4: Want To Divorce Me, Right Now?

After the ceremony, Athena returns back to her room. Change her attire, she went to the bathroom afterward and took a bath.

While Asher also went to his guest room, took out the divorce papers, and went to Athena's room. He knocks on the door, but there's no answer from the inside. Just when he wants to go to the living hall, one of the men guarding the floor opens the door for him. The one who opened the door for him is one of the butlers in this huge mansion.

Seeing inside Athena's room, he was amazed that the place was stunning with the art collection hanging in her room. All the painting is painted by the painter who is so mysterious. Known by the name of the goddess, Nike.

He is one of Nike's fan art. Rumor said that she is a disabled person who worked on the painting to earn a living. Some people said that she is actually a goddess looking girl. She doesn't like to be known to the public, so she went with the pseudonym.

He scrunched his eyebrow a bit and looked at the art one by one. All of them are genuine. Knowing how rich his wife is, of course, she can get this painting without much care about the price.

He went to sit down on the couch and put the divorce papers on the table, waiting for her to come out from the bathroom. He could hear a faint dripping water sound coming from the room behind the colossal divider wall.

He sits facing the door that's supposed to be the bathroom or whatever room she was in.

While waiting for her, he heard a vibrating sound coming from the bed. He went to bed and took a look at her phone.

'Z?'

He lifted up his eyebrows a bit before he answered the phone.

"Hey princess, how was your sister's wedding? Did you miss me today?" Zayne, on the line, sounds so excited to hear Athena's voice.

"If you are looking for Athena, she's in the bathroom," Asher said and ended the call after that. He types something on her phone for a while before putting down the phone back to the place.

Just after he put down the phone back on the bed, Athena opens the door. She already changes into her casual attire with her hair still wet.

She's so surprised seeing Asher in her bedroom. Divert her eyes from the man, she turned to look at the bed.

"Someone with the name Z just called," Asher said, try to brush off the awkwardness between them.

Athena went to her bed and took her phone away. "And what do you want?" She asks straightforwardly.

Asher went to the table and gave her the divorce papers. "I come to discuss this matter with you."

Took the paper, she looks up to him. "You want to divorce me right now?"

Asher didn't nod nor shake his head. He looked at her and said again. "I already signed the paper. When you sign it later, let me know. I'll be going back to Arendell tomorrow. If you need anything, just text me or call me. I already saved my number on your phone."

After he finishes said that, Athena still not replying to him. He then left the room and went to find his family downstairs. Guess there's nothing more to talk to her now.

Locked the door, Athena leaned against the door and looked at the divorce paper blankly. She put those paper inside her desk drawer and went to bed.

Rolling around the bed for a while, she then decides to call Z. After a few rings, he finally answered her call.

"Do you mind telling me what's going on?" Zayne's jerking out a bit. He was in frantic mode and ready to fly back to Imperial any moment now.

"I'm sorry for not telling you earlier, Z. It was so sudden, and I had no choice either." She jolted her body when she heard Zayne's intense voice.

Sighing, Zayne lowered his voice a little. He took a seat and tried to calm down. "Okay, princess, tell me what happened?"

"I... I got married." Her voice was above a whisper. Afraid of telling him the truth, but she also doesn't want to lie to him.

"You what?! Oh, my God! Oh, fucking God! I can't... Wait! With whom you get married?" He panicked and surprised—all in one shot. He couldn't sit and calm down anymore.

Athena moves her phone away from her ear when he is cursing and yellings. "Ash-Asher.."

"Asher?! Wait, who is this, Asher??"

He then gasps loudly. "No, don't tell me it's him! Is it him??" Athena still didn't say anything. Well, he said, don't tell, did he?

"Athena? Answer me."

"Yes."

Zayne turns silent for a moment, "Z...I know you angry, but please say something."

"I had nothing to say now. I'm speechless—shock as hell. I prevent you from going out before I return to make sure no single bug snatch you away from me. And now, even though you're not going out, there still this stupid bug who dare enough to mess up with you? What am I supposed to say, Athena? I'm so broken right now. I feel like I want to kill that guy."

"Z... it's not like we married for real. Aurora mess up things with her husband, and I was her substitute bride while Asher also a substitute groom. We happened to be in a state of emergency. For my family's name and face, please understand it. We will-"

"If any random guy who married you, I would still believe that you will surely just be fine and return to me again. But Athena, it was him we talked about. Among so many people, why it's must it be him? Should I just give up and forget about you? We've been friends for almost two decades, princess! And you said that you agree to live with me when I return. Now, I can't even think straight. You know how much I love you, didn't you? Really, I'm hurt, Athena." His voice turns raspy, and she could hear a sniffing sound from the end of the line.

"Z... I- " She lost her word.

Sniffling, he holds his voice to not be so broken, "I'm going to hang up now. When I return to Imperial, we'll talk about it again, okay?"

Athena's face was already wet with tears after he ended the call.

She sleeps with her eyes swollen a bit because of the crying. She loves Zayne. She did promise him that she will open her heart for him. After all, they have been together for so long. But deep down inside, there's another name that seems never faded away for so many years even she tried to forget him.

She stuck in between. Zayne is her best friend since she was a child in the Imperial city, and he was her lover too, while Asher is her childhood crush, her first love. Both give her a special feeling.

But this marriage is not based on mutual feelings. How is Athena gonna defending her marriage if it's only her who willing to do so? Asher was so cold to her and not friendly either. Not like when Asher is still a child, who was so gentle and kind toward her. She brushed off all of the thoughts and decided to wait for Zayne to return to Imperial City.

Early in the morning, Andy and his family already left the mansion. They return back to Arendell after having breakfast with her family.

Leaving Athena behind, Asher feels a bit worried, but he brushed that feeling away, and for him, he had so many things that he needs to do for his company. Marrying Athena will not make him live with her and move his company to another country, right?

After a few hours of flight, they arrive at the airport, and Asher returns to his own mansion. He had no energy left to stay at his parents' house. For sure, his mother will nag at him for leaving his 'wife' behind.

His father? Hmm..more likely will be sided with his mom. So he should return to his home before he bleeds his ear hearing his mother's nagging.

Entering his study room, he turns on his computer. Searching all details about his new wife. Athena Lee.

Unfortunately, he didn't find anything that related to her at all. Not even her social media exist on any platform. It looks like somebody was covering up anything that related to her. And that is also a reason why he couldn't find anything about her years ago.

Then he suddenly remembers one other name. Z and Zayne that Richard Lee mentioned before.

He then starts to search for someone with the name Zayne from the wealthiest list in Imperial City. After 20 minutes of searching Zayne's identity, Asher finally found something that interests him. A piece of news with the headline 'A young president of Z High Tech Corp went to a world cybersecurity competition launch in the United States.'
