Cedrick's POV

And here I was thinking I would be the one drowning my sorrows…

I threw the bottles out and turned back to my mate. Damn! She was not a pretty sleeper, I thought, as a smile crept across my lips. Her mouth was slightly open, drooling all over the notes she was trying to write, and her blond hair hanging over her face and shrunken shoulders. She looked exhausted.

I took a deep breath. Best to get her to bed.

“Lesley?” I gently touched her shoulders…

“I’m awake!”

I jumped back, hating to admit that her sudden jolt startled me. She sat up straight as if someone had struck her with lightning!

But awake she was not!

Her eyes were barely thin stripes on her head, and she was already gently rocking from side to side, ready to duck down again. I honestly had to bite down a chuckle, when I noticed the rest of her: the paper had gotten stuck to her cheek and she

Lesley’s POV“Good morning sunshine!” Ryder, the cute Third, greeted me--- and I finally understood how Cedrick felt on Sunday mornings!“Mornin’, Sensai,” I muttered, hauling my ass to the training arena. I had barely got out of bed this morning when my alarm went off. My head was pounding and I felt sick to the core. Even my wolf was whimpering at every movement my body made. I crawled out of bed, into the bathroom, and threw my insides in the toilet.Wait just a second, I gruffly muttered to myself. I know what this is! But why? How? How did I wake up with a hangover? I didn’t drink any alcohol last night. My wolf had no explanations either--- unless we’d been drugged. But there was no one else in the house last night. Except…I frowned as I tried to think, with my clogged-up brain. I vaguely remembered having a weird conversation with Cedrick, but--- And that’s when it hit me!Oh,

Lesley's POVI opened the door, exiting the arena, when his scent hit me like a bullet train.“Hey, Les-girl,” Dean said in his usual, gentle voice. I took a deep breath letting his scent calm me like it always did. But just as it calmed me, it also stirred up a storm I hadn't even realized was lurking under my skin. Sure, I forgave him for what he did to me under my Uncle’s alpha command, but--- Could I forgive him for what he did after? Could I forgive him, for leaving me?“Les-girl,” I echoed, tasting the name on my lips again. I hadn’t heard it for almost 3 years now, but it still managed to string a cord in me. Triggering happy memories as well as the deep cut of the betrayal of being left behind. “Haven’t heard that for a while,” I muttered, plastering a smile on my face. No! I couldn’t forgive him for leaving me. He was my big brother, the one I trusted! He should have taken me away with him. He knew I’d never be strong enough to leave on

Lesley’s POVNew school!Yeah, I don’t think that needs an introduction: I hated it! And it got weird.Fast!“You’re the Luna,” a girl from the pack remarked. “Why are you here?”“To finish high school,” I deadpanned, and with that, the conversation quickly turned into how they would spend their day if they were the Luna. And that had them drooling over Cedrick’s hot body. His cash, his car, his biceps--- And how ‘oh, so sorry they were’ for having to say goodbye to his beautiful, gorgeous, and ‘oh so kind and sweet’ ex-girlfriend. Although she wasn’t officially their Luna, they’d always seen her as one!See where that was going?I quickly excused myself and left. One part of me – the VERY jealous part, curtesy of the mate-bond – wanted to scratch their eyes out! While the other part of me just wanted to throw my hands in the air and let them have him! Wh-what---?“I’m not---” Cedrick growled, but the relief I felt from his denial was short-lived.“Yes, you are! Stop denying it, Cedrick!” Beta Mitch roared and there was a loud bang sound; like he’d just hit the table with his flat hand. “You may not be having sex with the woman, but that’s---!” There was an intense silence. “That’s just as bad! You have a mate now!”“A mate who’s a fucking child,” was my mate’s grumbled reply. My wolf whined and my heart clenched. Great! When it wasn’t the other mate or the girlfriend, it was MY age!Without thinking I took a step back, shaking my head as the tears burned in my eyes. He didn’t want me. Lesley’s POV“Leave her alone!”I pushed the guy in front of me, hoping he would back off. But once my hands connected with his firm chest, I’m pretty sure I sprained something.“Stupid werewolf strength,” I muttered, annoyed as the guy grabbed me by the collar and pulled me all the way over to him, so I could feel his bad breath on my skin.“Get out of my way, filthy bitch,” he sneered in my face. From the corner of my eye, I could see the girl standing next to him, with a satisfied grin on her face, while the slut on the ground was still crying her eyes out. So…You’re probably wondering about what the shit is going on? CW: Description of SA aheadLesley’s POVAmanda cried. A LOT! I did the best I could to console her – because: Friendship bitches! – and I even did it without pulling the “I fucking told you so!”-card. Because I fucking told her so! But I think she learned her lesson and there was no reason to rub it anymore in her face.A very, very long while later, she had fallen asleep, and I snuck out of her room. Downstairs I ran into her father, Adrian. He was a pack warrior – very much respected back in my father’s days – but now, like most of the pack warriors, he’d lost his pride in being a warrior, as he didn’t see it very honorable to kill women and children. Every rogue – man, woman, or child – was killed. Anyone who trespassed was killed. And anyone – even pack members! – who disrespected the alpha, were killed. How I’d stayed alive for so long, I have no idea--- Or rather, I knew, but I was in denial…!“Thank you for sticking up for her,” he whispered, sounding just as dead inside as he

  • The Lottery Mate   Chapter 3

Lesley’s POV“How did Alpha Harry punish you?” Amanda asked nervously, once we turned the last corner and the school came into view. She was only nervous because she knew that it was because of her, that I even ended up in that situation.“It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be,” I said with a smile, brushing it off like it was nothing. “I mean, he didn’t beat me black and blue like most of the time, but this morning he called me back into the office and commanded me to do everything Trevor said. And honestly,” I added with a sincere chill running down my spine. “That scares me more than anything.”“He used the command on you?” Amanda screeched, surprised. I honestly didn’t understand her surprise, until I remembered that it isn’t normal for an alpha to use his alpha voice for things like some lame punishment.“It must be something Trevor or Fraya must have convinced him to do,” I said, shrugging, not knowing if/why I was defending him. I knew Uncle Harry was either a) going to get

  • The Lottery Mate   Chapter 26

Cedrick’s POVI was restless!I didn’t know what to do in a house with a girl that was almost half my age. Shit, I felt like such a pig! And my wolf certainly didn’t help, by constantly pushing vivid images into our mind of her strolling around naked. And as much as I didn’t want to admit it, it turned me on. So much so, time and time again, I found myself unable to do my work. Not until I’d either had a cold shower or found my own release.I sighed and for the 11th time that day found myself with a hard-on. Shit! I was exhausted… And god, did I feel OLD! I’d never felt this old before! Whoever said that a wolf in his 30’s was in his prime, did NOT have a mate that was practically a child! Not to mention, that every time she got within 6 feet of me, my wolf became utterly and completely impossible to control, because she smelled like---them! He wanted to mark and mate her without any concerns about the outside w

  • The Lottery Mate   Chapter 25

Lesley’s POV“Where’s Sandra now?” I asked, wondering if I would be getting visitors from ex-mates as well as ex-girlfriends…“She ran away shortly after,” he answered, sadness and bitterness dripping from every word. “I haven’t seen or heard from her since.”I glanced up. He didn’t look at me, but I didn’t need to see the rest of his face, to recognize the pain and anger in his expression. He tried to hide it, but sadness and disappointment were feelings not easily hidden away. They were the feelings that sometimes left the deepest scars…“I’m sorry,” I muttered before I could help myself.“What?”“I’m sorry,” I repeated, letting my fingers fumble with the helm of the hoodie. “I can’t imagine what that must feel like; not knowing what happened to your mate.”“She rejected me,” he snarled, and I’m pretty sure his wolf was in there somewhere. Sore subject. Noted. Not that it surprised me or anything. However,

Lesley’s POVI stayed away for as long as I could. But around midday, I was cold, hungry and tired. I wanted to go home and sleep. Perhaps if I was lucky, the rejection was written on the fridge and I didn’t have to see Cedrick again.I could run back to my old pack. Become my Uncle’s pet again and just live life like a hollow fuck-doll. I would die of an STD or AIDS or some shit like that in a couple of years and then--- and then…And then I’d be free…I opened the patio door and walked in. His scent was the first thing that assaulted my senses. For a split second, my heart clenched, knowing I would never smell it again once he rejected me…“Hey!”I jumped around, coming face to face with a newly showered Cedrick. He had a wild look on his face and his voice was harsh and stern. He strode closer but suddenly stopped. Like he’d hit an invisible wall. His nostrils flared, and his hands curled into a fist.“You
