ANNA
As I arrived at Rossi's Mansion, I couldn't help but marvel at the sight of wealthy families from various clans, all elegantly dressed in their evening attire. Unfortunately, I couldn't say the same for myself. My clothes were old and shabby, hand-me-downs from my mother, and I couldn't afford to purchase new ones. Thankfully, the head of the servants had provided me with a maid's uniform, which helped conceal my ragged appearance.
Although I had seen the exterior of Rossi's Mansion on several occasions, I had never set foot inside until today. To say that I was awestruck by its grandeur would be an understatement. The mansion was nothing short of a seven-star hotel, with exquisite granite tiles that even reflected my own image.
As I entered the restroom, I was taken aback by its size. It was larger than my entire room! I couldn't help but realize the power of money and the impact it could have on one's life.
Just then, Rizza, a kind servant, called out to me, "Anna, have you finished cooking the pasta? Please help me here. The guests are requesting more brandy."
"Absolutely," I replied, nodding my head. "I'm just curious. I want to know more about this event."
Rizza smiled warmly at me, sensing my unease. "Don't worry, Anna. I was scared too during my first time. But you'll get used to it. Just be yourself, and everything will be fine."
Together, we arranged the drinks on the tray and headed outside. As we walked through the grand ballroom, I couldn't help but feel intimidated by the sight of wealthy guests mingling and socializing.
Curious, I turned to Rizza and asked, "What is the occasion for this event?"
To my surprise, Rizza looked at me incredulously. "Are you serious?" she asked, scrutinizing me from head to toe. "Did you really come here without knowing what kind of event you were going to serve? Are you sure you're from the Black Pearl's Pack?"
I furrowed my brows, realizing that I had forgotten about the engagement of the Lycan Prince and his mate. I wasn't really interested in their affairs, and it had completely slipped my mind. "Oh, right. I remember now. The engagement of the Lycan Prince and his mate. The party looks absolutely extravagant," I said, glancing at the festivities outside.
Rizza gave me a disapproving look. "Anna, how could you forget such an important event? Are you a cavewoman or what? Make sure no one hears you talking like that, or you might get into trouble."
I laughed it off, shrugging my shoulders. "I was just curious. I wasn't really paying attention to the details. Will the Lycan King step down on his throne since it was his son's engagement today?"
Rizza went on to explain, "No idea. But once the Lycan Prince and his mate get married, he will become the next king of the Black Pearl Pack."
I shrugged my shoulders.
"But you know what, Anna? Most of the housemaids here don't like the Lycan Prince's mate,"
I chuckled at Rizza's words, but I wasn't particularly interested in discussing the Lycan Prince's mate. "Well, I don't really care about her personal life. Let's just focus on our job for now," I said.
Rizza, however, seemed to have more to say. "It's not just the housemaids who dislike her. Almost everyone does. She's such a terrible person, always looking down on others and thinking her wealth can buy her anything. Just pray that you won't run into her today, Anna. She might get jealous of your beauty."
I gasped in disbelief. "That's ridiculous, Rizza. I'm sure the Lycan Prince's mate is a beautiful woman. And there's really nothing to be jealous of in me," I said, trying to brush off the compliment.
Rizza let out a sigh. "Well, I just hope she won't cause any trouble today. I can't stand the sight of that woman's face."
I smiled and changed the subject. "Let's just focus on our task at hand. We should deliver these drinks to the guests. I'm sure they're looking for a good drink right now."
Rizza and I are walking towards the backdoor of the dirty kitchen. It's a bit dark here. I shrieked when someone bumped me. Things happened too fast, and the next thing I knew the alcohol drinks had already been poured and fallen on the ground.
"Aaahhh!" I screamed in terror.
"What the fuck–?!" It's a woman's voice.
"Oh my goodness! Did you just pour that drink on my gown?!" My vision isn't yet adjusting to the darkness.
But then I can feel Rizza is shivering beside me. "Fuck, Anna!"
My eyebrows drew together. Why does Rizza seem so scared?
"Anna, let's get out of here! She's the Lycan Prince mate! The bitch I'm telling you!" There's a warning in Rizza's tone.
I gasped. My mind started to think quickly. I kneeled and picked up the glass shots. "I'm so sorry, ma'am. I didn't notice you. Please accept my apologies,"
The woman is so mad. "Apologies? Do you know what you are talking about? You mess up my gown! Do you have any idea how much this cost? It's even more expensive than your life! This cost thirty thousand dollars!" She shouted in my face.
My eyes dilated and my heart started to beat so damn fast. I never feel this nervous.
"I-I'm so sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to–”
"I don't need your sorry!" She grabbed my hair and forced me to go back to the kitchen. She dragged me there using my hair.
I ached in pain while stopping her to drag my hair. My scalp is starting to feel burnt due to her grip. "P-Please, ma'am! I... I will just pay for your gown!"
The woman pushed me onto the sink counter. This time, we can see each other more clearly.
She scanned me from head to toe. I can't read what's written in her mind. "Pay me? How could you pay me if you're just a poor servant? Even if you work until the last breath of your life, you can't pay for my gown. Now, tell me what to do?" There's a fire in her eyes.
"T-The gown is not destroyed, ma'am. I just got soaked by the alcohol. I could wash it for you, ma'am. Please forgive me,"
The woman let out a scoff. "Wash it? Do you think I have the time to wait for your laundry skills?" She then turned her attention to Rizza. "And you! Why did you bring this incompetent girl with you? You know that we only want the best service in this party!"
Rizza trembled in fear. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't know that Anna would make a mistake. I'll make sure that this won't happen again," she pleaded.
“Please, ma’am, no—”
I saw Rizza running and calling for help. I feel more nervous now that I'm alone with this woman!
"How dare you answer me? You have no right! You're going to wash my gown? Huh. There's no way I will let a dirty low woman like you touch my things! Now, take this!" I wasn't prepared for her attack. She slapped me on my cheeks.
"Ahh!"
"Take this bitch! You ugly servant!" The woman isn't content and she grabs my hair once more and forces me to face the sink.
My tears are unstoppable. Why are rich families like this? Why can't they accept apologies? Why do they have to belittle someone and hurt them?
Trembling, I tried to break free from her grip, but it was no use. I could feel her hot breath on my neck. "Please, ma'am, I'm begging you. Let me go," I pleaded, my voice cracking with fear and pain.
But the woman just sneered at me. "You think begging will save you? You're nothing but a lowly servant. You don't deserve to be in my presence." And with that, she pushed my head into the sink and turned on the faucet.
Cold water gushed out, soaking my hair and face. I coughed and gasped for air, struggling to keep my head above water. The woman continued to hold me down, enjoying my suffering.
"P-Please, stop hurting me...!" I begged.
I heard her evil laugh. "Stop hurting you? No. I'm not going to stop. I'm just starting!"
"Please...!"
"Darlyn!" I heard a strong baritone male voice.
The woman was about to hit me but her hands stopped in the air. Her body froze as she looked back.
"What the hell are you doing, Darlyn? Seriously, hurting a servant?! How low can you get?"
So, this woman's name is Darlyn. I got the opportunity to move away from her. And there, I saw a handsome man.
A tall man with brownish hair and amber eyes. I held my breath! I feel an enormous volt run through my veins. I feel my stomach about to turn up.
My hands grew paler by the second, and my forehead was slick with sweat. My heart pounded so hard and fast that I felt like I might pass out. I couldn't tear my eyes away from him. Dante Rossi, the son of the Lycan King. This was my first time seeing him up close, and he was the very image of perfection. But I didn't like what was happening to me. I was afraid that everyone could hear my heart pounding like a drum.
Suddenly, Darlyn burst into tears and clung to Dante's arm like a professional actress. "D-Dante! That servant hurt me! Look at my dress, she spilled her drink on me!" She pouted her lips, playing the part to the hilt.
My mouth opened, but no words came out. I couldn't even defend myself.
"Shut up, Darlyn! I saw everything. Do you think I'm stupid? I'm not blind! I saw how you hurt her! How could you hurt someone, Darlyn?" Dante's voice was firm and unwavering, his eyes blazing with anger.
To my surprise, the Lycan Prince didn't scold me for the incident. Darlyn appeared equally shocked. "Look at what she did to my gown!" she exclaimed.
"And to hell with your gown! That doesn't give you the right to hurt someone!" Dante retorted, his voice firm and unwavering.
"Dante..." the woman began to cry.
"Go and say sorry to her," he demanded.
I bit my lower lip. "L-Lycan Prince, she... she doesn't have to do that. It's my fault," I said in a humble tone.
He gave me a concerned look. "Whether it's your fault or not, Darlyn has no right to hurt you. Now, Darlyn, say sorry to her."
I could see anger fueling her eyes. "No! Why would I say sorry to a servant? I'm Darlyn Taylor! And she's nothing but a servant!" the woman gritted her teeth and stormed out.
I expected the Lycan Prince to follow Darlyn, but he approached me instead. My heart felt like it might burst from my chest at any moment. He cleared his throat. "I'm sorry for what Darlyn did to you. I apologize on her behalf," he said.
"It's okay, Lycan Prince," I stammered, feeling nervous under his gaze.
He stared at my face, and suddenly it felt like our world had stopped spinning. His hands touched my cheeks, and a million electric bolts surged through my body. "Your face is swollen. Damn Darlyn. I'm so sorry," he said with a deep sense of concern.
I didn't know what to say or how to react. I was simply staring at Dante's stunning face.
"What's your name?" he asked softly.
"Anna White," I whispered.
The Lycan Prince smiled at me. "Anna," he said, and at that moment, I felt a connection between us. But how could that be? He had a fated mate already, and I was just a rankless wolf.
Moreover, he was expected to become the next Lycan King, while I was just a lowly servant!

ANNA I can feel his gaze following me as I leave, and I try to ignore it. But it's impossible not to feel the pull between us. I know I shouldn't be thinking about him this way. Dante is a Lycan Prince, and I'm just a rankless wolf and servant. He's engaged to the woman earlier, Darlyn, the daughter of Leonora, the female alpha of the Red River Pack. And even though I feel this strange connection to him, I know I have to keep my distance. But it's hard when his eyes seem to burn into me, and his palms on my shoulder send shivers down my spine. I want to try to focus on my duties, but my mind keeps wandering to Dante. I can't help but wonder what it would be like to be with him, to feel his lips on mine, to be his fated mate. But I can't allow myself to think like that. It's not possible. He's already engaged to someone else, and I'm just a rankless wolf, worse than being an omega. I have no place in his world. “Look, if you’re hurt, I can treat the scratch in your face…” I shouldn
ANNA The next day, I woke up early and started my day as a servant in the Chad household. The work was never easy, but it was a means to earn my keep. As I made my way to the house, I couldn't help but feel the chill of the morning air. It was then that I saw him - Nico, my childhood friend here in the Black Pearl Pack. He’s the only friend I had. Nico was always a good-looking guy, with a kind and gentle soul. We were the same age, and I had grown up with him in the pack. He saw me and ran towards me, his arms open wide. He hugged me tight, and I felt my heart skip a beat. It had been so long since I had seen him. I couldn't help but feel my heart race as Nico hugged me tightly. It had been so long since I'd seen him, and I couldn't deny the fact that I missed him too. But I couldn't let him see the pain that I was going through. “Hey, pumpkin. How are you? I missed you so much,” He said, there’s a longing in his eyes. I tried to smile. “I’m fine, Nico. I missed you too. I can’t
ANNA I walked into my home, feeling happy and content after my date with Nico. However, my happiness was short-lived as my mother Estella appeared out of nowhere and grabbed me by my hair. I cried out in pain as my mother pulled my hair, and I struggled to break free from her grasp. “Mother, stop! It’s painful! Did I do something wrong? Why are you hurting me?” But Estella's response left me speechless. "You're a manwhore and a flirt, Anna!" my mother said with disgust. "You don't have any right to date a guy, you can’t have a mate! Bear that in your brainless mind!” I was taken aback by my mother's words. I couldn't understand why my mother was so angry and why I wasn't allowed to have a mate. I am already 18. Other she-wolves the same age as me already found their wolf. I tried to explain to my mother that Nico was just my best friend, but my mother didn't believe me. "You can't fool me, Anna!” Estella said. "I saw you with him, and I know what you're up to." I couldn't believe
Dante couldn't stop thinking about Anna, his wolf. The way she made him feel was something he had never experienced before. He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Dante knew he had to find a way to break up his engagement with Darlyn. He didn't love her, and he knew that he could never be happy with anyone else but Anna. He was willing to do whatever it takes to be with her.He couldn't shake off the memory of Anna from his mind. Despite being engaged to Darlyn, his thoughts kept drifting towards the girl who stole his heart at the party. He didn't even know her, but he felt like he had known her for a lifetime. He had tried to forget her, but every time he closed his eyes, her face appeared before him. It was like he was under some spell, and he couldn't break free from it. Dante found himself dreaming about Anna almost every night. In his dreams, they were always together, walking through the forest, talking about everything and nothing. Her laughter echoed in his ears, and h
ANNA Weeks later Dante had always known that Anna was the woman for him, ever since the day he met her. He was not one to give up easily. He was determined to be a part of Anna's life, no matter what it took. So when Dante found himself standing outside Anna's house, he knew that he had to take the chance to see her. He had heard rumors that her family life was not the best, but he had never imagined what he was about to witness. As he stood outside the house, Dante heard a commotion coming from inside. He could hear Anna's mother yelling and screaming, and he could hear the sound of something hitting the walls. Dante's heart raced with fear as he wondered what was happening. Suddenly, the front door burst open, and Dante saw Anna stumble out of the house, her face bruised and bloodied. Dante swallowed his saliva, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing right now! Dante was horrified at the sight of Anna's injuries, and he felt a surge of anger towards her parents for hurting her.
ANNAThe next dayDante and Anna stood outside his house, both admiring the beautiful structure in front of them. It was a grand mansion with tall pillars and a large garden surrounding it. Anna couldn't help but feel nervous as they walked up the steps and into the house. She had never been to Dante's house before and she didn't know what to expect.Dante led Anna through the front door and into a large hallway. The walls were painted a light shade of blue and there were several paintings hanging on them. Dante took Anna's hand and led her through the hallway and into a large living room. The room was spacious and filled with comfortable-looking furniture. There was a large fireplace in the center of the room and a piano in the corner."This is my house," Dante said, looking around the room. "I had it built a few years ago.""It's beautiful," Anna said, still taking in her surroundings.Dante smiled at her and led her over to the couch. They sat down and Dante put his arm around her.
ANNAAs I lay in bed next to Dante, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the wonderful man lying beside me. It had been a whirlwind romance, and yet it felt like we had known each other our entire lives. We had been inseparable from the moment we met, and our love for each other had only grown stronger with time.Dante was everything I had ever wanted in a partner. He was kind, compassionate, and always put my needs before his own. He made me feel loved and cherished in a way that no one else ever had, and I knew deep down that we were meant to be together. As I gazed at him, watching the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he slept peacefully, I felt a surge of affection for him. I couldn't help but smile as I thought back to all the sweet and romantic moments we had shared together.I remembered the time we had spent hours lying in the grass, staring up at the stars and talking about our hopes and dreams. I remembered the way he had held my hand tightly as we wal
Donovan Rossi, the Lycan King of the Black Pearl Pack, was fuming. He paced back and forth in his private room, his mind consumed with anger and disappointment. He couldn't believe that his only son, Dante, had chosen to mate with Anna, a rankless wolf with no status or power within the pack.As a powerful dictator, Donovan had always believed in the importance of rank and status. He had worked tirelessly to maintain the pack's social hierarchy, and he couldn't accept that his own son would choose to be with someone who had no rank or power.Dante had always been a rebellious child, but Donovan had never expected him to go this far. The idea of Anna becoming the future Lycan Queen was unthinkable to him. How could he allow someone like her to rule beside his son and potentially threaten the pack's stability?Donovan knew that he had to do something. He couldn't let his son's foolish decision stand. He had to find a way to break them apart before it was too late. But for now, he had to
DANTEThe weight of worry sat heavily on my shoulders as I stood there, my gaze fixed on the empty space that Lyza should have occupied. The minutes ticked by with excruciating slowness, each second intensifying my concern for her safety. It was as if the walls of the room were closing in on me, suffocating me with the uncertainty of her whereabouts. But between my frantic thoughts, a familiar voice cut through the haze of anxiety. Leonora Taylor, a respected figure within the pack, had arrived on time. Her concern was evident in the lines etched across her aged face."Dante, is it true? Lyza is missing?" Her voice held a mixture of worry and empathy, her eyes reflecting the genuine concern she felt for both Lyza and me.I offered her a tight-lipped nod, my voice carrying a heaviness that mirrored the turmoil within me. "Thanks for the concern, Leonora. But yes, she's missing. She didn't show up."The kindness in Leonora's gaze softened her features as she stepped closer. "I'll help y
LYZA “I know I owe you an explanation, my daughter, Anna,” Estella smirked at me. Daughter? What? A wave of emotions crashed over me – disbelief, anger, and a deep-seated ache that I couldn't quite place. The very core of who I believed myself to be was unraveling before my eyes. "I'm not Anna! I’m not your daughter! I'm Lyza Pressman!" I protested, my voice quivering with a mix of frustration and confusion. Estella's eyes bore into mine, an unsettling mixture of triumph and malice dancing within them. "No matter what you say, Lyza. I knew it. You can't lie to me. I know it's you, my always good daughter, Anna!" My fists clenched, nails digging into my palms as her taunts grated against my already frayed nerves. "Stop talking too much! And tell me the fuck you want!" I shouted, the words escaping my lips before I could even fully process them. She chuckled, seemingly unfazed by my outburst. "Well, you are right. But since I'm too generous, I will tell you the truth about yourself
LYZAI struggled against the restraints, my heart pounding in my chest as Estella's anger escalated. The fear and confusion were etched across my face as I desperately tried to make them understand that I had no knowledge of what they were accusing me of. But their relentless pursuit for answers pushed them further into darkness.Estella's grip tightened on my hair, yanking my head backward. The cold, hard drum pressed against the back of my skull, causing chills to run down my spine. My eyes widened in terror as I realized what they intended to do.The room fell silent, save for the sound of water dripping rhythmically onto the drum's surface. The tension in the air was suffocating, each passing second feeling like an eternity. Estella's cold eyes bore into mine, demanding a response that I couldn't provide."Speak, Lyza!" she hissed through clenched teeth, her voice dripping with venom. "Tell us what we want to know, or this drum will become your worst nightmare! Don’t make me mad,
DANTEI paced back and forth in the office, my eyes constantly glancing at the wall clock as each minute ticked by with agonizing slowness. Lyza was never late, let alone two hours late for an important meeting like this. Something wasn't right, and my worry grew with each passing moment.I tried to convince myself to stay calm, to trust that there must be a reasonable explanation for her absence. Perhaps there was an unexpected complication, a delay beyond her control. But the nagging sense of unease gnawed at me, refusing to be silenced by logic.I reached for my phone, my hands trembling slightly as I dialed Lyza's number. The sound of the dial tone seemed to mock me, a constant reminder of the unanswered call. I tried again, hoping for a different outcome, but the result remained the same—her phone was out of coverage. My mind raced with countless possibilities, each one more troubling than the last. What if something terrible had happened to her? What if she was in danger and una
LYZAThe door creaked open, revealing the silhouette of Philip, a chill ran down my spine. His face twisted into a sinister grin, his eyes gleaming with a malevolence that sent shivers through my already shaken form. He was the embodiment of a wicked antagonist, straight out of a nightmare.I strained to articulate my words, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and fear, but Philip merely chuckled, relishing in his cruel game. He taunted me, claiming he couldn't comprehend my muffled pleas. His laughter grated on my nerves, a twisted melody that underscored his malevolent intentions. With a twisted satisfaction, Philip removed the tape that had silenced me, his smirk growing wider as he allowed me to speak. I glared at him, my eyes burning with a fiery rage that demanded answers. This man, who had been a stranger just moments ago, had betrayed my kindness, exploiting my goodwill for his sinister agenda."How dare you, Philip!" I spat, my voice laced with indignation. "How could you
LYZAI made my way towards the meeting place with Dante, when a voice called out my name, causing me to turn in surprise. My eyes fell upon an elderly man standing a few feet away. His weathered appearance spoke volumes of a life filled with hardship and struggle. Yet, despite his disheveled appearance, I held no judgment, for I had learned never to judge someone based on their external circumstances.Approaching the old man with genuine curiosity, I offered a polite smile. “Hi! Is there something I could help you with, sir?” His eyes crinkled with a hint of warmth as he returned my smile. He mentioned feeling honored to see me in person and spoke of hearing favorable compliments about me within the Black Pearl Pack. “By the way, my name is Philip. I’m also a member of Black Pearl Pack. But my wife and I are just omegas,” Curiosity piqued, I couldn't help but wonder what he wanted from me. Was it merely a chance encounter, or did he harbor ulterior motives beneath his humble facade?
LYZAI am about to meet Dante today. The anticipation mingled with a deep sense of contentment within me. The smile on my face seemed to reflect the happiness that bloomed in my heart. Everything was falling into place, and I couldn't help but be grateful for the events that had unfolded."What if I tell Dante the truth?" I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible above the soft hum of the car's engine. The thought played like a gentle melody in my mind, twirling with uncertainty and hope. The mission given to me by the Moon Goddess had been accomplished, and justice had been served for Anna. But as I pondered revealing my true purpose to Dante, conflicting emotions tugged at my heart. How could I possibly leave this life, this newfound connection, behind? My heart had intertwined itself with Dante's, beating in unison, and the mere thought of walking away left an ache within me.Lost in my thoughts, the passing scenery blurred outside the car window, mirroring the whirlwind of em
Darlyn's gaze shifted from Philip to the elderly woman standing before him, and a wave of revulsion washed over her. Estella White, Anna's mother, bore a striking resemblance to a wicked stepmother straight out of a fairy tale. Her disheveled appearance and haggard expression only intensified Darlyn's disdain.Darlyn cleared her throat, preparing to introduce herself, but before she could utter a word, Estella's eyes widened with recognition. The woman's arms shot out, encircling Darlyn in a tight embrace. Darlyn recoiled, a mixture of disgust and irritation twisting her features."What are you doing, old woman?" Darlyn snapped, her voice laced with contempt. "A pathetic creature like you shouldn't dare to touch someone of my stature!”Estella's grip tightened, oblivious to Darlyn's disdain. A flicker of longing danced in her eyes, a deep-seated desire hidden behind her worn exterior. Darlyn couldn't fathom what could possibly draw such a woman to her, nor did she care to find out.Es
Darlyn stepped into the bleak streets of Ovion City, a place devoid of life and hope. The air hung heavy with the scent of despair, mingling with the lingering stench of poverty and desperation. Dilapidated buildings lined the worn-out roads, their weary facades telling stories of struggles and shattered dreams. The city seemed frozen in time, a forgotten corner where rogues and outcasts sought refuge. As she approached the White's home, the sight before her was even more dismal than she had anticipated. The house stood in disarray, its weathered walls and crumbling structure bearing witness to years of neglect. The roof sagged under the weight of time, its once vibrant color faded to a muted gray. The gate, rusted and crooked, gave an eerie impression of a barricade warding off unwanted visitors.A wave of revulsion washed over Darlyn as she stepped closer, the putrid odor assaulting her senses. She wrinkled her nose in disdain, but her determination remained unwavering. This rundown
