Chapter Fifty - Six

Surprise:

“How far am I..what?” Nora asked, repeating what Polly had just said but her hand instinctively going to her stomach.

“How far are you along…with child?” Polly asked, her voice low just above a whisper.

“With child.” Nora repeated again, she could feel the acid crawling up her throat as her chest felt like it was going to collapse on her.

“You are pregnant right? The smells? The vomiting.” Polly asked, reaching over and pointing to Nora’s stomach.

“I..I..I don't know.” Nora whispered as fear spread through her.

"How long ago was your heat?" Polly asked her, still talking quietly.

Nora sunk down onto the bed. if she was pregnant she had now put her unborn child in danger. It was fine when it was just her life. she could feel the color drain from her face. she wasn't far along maybe six weeks she thought to herself doing the math.

" Don't worry, I won't say anything….but you're going to have to think of something. you won't be able to hide it forever." Polly said quietly.
