly all the traces of foreign ch
EmilyLater on that night, Emily sat with Juniper, telling her everything that went down with Nick. She had already told everyone what she did, she just didn’t give them details. Her dad and June were going to be leaving soon. She dreaded that severely. Having June here kept her mind of missing Charlotte as much. When she finished telling her everything June smiled and took her hand. “You’re free now Emily. You can go where you want… be with who you want…..” she winked. Emily laughed at her. “Your reason for being mated with Nick in the first place.. has been achieved. You did what you were meant to… it’s over with now.” Emily felt tears come to her eyes. Juniper strongly believed the reason she and Nicklaus had to mate first was because she had to take down Sophia and Susan. And the reign they had over the pack. She had to admit.. she wondered too. So many times she thought there had been a mistake made.. but who knew the way these things worked. Samuel was coming over to do
Emily. A few more weeks had gone by and Emily was feeling much better, much stronger, and more like herself. Dr. Pavarti still insisted she not overdo herself. No exertion… and no stress we’re allowed. But she could get out of the cabin. She could go places and do things. She still couldn’t shift but it wouldn’t be much longer now. Lorenzo had left again. He’d gone back to his pack. Emily hated it. She spent three days in bed and crying until she told herself she was being ridiculous and her children needed her. They had one parent left.. and that was it. The trials would begin soon. And there was something she had to do. She had to get this one thing off her chest… she couldn’t wait any longer. So she got dressed.. dropped the kids off at school, then went by to see Ellis. She told him what she needed and he made it happen. A few minutes later she was sitting in one of the office rooms in the pack house. A guard walked in, pulling someone behind him that was shackled. Nick.
Emily She and Juniper had both sat and stared at the feather for what seemed like hours. They’d look at each other, completely confused…. then go back to staring at that feather. They both watched it as if it would sprout legs and come alive at any second. How had it happened? Where had it come from? Emily couldn’t believe it. But she also knew .. it was from Charlotte. How it had gotten there… she had no clue. Even Juniper who was all about facts and studies and science could not think of one plausible explanation. She kept the feather underneath her pillow after that. The following day Emily told Pam she was ready. She held on to Charlotte’s feather for strength. Just as she had feared.. Pam used the words sexual assault.. and just as Emily had thought it might… all the memories came rushing back. It took her several minutes to calm down. She cried.. Pam cried too. Pam held her. Emily screamed… remembering Nick kicking her. Remembering him punching her, and how she’d brok
Emily It had been about three weeks since she woke up in the hospital bed. Everyone had been in her room. Brian and Maeve, Alan, June, her dad, and of course Lorenzo. They’d all started talking at once…. fussing and fawning over her, asking her a million questions. Someone had gone and gotten the doctor and he made everyone leave while he checked her out. She had finally started healing herself.. he told her. But it wouldn’t be fast. It would take alot of time due to the severity of her injuries. He asked her what she remembered. And at that moment… her answer was nothing. She knew it was bad but she didn’t know what had happened. Dr. Pavarti told her that her mind was protecting her. That if it all came back at once it might be too much. “So don’t push yourself. Just let it come.” He had said. Then he wanted to do X-rays and and cat scans and MRIs and stress tests and take her blood and get her vitals and a million other things. So that’s what he did. He asked everyone to
