Cassius’ Point of View

I winced when I fell on the ground, but I tried to ignore the pain in my back and stomach in favor of checking the girl I was holding in my arms, even though I’m pretty sure she’s not as hurt as I am.

“Sera. Are you alright?”

Her face twisted into a grimace, probably in surprise rather than hurt, and managed to nod. I helped her stand up while looking around for any arrow that might be flying in our direction. There were lots of arrows, but they weren't aimed at us. The Generals, Elders, and my parents were fighting with people who appeared out of nowhere. Some of them are in wolf form too.

I saw George hiding inside the wagon while Seraphine’s parents were hiding behind the wagon, where the three prisoners were lying unconscious. Seraphine told me that her parents are not great duelists, and their strength lies in their minds instead. So despite holding respective daggers to protect themselves, they chose to hide instead.

“Come on! Let’s hide behind th

Seraphine’s Point of ViewThe Bloodmoon Pack’s town was just a kilometer away from where the fight occurred, so it didn’t take us that long to arrive there. All the remaining members of their pack were tied up and sedated to sleep, and the Generals put them in the wagon where the other three were currently unconscious. It was quite terrifying to enter the lion’s den who had planned to abduct me and my parents months ago for their own nefarious plot. But having the Alpha and Luna with us makes it comforting as well, because they radiate safety even from a distance. Cassius helped a lot as well, with his steady presence that was always either behind me, or beside me. Even George’s impassive look was comforting. Any semblance of familiarity is enough to comfort me right now.“Who are you?” The man guarding the gate asked, his eyebrows furrowed deeply as he scanned us with narrowed eyes.“Tell your Alpha and Luna that the Silvercrest Pack’s Alpha and Luna are here, along with some Council

Seraphine's Point of View“What a miracle to see you alone. Where’s my brother?”“With your parents,” I responded without glancing in George’s direction. I labeled the vials ‘adults’ and ‘children’ respectively, and set the basket aside. “Why? Do you need anything?”“Can’t I talk to you without needing anything?”I merely raised an eyebrow at him. He let out a put-upon sigh. “Fine. I’m bored with all the adult talk. I’ve heard too much for a lifetime already.”“What did they talk about?”George groaned. “I went to you to talk about other things because I had enough with the adults, and you’re asking me what they were talking about? Just tell me to leave, Wildfrost.”I chuckled. “I’m just kidding.”“Can you really find a cure?” He asked all of a sudden. “Don’t you have the cyaxin antidote project going on?”“We’ll prioritize this one since the poisoning had stopped when Ronan and his accomplice were caught,” I answered. “Vaccines will be easy to make, the cure is the difficult part, so

Seraphine’s Point of ViewI sighed for the nth time, turning sideways on my bed and looking at nowhere. It’s been four days since we returned home, and four days since the public execution for the Luna happened. Alpha Desmond had been stripped of his place in the Council and had been banished to the rogue wolves. It turns out, they’ve been plotting behind our backs while they have shown in front of us how agreeable they are to everything that Alpha Eros and Luna Eunice were saying. It’s another betrayal from them, so our leaders didn’t hesitate to punish them accordingly. When they learned of what Luna Margaux did to me, they decided for a public execution. Alpha Desmond was banished to the rogue wolves because he tried to fight us one more time. She was supposed to have the same punishment as her husband, but General Van informed us that Luna Margaux had attacked him from behind, which almost cost him his life if it weren’t for his fast instinct. He just got knocked off when he thre

Seraphine’s Point of View“Why are you still here?” I asked Cassius, who followed me inside my room. He closed the door, but did not lock it. He wordlessly strode towards my bed and laid beside me, wrapping his arms around me. My eyes widened in surprise, and my cheeks felt warm over his sudden clinginess.“What are you doing? If my parents see us like this, they’ll think we’re dating!”Cassius scoffed. “Let them think what they want.” He said, then he buried his face in my neck. I raised an eyebrow even though he wouldn’t see it. “Seriously, what’s gotten into you, Cassius?”He didn’t respond immediately, and I let him take his time to answer. Minutes had passed, and yet he only tightened his hold on me.When I thought he wouldn’t answer, I was about to change the topic, but then he beat me to it.“I just... missed you.”I frowned, giving him a sideways glance to show my confusion. “We were with each other for the whole duration of our trip and when we were at the Bloodmoon Pack. Seraphine’s Point of ViewMy plan came to a halt when, a week later, Cassius was tested positive for the unknown disease plaguing the Bloodmoon Pack. I felt my whole world crumble into pieces when Luster delivered the news to me, his face the picture of devastation. I hurried to the Homestead to find out if Luster is just making fun of me or not, only to learn from the Alpha and Luna themselves that Cassius is indeed positive. And we haven’t found the cure yet.So for the past two weeks since finding out Cassius has been infected by the disease, my parents and I have worked endlessly to make a vaccine and find out a cure. The Bloodmoon Pack’s Healer only had a few notes about the disease; the symptoms are one of them, which is how my parents found out about it when Luna Eunice asked them to check her youngest son because he'd been feeling rather ill for quite some time, and that fucking idiot just hid it so well that no one notice— not even me.So I devoured all the books I'd gotten

  • The Luna from the Future   Chapter 76

Cassius’ Point of ViewI’ve never felt as isolated in my entire life as I have during the past six weeks. Staying inside my room with only my books as company as well as my friends and family for half an hour was boring and... lonely.Had I known I’d caught the disease, I wouldn’t have hidden it from them. It turns out the virus had spread throughout my body until I couldn’t hide the symptoms anymore. It’s one of the things I regret the most. I thought it was just a simple flu. I never thought I’d actually caught the disease because I have a strong immune system, as far as I know. Now, I have stirred quite a lot of chaos among the pack— especially to my family and friends. The Wildfrost family had worked nonstop to find a cure before this disease killed me, but when I saw Cecil and Daniel’s state when they came to visit me, my heart broke and guilt had eaten me up.They looked so... stressed and restless. They haven’t got a proper rest since the day they confirmed me positive. When

Seraphine’s Point of View“I DID IT! I FOUND THE CURE!” I yelled as soon as I barged inside Cassius’ room, panting heavily as I stopped in front of the bed.“Mom! Dad! What are you waiting for? Make him drink this!” I exclaimed, showing the vial of the cure I managed to brew. Neither of them moved to get it from me, still hugging each other tightly.I looked around the room and saw the Alpha and Luna kneeling beside Cassius’ bed, Luster and Leilani on the other side, crying together. Dread filled my system as I looked at Cassius’ sleeping form.“No...” I mumbled, approaching Cassius’ bed. I ignored everyone’s words telling me to put on the safety clothes first. I stopped in front of Cassius, sitting just beside him. I uncorked the vial, held Cassius’ jaw and forced him to drink it. After that, I pulled a syringe out of my pocket and located the veins in his hands. I injected more of the cure into it, then I held his wrist where his pulse was located. No pulse.I shook my head vehement

Seraphine’s Point of View“— UP!”I abruptly woke up, falling into a coughing fit as I accidentally drank a bit of water.Water...?“— you alright?”I opened my eyes and was welcomed by George’s worried face peering down at me while holding a bucket. I looked down, seeing the quilt I was using was wet, as well as my shirt and the bed. “Did—” I coughed again. “— you just wake me up by splashing a bucket of water on my face?”He breathed out, looking relieved. “You weren’t waking up when I was shaking and slapping you, so I had to think of other ways. That was the most effective one I could come up with. Besides, it was only half a bucket.”I threw him one of the wet pillows. “As if that’s any better, George Forester-Silverton!”He just shrugged.I sighed, looking at the windows. It’s still quite dark, though seeing the faint light mixed with it I’m pretty sure it’s nearly morning.“Sleep more, Sera. You only slept for two hours.”“I will only have nightmares about Cassius,” I mumbled.

Seraphine’s Point of View“Do you play this kind of game?” I shook my head. “I played hide and seek and other chasing games with the kids back in our previous village, but not any ball games.”Josiah smiled charmingly at me. If I wasn’t so in love with Cassius, and if I didn’t know him from our previous life, I would probably fall for his charm.“Do you like playing tiring games?”Despite being cautious of these guys, I still tried my best to be polite and friendly with them. So to avoid being miserable the whole time I spend with them, I might as well try to enjoy it.Smiling, I nodded. “I prefer it to mind games.”Josiah laughed heartily, throwing his head back. “Who the fuck even likes mind games?”“That guy over there,” I responded at the same time someone behind me said. “Maximus, that swot.”I turned around to see who it was.Augustus Ferrell. The youngest son of the Ferrells, who were members of the Council and Circle. An old family too in this town, so they’re well known in t

Seraphine’s Point of View“I can’t believe we’ll find out about our mates next year,” Leilani mumbled beside me as she sipped her grape juice. “We just met our wolf last year! How time flies so fast.”“It’s been just a few weeks since New Year, Leil,” I said.“Am I wrong? It’s still last year!”I shook my head, not bothering to counter her words.“I don’t want to be eighteen yet...”I turned to Leilani, eyes wide in surprise. “What? I thought you were looking forward to meeting your mate?”“That was before Luster confessed to me,” she flashed a wistful smile. “I wanted him as my mate. I’ve liked him for so long, Sera. I thought I liked Clove, but Luster’s just different.”“Are you afraid that Luster isn’t your mate?”She nodded. My heart clenched at the thought that they really weren’t mates. But... she could still reject her mate. I feel so bad thinking about it, but Leilani and Luster are my friends. I want them to be happy.“I don’t want to reject whoever my mate will be. I can’t d

Seraphine’s Point of View“Are you an enemy... or an ally?”George blinked his eyes multiple times before he burst into laughter. “What are you talking about, Sera?” He asked after he recovered from his laughter.I raised an eyebrow as I crossed my arms on my chest. “Cut the act, George. My wolf is smart, and I know your wolf is aware of it too, that's why you didn’t attend my birthday celebration yesterday.”I just realised it right now as well. For the past few birthdays I had, George is always present. Aiah also told me that George wasn’t really sick. Wolves can smell that. So the only probable reason why he didn’t attend my celebration is because his wolf had told him about my wolf. It seemed his wolf had recognised my scent, I just didn’t know how they knew it was me.He was avoiding meeting me because he knew I’d found out about him being a time-traveler.George paled, but he quickly masked it by chuckling and shaking his head. Unfortunately for him, he’s obviously nervous. “I

Cassius’ Point of ViewSomething changed in the air between my brother and Seraphine, but I couldn’t determine what it was. I just know something shifted the day Seraphine went to the Homestead with me, looking for George. She came to my room after talking with my brother, looking dazed and rather distracted. They became closer, for some reason. They don’t hang out as often as we do but Seraphine would visit him in his room before she visits me when she comes to the Homestead. She hasn’t done that before. It sparked the burning jealousy inside my chest. I don’t like feeling this way, but I couldn’t help it.Especially because my confession plan for Seraphine’s birthday was a massive failure.First, the banner I made was destroyed when I spilled my coffee on it the morning of her birthday. I wasn’t able to redo it again, so I decided not to do it anymore. So I focused on baking a cake for her— chocolate truffle cake. Daniel taught me how to do this when I visited their house. I didn’

Seraphine’s Point of View ‘I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.’ I put the book I’m trying to read down on the table, groaning at my wolf’s incessant rant in our mind link. ‘Stop it, Aiah. You’re giving me a headache.’ ‘Because I hate it, Sera! He doesn’t remember you at all! That just means Azi doesn’t remember me either!’ I sighed, feeling bad for my wolf. ‘I’m sorry, Aiah.’ ‘It’s not your fault. It’s that stupid Maximus and Jax’s fault! They’re the reason why our mates don’t remember us anymore! Why we have to suffer these one-sided memories!’ ‘It will be alright in time, Aiah. There’s a lot of time for you to get closer with Azi. Don’t let the past ruin your chances of being with your mate again. Just do what I did, alright? I’ll help you, Aiah.’ My wolf seemed to calm down at that, though I could still hear her growling in displeasure and anger. At least she stopped her whining, because I couldn’t focus on what I was reading. Aiah got to meet Cassius yesterd

  • The Luna from the Future   Chapter 84

Seraphine’s Point of ViewTwenty fucking minutes.I still have to wait for twenty minutes before my birthday comes. Twenty more minutes before I meet Aiah again.Just like in my first life, I wasn’t able to sleep properly as I waited for my birthday to come. It’s like the first time all over again. But can anyone blame me? Meeting one’s wolf is one of the most important events in our lives. The memories and feelings during that moment your wolf manifested are something no one can forget anytime soon.“Sweetie, will you sit down here and drink your tea before I tie you on the chair?”I pouted at my mother. But before I could respond, dad came to my rescue.“Let the child feel excited, Cecil. You’ve been in her place once. Surely, you’d remember the restless excitement everyone feels while waiting for their birthday.”I nodded in agreement while mom glared at the two of us. “Fine, but don’t do that in front of me. I’m getting dizzy from all your back and forth.”Saluting my mother, I he

Seraphine’s Point of View“Welcome back!” I smiled while watching Cassius as he was greeted and welcomed warmly by our classmates. It only faded when I noticed most of the girls taking the opportunity to cling to him.My brows furrowed, lips pursing in displeasure. These opportunistic, two-faced girls! “What got you frowning so early in the morning?”I didn’t deign an answer to Luster’s question. I just slumped on my seat, closing my eyes. I could feel him and Leilani exchanging glances, and I knew for sure they were talking again using their eyes.Cassius wasn’t supposed to attend classes again until next week, but he told his parents he felt like he'd already lost so much time. And also because he’d be bored to death if he stayed alone at home for another week. I started attending classes again a week after Cassius woke up. I visited him two hours before I went to school— which means I woke early— and after class until before dinner. His mother cried when she heard the word ‘death

Seraphine’s Point of ViewThe hidden falls was something that I didn’t want to share with my other friends, even though Luster and Cassius knew about it. I only showed it to Leilani so she knew about its existence, but I didn’t want to hang out with them there. The lake is our preferable place to hang out.For me, I feel sentimental about this place because Maximus and I reconciled here years ago. We rarely come here, but when we do, it’s always memorable.“Let’s go up there,” I said, pointing at the humongous rock. Maximus nodded and he went there first, helping me as I climbed up. “Go there at the other rock,” I told him.His brows furrowed in confusion. “What? Why?”I sat down and pulled the painting materials out of the paper bag. “I’m going to paint you.”His jaw dropped, a look of utter surprise on his face as he looked at the materials I was holding. “I... I didn’t know you could paint.”I shrugged. “Because I never told you about it. I rarely do these, so you should feel hono

Seraphine’s Point of ViewI don’t know how long I was staring at the moon from the balcony of my room. I just came here to clear my mind, but the moon above caught my attention and I couldn’t keep my eyes away from it anymore.Lady Selene... are you watching over me? Can you see what I’ve done to the timeline? I couldn’t recognise it anymore because of all the changes I brought. If you’re watching me right now, I hope you could at least give me a hint if I’m doing things right...But no, she’s not allowed to do that even if she wants to. I huffed softly. I miss Aiah. I’m so excited to meet her again. If she still remembers our first life, I hope she’s happy that Azi remained the same. Though she might get annoyed at the fact Cassius considered another name for his wolf.I can already imagine her non-stop admonishment. I used to get so annoyed at her whenever she did that before, but I just miss it so much right now.“Raph.”I turned around to face Maximus. When did he enter my room?
