Vastria was finally alone. Her head feeling heavy from all the excitement. Alone in her own room, her body started to shake. The pounding in her head subsided after a while since she was brought to her room. She walked to the window and looked outside. Below the garden was spread out wide and far. She could not see what type of flowers were being grown. All she could see was the fast greenery like maze of a garden. A man-made pond in the center with benches and tables. Surrounding the garden was high fences with vines grown to be part of a wall. In front of that was a man-made river that round around the garden to the pond at the center and mini bridges to allow passage to all the garden. She then turned to look around her room.

This room is too much. It is bigger than my dorm suite with my roommate. She thought as she walked around the room. She studied the mini couch and coffee table then made her way over to the desk and dresser wardrobe. She opened the dresser wardrobe to find it filled. This wardrobe was like a walk-in closet with rows of hung clothing. At the end were drawers. She walked in and the light above turned on revealing that the drawers were long and next to the drawers were shelves of footwear she would never have though to wear. She opened the drawers to find underwear and delicate intimates. It seemed to carry a variety of clothes. He bought me all this stuff. Kind of creepy that he would buy me all these intimates.  She thought furrowing her brow as she thumbed through the effects of the walk-in wardrobe.

“Lady Vastria,” a voice startles Vastria making her jump and turn towards the opening of the wardrobe. At the doors stood a maid. Her hair cut short just below her ears. Her hair was a frosted plaid blue. It was an odd color on a person. She clearly wore a maid’s uniform which the skirt was frilly like those Lolita outfits.

The maid looked to Vastria with worried eyes. “Lady Vastria, I apologize for startling you. I am here to assist you with your bath. Your father sent me thinking you might be more comfortable with another female with you. I see you are finding all your new belongings. I hope it is to your liking. Soon as we heard of your arrival, us maids made it our utmost duty to have anything and everything you may desire.”

“So, you guys are the ones that bought all of these and not my so-called father?” Vastria asked feeling a bit relieved. “Yes Milady, is it to your liking?”

Looking to the maid and to the clothes, Vastria nodded while making her way out of the wardrobe. “It is fine. It is a lot more than I was expecting.”

The maid smiled happily at her response. “I shall start your bath.” The maid skipped will grabbing a hanging robe heading to the bath.

Vastria found the maid odd but did indeed feel a bit more comfortable with this maid. She closed the wardrobe doors and followed the maid into the bathroom. This bathroom was huge. The sink took a wall to the right with a large shell shaped basin. The toilet was across the sink in its own little area. Then as you walk further in, there was a large tub that was ground level where you step down into, and at the far end a large shower. Both resembled the Japanese style shower and tub. Vastria stood there in awe of her bathroom. The maid was at the bath testing the water then noticed Vastria standing there. “Milady the bath is ready.”

After her bath, Vastria wore a white robe as the maid dried and brushed her hair oddly silently until Vastria spoke. “Um maid, what do I call you?”

With glee in her eyes, the maid answered, “Milady, you may call me by any name you wish, but with the other maids, my name is Izbeth.”

“Okay Izbeth, thank you.”

Izbeth the maid happily continued to assist Vastria with her hair and new clothes. Vastria was given a dress that Eldrid had picked out but asked for something more casual. At the end, Vastria wore blue jeans and a black V-neck shirt.

Izbeth the maid led Vastria down to the main hall and took the far corridor opposite to the corridor to the dining room. Vastria followed close behind. “Milady, you father asked me to bring you to his study so he could answer some of your questions.” The maid knocked then opened the door at the end of the corridor. The office a quite large with shelves lined with books. The center was a desk, with Vastria’s father sitting behind it. Soon as the door opened. Her father stood smiling. “My dear Vastria please come in.”

Vastria entered the office as the Izbeth the maid closed the door behind her. “Please sit, I know we have much to discuss before we have brunch.” Her father motioned her to sit at the chairs at the front of the desk. “Where to begin?” He asked as Vastria took a seat.

“Can you go over about my disappearance?” She asked looking up to her father.

“Oh yes. Let us start there.” He grabs a nearby photo and hands it to her. “This is your mother and I on our wedding day” Vastria took the photo studying it.

“That is not my mother.” She stated looking at her father. The woman in the photo was not the same as the mother she knew. This woman was tall and slender. Her eyes were deep brown and hair dark brown with red pigments, just like Vastria’s. However, the mother she knew was not like this woman in the picture.

“That is your mother, Vastria. She died while giving birth to you unfortunately. I do not know who had been raising you up till now.”

Vastria was confused staring at the picture. Then who raised me?

“How about you describe who raised you, Vastria” Her father took a seat at his desk. Vastria nodded describing the woman she though was her mother.

“Well, that makes sense. That was your grandmother who raised you.”

Vastria only stared at her father trying to think it through. “But she did not seem that old to me, old enough to be my grandmother.” She explains how it was growing up with her “mother” was she learned was her grandmother.

“Well this will be a lot information for you to learn but try to understand. I bet your grandmother thought this was best for you. Now let me explain this further. You are aware I am a demon lord.”

Vastria nodded.

“Your mother and your grandmother both were witches. Your mother was the most powerful witch. She belonged to the coven that dictated all laws for other covens. When your mother and I met and eventually fell in love. Her coven tried to forbid it. We ignored them. Witches always thought demons were the scum of the world. And. Yes. Some I agree are scum of the word, but I myself believe I am more sophisticated than that. Your mother thought so.”

Vastria listened intently as her father explained what he could. She was starting to understand her treatment with her grandmother.

Her father continued, “After we were married, and your mother was pregnant. The witches became infuriated. It seemed they did not want power going to the demons. After your mother had you, they broke in and took you away hiding you. Witches come into power at the age of thirteen. It made sense your grandmother treated you that way and had sealed away your magical powers.”

Vastria interrupted, “I have magical powers?”

“Yes, I will help you break that seal when you are ready.”

Vastria took in this new information nodding.

A knock came from the office door and Eldrid appeared at the doorway. “Brunch is ready.”

“In the meantime, take this all in and I can explain more later. For now, let us get you something to eat.” Vastria’s father stood motioning for them to head to the dining room.

Vastria nodded standing up and followed Eldrid to the dining room with her father treading beside her. As the passed the stairs, a bang on the door echoed through the hall. The banging did not stop until the door flew off the hinges landing before the stairs. With a jolt, Vastria jumps and looked straight at the opening where the door once stood. Eldrid and Vastria’s father unsurprised watched the door. Eldrid stood on guard near Vastria.

Four men entered the mansion. Two dressed as though they came from a rave with their tight black pants with small chains hanging off the sides. One of them wore a leather jacket and the other wore a white tank top with a hand showing the middle finger in black. The one with the jacket had a Mohawk while the other was bald. The other two men that entered after them were dressed more moderately. One who seemed to be the eldest with white hair combed back and wore a suit like Vastria’s father, but it was a deep blue with a black tie. The other wore casual clothing. Black jeans with a white shirt and a black jean jacket over the shirt.

The older man in the blue suit seemed to be angry. Vastria’s father glided to meet up with the men at the door. The angry man in a harsh tone spoke, “You scoundrels of this earth. One of you brutes slaughtered our people. You will pay for that, demon scum.”

The dining room looked like a mad house massacre from a horror movie. Remus slowly let go of his embrace of Vastria watching her. Her gaze was locked on the bodies scattered around the dining room. Both stood in a pool of blood; both covered in blood of demons. Vastria stared at the corpse of Eldrid saddened that she had killed him, but just like she had before, she wanted to hide the fact she was interested in death. Even though she could not see his face, she knew what it looked like, horror filled with agony as she had ripped his still beating heart out. She looked to the ripped bodies scattered, torsos of maybe ten demons. An arm laid in the sandwich tray and intestines stuck on the wall slowly sliding to the floor. Remus turned to Vastria’s father as Vastria was looking around the room trying to stay calm. “Lord Rothcas, what happened? How did this all start.”Lord Rothcas had to shake his attention from the horrors of his own daughter as she watched her look around the room. “A

In the library, Remus was thumbing through some of the books on the shelves behind the study desk. The door to the library opened as both Vastria and her father entered. Remus placed the books back onto the shelf to meet with Vastria and her father. The library was massive, about three stories tall. The stairs to get to the next floor were placed on either side of the rooms. Each floor had study tables with lamps. The study table on this first floor was at the floor’s center. Couches were placed on either ends of the study desk with a floor lamp overlooking the couch. Vastria was in awe as she entered the room, looking around. There were so many books in this library, just as much as a real library. Remus stared at Vastria as she looked about the room. Something was different about her. It was at least four hours since he saw her back in the dining room with the incident. Her powers must have been released. The air around her feels different. Is this the magical power she possesses?
