As always, Trevon did not hesitate to send her home.

Madeline's world went momentarily dark, and she sank onto the couch.

Tracy was spooked, feeling concerned. "Madeline, are you alright?"

Madeline gave a weak shake of her head. "I'm okay, Tracy. I turned you down because I've just been discharged from the hospital. I'm not back to full strength yet..."

"Don't sweat it, I get it. I shouldn't have asked, especially with your need for privacy," Tracy conceded.

Madeline offered a wry smile. To her, art was art—painting, photography, no matter. There was no hierarchy. It was just her health that was the dealbreaker.

Uneasy about Madeline heading back to the company alone, Tracy arranged for a driver. "Drop by the studio sometime. My daughter's a bit younger than you, and I bet you'd get along."

Madeline's smile was her yes.
