Alpha Xavier

~Xavier~

As the world blurred around me, I felt my heart pounding in my chest, threatening to burst free.

A cold sweat broke out across my forehead, and my hands trembled uncontrollably. It started as a subtle unease, a flicker of anxiety that swiftly transformed into a suffocating wave of panic.

A sharp pain stabbed at my chest, radiating through my body like an electric shock. I let out a cry of pain and fell as the ground beneath me seemed unsteady.

It was happening again. That saddening story of my life I never want to share with anyone.

I could see her beautiful smiley face, the face I always wished never left me. Grabbing my head in agony and regret, I felt my fingers elongate into sharp claws, capable of rending flesh and tearing through obstacles.

Fur erupted from my pores, making me growl loudly again.

Suddenly, I heard something from a distance. A soft yet distinct rhythm permeated the air.

It started as a faint whisper, like a distant drumbeat carried on a gentle breeze. As I focused my attention, the sound grew louder, filling my ears and captivating my senses.

Each thump resonated through the room, a steady cadence that echoed with life's persistent pulse. With each rhythmic thud, I could feel the heartbeat carrying a medley of emotions.

I wondered how I could sense something so strong at a disturbing time like this.

While still trying to figure out who could be the owner of this heartbeat, my ears rang with a high-pitched reverberation of someone opening the door to the store I hid.

The owner of the heartbeat.

In agony, I raised my head to look at who this person was, and there stood a young lady, frozen from what she had just seen.

Thinking she was going to run away in terror, I saw her take a bold step forward, and instantly, the atmosphere subtly shifted, as if infused with an aura of calmness and tranquility.

Her eyes carried a warmth that enveloped me, reflecting a genuine kindness and compassion for me. She got very close to me, and I realized that I wanted her to get closer.

It had never happened. In times like this, everyone stayed away from me, and even those that tried to calm me down, I ended up being aggressive with them.

But she was different… I found it hard to be defensive.

“It’s okay. You will be alright.” Her voice carried a natural ebb and flow, a soothing melody that wrapped around my aching heart. It was as if her voice possessed a hidden power to untangle knots of worry and weave a tapestry of calm in its wake.

My growl slithered through the air, barely breaking the silence that followed her voice.

In boldness, she knelt in front of me and stretched her thin hands forward in an attempt to touch me. I could hear her heart racing in her chest as her hands finally touched my head.

In the midst of uncertainty and mounting pressure, a sudden wave of relief washed over me like a cool breeze on a sweltering day.

It swept through every fiber of being, lifting the weight that had settled upon my shoulders, and releasing the burdens that had become all-consuming.

Instantly, my body began to take the shape of a human once again, and I fell weakly in front of her… half naked. My clothes had ripped off, leaving me with only a torn trouser.

“Who are you?” My voice emerged like a fragile whisper, barely audible in the air.

I raised my head to look at her face, waiting for her to respond, but she seemed lost, staring at my face.

Regaining some of my strength, I sat up and stared back at her. She was the cure I had always wanted. She was the solution to my problem.

“I’m glad you feel better now. I… I have to leave.” She stuttered, trying to stand up, but I grabbed her hand firmly, making her stop.

“You cannot leave.” I asserted.

Instantly, I saw terror in her eyes, and her hand trembled in mine. “I have to leave. Please, let me go. I can’t be found here.” She muttered, trying to get my hand off hers, but I was way stronger, and I wasn’t going to let her go.

Why would I let the solution to my problem slip away from me? I kept my grip firm around her wrist as I reached for the pocket of my pants with my other hand.

I pulled out my phone and went ahead to put a call across to my trusted bodyguard, Karl.

“Please, I beg you. Let me go.” Tears welled up in her green, almond-shaped eyes as she stared at me. I kept my eyes fixed on her as I waited for Karl to answer the phone.

“Come into the kitchen store with new clothes for me. Send everyone in the kitchen out.” I ordered as soon as Karl answered the phone.

After speaking, I hung up and threw my phone in my pocket again.

“I’m sorry for trying to steal from you. All I took are still right there in the kitchen. Please let me go. I promise to put everything I had taken back to where they were. I promise never to show my face to you ever again.” She cried, but this didn’t get to me.

Nothing on earth was going to make me let go of her.

“Please! Can’t you see I’m begging you! I need to leave!” She yelled out of frustration after seeing that I ignored her pleas.

“I told you… I cannot let you leave. You are coming home with me.” I answered coldly.

Before she could respond, the door opened again, and Karl walked in with a two-piece suit, laying on his right arm. Standing up from the ground, I pulled her with me and walked up to Karl.

Taking the suit from him, I gave her to him. “Get her out of here in a way that no one would notice. If you have to sedate her to keep her mouth shut, do it. Get her into the car… I’ll be right behind you.”

“Yes, Alpha Xavier.” Karl answered, holding her by the arms firmly.

“Alpha Xavier? You’re Alpha Xavier?” Hee jaw dropped in disbelief.

Ignoring her once again, I walked away from them and walked back to where we were before so that I could change into the new suit.

My back was turned against them as I put on my new shirt. She kept ranting as I dressed up and soon I heard nothing. Looking over my shoulders, I saw Karl already silenced her using a handkerchief.

‘You are mine now.’
